May be moving to Florida. Will I have a hard time finding a doctor to keep me on the same pain meds, oxocodone 10mg? I have been on this now for 2 years & my heart and G.I. doctors know I take this prescribed by my primary doctor. I don't want to have to be put through the wringer for I didn't ask for this pain med. My primary changed it to this from norco due to the acetaminophen in my others meds. He stated that with my other meds plus the norco i was getting too much acetaminophen so he started me on the oxycodone. I know it's a strong narcotic but with my huge list of allergies this was what they came up with. I have no problem going to a pain clinic or signing the pain contract, I just don't know where I start looking for the correct doctors I will need. I know ...

Does norco 5/325 have the same ingredients as the little pink pill k56 which is oxycodone 10mg? My doctor switched me due to the strength. The k56 pills are stronger he said and i needed a weaker pill to be able to work. So he prescribed me the norco. What i'm saying here is that are they the same, but different doses? ## No, they are not the same. The Norco contains the narcotic Hydrocodone coupled with Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## what does kvk mean on my oxycodone 10 mg tabs bottle? ## KvK Bio Tech is the pharmaceutical company that make the drug. ## No they are two diff type of narcot...

I saw on here the difference between Endocet and oxycodone or Percocet. Well I have had scripts for both. If I could get Endocet I would take it over ANY other pain pill out there. I don't like to feel the rush of my meds. Then I enjoy them. I like to feel that my meds are working. There's a difference. I am basically allergic to everything but Endocet dilaudid and oxycodone. Norco...Now a question. Saying this and I have taken them all at one time or another. Is oxycontin and oxycodone the same pill? I read on Google it is. It's the way they explain to people. However if I ask my doctor or pharmacist, no it's different - one is man made. The other is like perc. So I'm lost... Can anyone tell me... Thanks... ## Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin, so what...

Are there any pain meds made with a 500mg of acetaminophen & 10mg of hydrocodone or oxycodone ect ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Lortab, Lorcet, Norco and Vicodin were all brand names for medication combinations that contained Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. There are none that contain more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose, now. The ones with the higher amounts were all removed from the market. That includes the Oxycodone combinations, as well as all other combination prescription drugs that contain Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Percocet has up to 10 mg of...

I'm prescribed 10mg. Oxcys. I went out of town 3 days ago n forgot my med, so I took 5 leftover Norcos I had left in my makeup bag from when my pm doc changed me from Norco to Oxycodone. Does Norco act differently in my body than the Oxy? ## Does it act differently? No, it is also a narcotic and has the same action for alleviating pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if you have a pain contract, you might have violated the terms, so it would be best to inform your doctor of what happened. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is an alternative or an additive to 60mg of Norco/day? I have severe pain and after 7 years, I must have...

My question is this, I was having a very difficult time filling my legitimate 30mg oxycodone qty(120) prescription, I had an old prescription from my old pm dr. that was for 10mg oxycodone qty (98). I showed it to the pharmacist he told me it was no problem to fill, and that the only issue would be that insurance would not cover both. After looking everywhere I decided to go ahead and fill the 10"s and pay cash. A week later the 30's were finally in stock so I was actually told over the phone, got to pharmacy and low and behold they only had 5 left, there were 2 other medications to fill on the same prescription, Norco's and Soma's, they said they could fill those and I would have to wait on the oxy's. I believe they do have they oxy's and are lying to me, I hone...

Was on Norco 10-325 on and off for a few years due to back problems. Had l4/l5 Laminectomy and was sent home with 5mg oxicodone. It's been 16 days since surgery and I tapered down from 2.5 yesterday. Last one last night at 10 pm. Withdrawals kicked in at 2:30 pm today! Not too bad. But the abdominal pain is bad when the immodium wears off. How long will this last and will it get better or worse physically tomorrow and the next day? No RLS yet. Is it comming???? I want to be done! ## Just wondering how your withdrawal experience went? I weaned the exact same way Im down to 2.5 mg tomorrow for two days then Im done. Just curious what Im in for?! ## I found the rebound pain to be the worst problem, when I stopped pain management, but I didn't taper. I just stopped. But I had extrem...

I ,m prescribed Oxycodone 30mg each month for pain and have gotten different kinds of them and I know that they say the same ingredients in all of them. But I know what work the best for me and I don't want to go back to the 40or 80mg .I,m hoping you mite know what stores the pharmacy distribute them to I live in the Seattle, Tacoma Washington area Thank you for your help. ## First of my heart goes out to all my fellow chronic pain sufferers. No one knows what we live with. I took Norco for 5ys. for arthritis severe low back pain. Then I was dx'd with massive peripheral nerve damage. The pain became horrible. So he put me on methadone 30mg 3 times a day along with the Norco 10/325 that I was already taking. I became tolerant to the Norco in about 2 more years. Now I'm taking...

I've noticed the 10mg k56 and the 15mg a214 effect me differently at the same dose (1.5 ks or 1 a) I know generics are supposed to be equivalent but we all know that's just not what's been happening (mallinkrodt generic Norco Percocet and oxycodone all are not better than Tylenol and their dilaudid is not the same as other brands either. But I was wondering in people's experience and opinion what kind of generic oxycodone provide the most relief. (3 car accidents, 3 surgeries) ## 10mgs and 15mgs are not the same dosage. One is higher than the other, so they will not work the same. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. The Norco, Percocet, and...

