My doctor has had me on 1 mg xanax 4 times per day for 15 yrs now and oxycodone 30 mg 4 times a day. I was supposed to see him last Thursday to get my refills but when I called to make the appointment I was told that he quit indefinitely so now I'm going cold turkey without anything...my pharmacist faxed my refill orders several times last week & they told me they couldn't find my medical chart....1st time in 15 yrs my chart got lost & my refills for xanax were never called in to my pharmacy... Green outer coating works as extended rellaese, the number 80 is on the outside ## When ordering foreign medications, it is very hard to be certain of what you are getting, since they are not regulated like those in the US. In addition, obtaining medications from a foreign source, when they are readily available in the US, is illegal. ## ok but now they are not readily available in the u.s .....so therefore not illegal anymore....right? It seems everyone on pain meds illegally has resorted to their local H dealer , then resulting in family members robbing your home and pawning anything of value with no reguard for the impact the theft has done on the person/s the H addict has stolen from, so please think before trying to find an alternative , it usually ends very bad ! Everyone should contact there local news stations and get an interview on the 5 o'clock news.. Have been using opiets for over 35 years. Started with auto accident. Doctor prescribed over a long period then passed away. Was addicted and had to purchase illegally locally. Now still having problem with addiction and paying most of my SSI and Retirement for what I can get. Went to a mandatory class in Elizabeth City, NC several times weekly just to be able to get prescription for Suboxone. It worked but got tired of sitting 3 hours in class with young people and now back on the hard stuff. This has nothing to do with drug abuse! Or Harm prevention! And everything to do with the drug company wanting to keep their monopoly on the pharmaceutical drug market.... They are about to loose there patent on oxycontin in Australia so they introduce oxycontin reformulation which gives them a patent for the next 8 year's and push of the original to be band..... I'm 60 and live west of Chicago I have severe back problems and I'm looking for a new pain clinic.I've been taking OxyContin 40 mg twice a day and it needs to be increased, but the Doctor won't do it. So I'm presently looking for a new doctor to prescribe Pain medication. Mom borrowed a bunch of my MS Contin and repaid me with Oxycontin when her script came in-- but today my Doc sprang a UA on me when I went in to get my meds. I took 1/2 of an 80 mg this a.m. when I woke up and then resumed my regimen of MS Contins. I took her Oxy's for two days straight before that. Will they differentiate the meds? Will they detect the differences? ## Yes, they will most likely both be detected. MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine and OxyContin contains the active ingredient Oxycodone. In addition, such sharing of medications is actually considered illegal in the U.S. Are there any other questions or comments?

Technically, any doctor can prescribe it, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require it on a long-term ongoing basis for the management of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then the easiest thing to do would be to ask them to refer you to someone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Most do but few do it illegally and also won't prescribe it...

I get a legitimate prescription of Oxycodone (30 mg.) 90 pills every month from my doctor. Insurance pays for it gladly. But I am new in the Bronx so pharmacies don't "know me"... I am sooooo sick of being told that the pharmacies don't have my meds!!! I have a pain specialist in Lee county in Fl and live in Naples. I have been paying for my controlled meds at a pharmacy in Bonita when I have insurance that covers my medication in full !!! this particular pharmacy told me that they are no longer accepting insurance for controlled substances because they lose money so they are charging $3-$4 each for MS Contin 15 and even more for Norco or percocet. Seems the only time you can get a prescription filled, if you can find a pharmacy that has them, is during the day. Catch 22 I can only manage my pain and work is with them but to get them you have to skip work, cross your fingers and fill up the gas tank and go hunting. What is the deal?
