Is Narco The Same As Tylenol

I would like to know if Tylenol 3 and Lortab are in the same family. ## Hello, James! How are you? They are both narcotics, but they don't contain the same active ingredients. Tylenol 3 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, so it's a rather mild narcotic analgesic, but Lortab contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so it's much stronger. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would like to know if norco 10 325 and tylenol 4 the same as far as pain relief ## They are roughly equivalent. Tylenol 4 is listed by the FDA as containing 60mgs of Codeine and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. To be equivalent to the Norco, you'd need 66.67mgs of Codeine. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take a norco and Tylenol 3 at the same time I am passing kidney stones and in pain very bad pain!! ## No, you shouldn't combine them, that could cause you to ingest a toxic amount of Acetaminophen, since it's in both of these medications. Too much Acetaminophen could cause liver damage or liver failure and an overdose has the potential to be fatal. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Additionally, you'd be doubling up on narcotics, since the Tylenol 3 contains Codeine and the Norco contains Hydrocodone. They can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which could cause shallow breathing, lowered heart rate and lowered blood p...

Hello, I have been managing joint and joint replacement pain for years with Norco 10/325 on an as-needed basis. We are using the 10 mg because it as a smaller ratio of Tylenol than the 5/325. I have been careful to use it only as needed because I fear addiction. Recently I painfully injured my hip and needed to use pain killers more often. My doctor switched me to Percocet, which did little for the pain and gave me a huge headache. I thought maybe the headache was a fluke or had to do with switching from Norco, so I spent a 3 day weekend in a chair without any pain meds and then tried the Percocet again, but the results were the same - headache and little pain reduction. So I went back to the Norco, using it more often and in a slightly higher dose. My biggest fear became reality - I de...

I would like to know the difference is it the same ## Hello, Crissy! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Aurolife Pharma and they list it as containing 60mgs of Codeine and 300mgs of Acetaminophen, so yes, it is just a generic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have had a couple of neck surgeries may need another and am waiting on 2nd hand surgery. My hand is killing me so I took a Naproxen 550mg and I was wondering if I can also take a Tylenol #4 at the same time. ## Hello, Tonya! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, so it should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA classifies Tylenol 4 as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The typical side effects for Naproxen may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. I have a infected wisdom tooth so my doctor prescribed me these on top ofpeniciilin. All the tylonel is doing is maken me feel sick all the time. Ive tryd eating on them but no matter what i feel like im going to be sick but i cant deal with the pain. What do i do ## Nicki, it's probably the Codeine in the Tylenol #4. I dealt with the same thing once and the doctor had to switch me to Vicodin, as it contains a different narcotic ingredient. You might be sensitive to opiates in general, in which case they may also decide to put you on a high dose of non-narcotic medications. Hope this info helps and good luck!! ## .Thank you very much. I am going to call my dentist monday and ask him for something different so i am not feeling like this anymore :)

I have a broken rear tooth and infection that is very painful. I will be seeing my dentist tomorrow, but he has prescribed me Tylenol 3, once every 3-4 hours. About a year ago for a similar problem he prescribed me Norco, which I still have a few left. I've taken 3 T3 today, but am wondering if it would be ok for my next dose, which will be in about 3 hours, could I switch to Norco? I've read that Norco is more powerful than the T3, and I'd obviously prefer to have as little pain as possible before I see my dentist. ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Yes, you should be able to do that, as long as your dentist or doctor approves. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzine...