What is the difference between Norco, Percocet and Lortab? I have a script for all three. I have cancer and wondered which one is the strongest. I don't need all three pain meds if one is better than the other. Thank you. ## Hey CLM, the Norco and Lortab both contain the active ingredient hydrocodeine so basically the same medicine just different brand name. Unless they are a different dose 5/325 vs 10/325 then they are the exact same medication. Percocet contains oxycodone as the active narcotic and is stronger than the other two you mentioned. One may work better than the other for you personally but Percocet is the stronger of them. I hope this helps and the best of luck! ## Sorry for the typo, norco and lortab contain hydrocodone ## Lortab, and Norco both contain Acetaminophen, ...

would like information on a comparrison of the two drugs are they equal in strenght ## That would depend on the dosage. Norco contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. Winadeine contains Acetaminophen and Codeine. The Codeine is not equal in strength to the Oxycodone, so you would need a higher dose of it to achieve the same pain relief. The side effect profile, however, is the same: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Read more: Are there any comments or questions?

Meaning I cannot get an answer to this after much research over the years here and there. It’s always the same questions, what’s better, what’s more powerful (which is Oxy of course) or what is the difference between the two. My question is this. Does Hydro hit DIFFERENT receptors then Oxy and vice versa? If Oxy is more powerful, then “assuming” it fills receptors that Hydro does not?? So would taking an Percocet AND a Norco at once not be perfect, to say hitting ALL the receptors? Thanks :) ## Opiate receptors are opiate receptors, so they all work on the same ones, if you read up on the NIH research, some opiates are stronger than others, and some work better for some people than they do for other people. So, while they are sometimes combined to help get ...

Does the new Hyslinga work on severe pain better than Norco or Oxycodone? ## @MB, One might be able to compare the effects of Hysingla ER (Hydrocodone Bitartrate Extended-release) with Norco more easily since they share one of the same active ingredients. However, Oxycodone's analgesic effects are reportedly more potent than Hydrocodone and therefore I don't think Hysingla would be a better option than Oxycodone, personally. Then again, everyone tends to react/respond differently to these meds based on tolerance, level of pain, inert ingredients, metabolism, body chemistry, etc... So you may have to try them all for yourself in order to grasp a truly valid opinion between the three medications. One thing I do hear a lot though is that extended release meds are often recognized a...

are the abg 10's equal in strength to the norco 10 mg i need to know right away if not what is the difference in opiate strength i am used to taking 2 norcos per dose 10 per day??? ## The tablet with the ABG 10 marking contains 10mgs of Oxycodone, a potent narcotic analgesic. Has your doctor recommended this switch? The actual conversion, if you have been taking 20mgs of the Hydrocodone in the Norco, would be approximately 13.33 of the Oxycodone to equal the same dose. However, what you really need to do is try the Oxycodone and see how well it helps you, since it is more potent, you may get good results from the 10mgs, if you haven't taken it before.

which pill is faster release the one with 512 on it or the one with watson 749 on it ## I have a light green pill with 242 on it it is quick release oxy supposed to be 15 but I think 10, it is not working like 15 ## 512 has 325 mg of Acetaminophen and 5 mg of Oxycodone. Watson 749 is the exact same dosage as the 512 pill. They should both be the same effect, because they both contain the exact amount of each active ingredient. I've taken prescribed amount of 5/325-Norco or hydrocodone today for lower back bulging disc, DDD, nerve damage. Pain is not controlled this pm. How soon can I safely take oxycodone tonight? Can I safely take a norco and an oxycodone at different times on the same day. (If the norco at first does not help my pain.) Norco first gave some relief when first saw pain management Dr. and primary care Dr. As more time goes by my original RX is not helping ongoing pain. Thank you ## Hello, Robyn! How are you? That can be done, if your doctor approves, they are often prescribed together to manage severe pain, or when being switched from one to the other, the next dose is usually just switched out with the new one. However, self-medicating could be dangerous and may result in overdose, if som...

If 1 Percocet of the same dosage strength is halved, is that somewhere equivalent to 1 Norco? My prescription for Norco hasn't arrived yet and it's Sat. And I ran out of Norco today. ## @Pug, I think the answer may vary for each individual. However, a clinical study by NIH depicts Oxycodone and Hydrocodone as having "similarly potent analgesic effects in the first hour of treatment for ED patients with acute fractures." NIH also goes on to note that side effect profiles were similar as well. [1] source: PubMed / 15805317 Something else to keep in mind is that inactive ingredients could also affect how well a tablet is absorbed/metabolized, consequently making it challenging to determine which substance (or tablet composition rather) is more efficacious / bioavailable. So...

I've been taking Norco 10/3.25 for years for severe chronic pain--It's now no longer effective at all--I'm wondering about changing to Percocet 10/3.25 and whether this would be a stronger, more effective and longer lasting med to take--I've tried also Oxy.10 mg. hcl and they work so so and notice I need to take way more often than I ever did with Norco. I don't want to go this route at all!! I'm hoping the Percocet would change all this. Does it? ## I personally was in the same situation as you and I changed from Norco to percocet 10 325. It's much more effective then the Norco was but they have the same time frames. I sampled for a while 15 milligram oxycodones and didn't like those because there is no acetaminophen. I'm glad I made the change 2 per...

I got the same white oval 2172 imprint for my Norco Rx. I searched for information on this but didn't find anything until I looked here. I thought the pharmacy made a mistake. It is not effective for my pain and made me very nauseated. I don't like this "new" brand at all! I wonder if the pharmacy would exchange them for the previous manufacturer. I can't tolerate the nausea and almost had to miss work due to the nausea not to mention that I was still in pain. ## wondering if they replaced for you. i got these today and was on oxycodone right after a shoulder surgery.
