Is Nitrofurantoin Mylan

I have a UTI and my doctor prescribed both mylan 3422 and E122, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to work because I have one of the E122 and nine of the mylan 3422 pills. ## They both contain the same active ingredient, which is 100mgs of Nitrofurantoin. NDC codes: 51079-0348, the one with the Mylan marking is distributed by UDL Laboratories, and the one with the E122 is manufactured by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, NDC code: 00185-0122, the original labeler of this one was Eon Labs. When your doctor writes a prescription, and the medication is available as a generic, they actually don't get to dictate to the pharmacy which pills you will receive. An antibiotic, such as Nitrofurantoin, only treats bacterial infections and this one is most commonly used to treat UTIs. Can I take Mylan 3422 for my absessed tooth? ## What has your dentist advised? This contains 100mgs of Nitrofurantoin, which is an antibiotic, but is not usually the first choice for a dental infection. And, if it does help, it would only be temporary, because whatever is causing the tooth to become infection needs to be addressed and corrected, or it will just return.

I was told that this drug microbide 50 mg can cause lung damage. Is that true? ## Based on my research, Nitrofurantoin has been known to cause Pulmonary toxicity (damage to the lungs) with regular use. Is there a difference between Nitrofurantoin Mono/Mac 100 mg capsules and Nitrofurantoin Macro 100 mg capsules? The former is black and yellow with E122 on the front while the latter is gray with Mylan1700 on both sides. ## From what I could gather, both of the pills in question are one in the same drug. The only difference I noticed is that they are manufactured by different companies.