is vicodin 750mg and methocarbamol 750mg are they used for the same reasons ## Methocarbamol (Brand Name Robaxin) is a muscle relaxer. Vicodin is for pain. It has 7.5 mgs hydrocodone & tylenol ## HI, Amy! How are you? Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so it's a narcotic pain reliever. Thus it has the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Learn more Vicodin details here. However, Methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant that's used to treat the pain associated with muscle sprains, strains and spasms. Its side effects may include nausea, headache, dry mouth and drowsiness. 16 hours post op. Wondering if I can safely take dilaudid and Tylenol 3's. Not at the same time but every 3 hours or so as both are prescribed every 4-6 hours. For example, a dilaudid at noon a t3 at 3:00 pm another dilaudid at 6pm and so on. ## Hello, Ganeen! How are you? Yes, you can do that, as long as your doctor approaches, you'd just be staggering when you take each one. The FDA classifies Dilaudid as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My wife has liver and pancreatic cancer. She has pain in her stomach as well as indigestion. Will Vicodin work better than Tylenol or is there something better? ## Hello, Kip! How are you and your wife? I'm sorry that she's in so much pain. The Vicodin is actually stronger, so if her doctors has prescribed it, she may want to try it, instead. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, there are also many other medications that she could try, such as Oxycodone, Opana and Dilaudid. All of which she could ask her doctor about. They carry the same risk and cause most of the same side effects as what I've already listed. NIH lists these, as well a...

tylenol #4 93 350 ON ONE SICE 4 ON THE OTHER IS THIS MEDICATION THE SAME AS VICIDON 7.5 ## Hello, Vern! How are you? No, they are not the same. Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, but this tablet contains Acetaminophen (300mgs) and Codeine (60mgs). This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How many tylenol 3 with codeine do I have to take to make the same amount as 4 norcos 10/325? ## Hello, Kalife! How are you? It takes 66.67mgs of Codeine to be equal to each 10mgs of Hydrocodone. So roughly 2 Tylenol 3 for each Norco. However, the problem is that you can't double up that much due to the dangers of overdosing on the Acetaminophen in them, because that could be fatal. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you should only take it as prescribed by your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Did this manufacturer raise the price of this medicine in the last 4 weeks? I am not insured. I have been on this med long term. For the last 2 yrs I paid 96.?? for 180 pills, about 3 mos. ago the price went down to 81.?? I just went to get them today and the price was 223.24 for 180 pills the same amount I have always gotten. The store said it was the manufacturer raising the price. I can't afford more than 200.00 I could barely pay the Dr. and 80.00 for my script. How do I find out if the manufacturer actually raised the price or if the store is feeding me a line of crap? Any help would be great! Thank you! ## hi I'm not sure exactly if they raised the price or not. I won't be surprised if they did since they have newly established FDA narcotic regulations. I am uninsured ...

I took a tylenol 3 at 6pm can I take a Norco 10 at 9:00? ## Hello, Jo! How are you? It would be best to only take them as prescribed. Taking them too close together could result in Acetaminophen overdose toxicity. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You can take Tylenol 3 and Norcos at the same time. I read this post and they say not to cause of an acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdose. So if you take a Norco it's has 325mgs of acetaminophen and a Tylenol 3 has 300mgs of acetaminophen so that is a grand total of 625mgs of acetaminophen. Do you know when you take 2 regular tylenols that...

My question is: does Oxycodone come without acetaminophen and Tylenol? ## Hello, Sassie Massie! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Tylenol is just a name brand for Acetaminophen, so they are the same thing. And yes, Oxycodone is available by itself in instant release, regular release and time released formulations. My doctor switched me from 1-2 tabs of norco 10/325 every 4-6 hours to 20- 40 ml of liquid 2.5mg/5ml every 4-6 hours - is it the same amount of norco? I know it has more tylenol in it but am I getting the same dosage of the norco? ## Well, first allow me to explain that Norco is a brand name for a medication that contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, it is not actually the name of the narcotic ingredient you are asking about. That said, if it contains 2.5mgs of the Hydrodocone per 5ml, then 20mls would contain 10mgs, this would be equal to the amount in one of the tablets you used to take. That would also mean that if you use 40mls, you'd be taking 20mgs of Hydrocodone, or equal to 2 of the tablets that you used to take. The main differece though, between a liquid and a tablet is ...

I was just switch from Percocet 5/325 to Oxycodone HCI-5mg do the Oxycodone HCI act faster or are they just the same without the Tylenol? ## Hello, Tina! How are you? Is the 5mg Oxycodone in a tablet or capsule form? If it's a capsule, then it would be instant release, so it would start to work faster. However, if it's a tablet, then it is the same as the Percocet, but without the Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
