information ## Is Anaproxen and Naproxen cousins? Are they the same?? ## The active ingredient in Anaprox is Naproxen, so they are the same. Was this prescribed for you? ## Can the Anaproxen capsule be addictive? is it possible that it becomes an addiction? ## It is not as addicting as something such as a narcotic, but our bodies can become dependent on anything that we use regularly for a long period of time and if we stop taking it abruptly, we will experience withdrawal symptoms. ## withdrawal symptons? i'm 17 years old. i think i've become dependant on it. with every little pain, i need to take one, but it's a need even if the pain is little, and when i say little, i mean tiny. I found this pill in my kids room...just wondering do people use this as a drug for getting high..? Please let me know ## I heard that some people have used it to feel a high ... just wondering..I'm worried and am hoping my kid is not hooked on them.. ## Naproxen will not get someone high, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. It is commonly sold over the counter in a lower dosage as Aleve or generic or store brands. This is, however, a prescription strength tablet, so your child should not have it. It is illegal to have this without a valid prescription. The other operative question you may want to look into is what your child thinks it is, do they think it is something they can get high off of, like a narcotic? Have they been taking other medications that they shouldn't be? ... ...

is naproxen stronger then vicodin
2 Replies RSS
I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can be addicting. You must have a prescription to get Vicodin. ## @original post, No, Naproxen is not stronger than Vicodin. Although it could probably compare to the acetaminophen in Vicodin, the hydrocodone is still a far more potent pain reliever in and of itself. If you're unsure of which medication to take for pain relief, I think it would be wise to ask your doctor/surgeon for their opinion on what might be most appropriate for y... ...

can u drink alcohol while on this nucynta and naproxen
1 Reply RSS
I took my meds 10 hours ago and I was wondering if I could have 2 glasses of wine? ## Hello, Chela! How are you? No, you should stay away from alcohol while taking prescription medications. This is especially true with the Naproxen, since it may have a detrimental effect on your liver, which can be compounded and made more risky by adding the alcohol, even drinking very little has been known to cause liver failure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Naproxen as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Nucynta is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Alcohol with it can worsen the side effects. Is there... ...

can you take opana and Naproxen sodium together. the naproxen sodium is in midol ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and there aren't any interactions listed between the two that I can find, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. However, you should be aware that sometimes NSAIDS, such as Naproxen can potentiate the effects of narcotics, so you may experience worse side effects, such as the dizziness and drowsiness. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

Can Aleve be taken at night if you are taking oxycodone/acetaminophen 5-325mg during day? ## Hello, Joan! How are you? Yes, you can, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA classifies Percocet as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. oxycod apap 5 325 mg or naproxen 500 mg which is better for neck pain and back pain ## These are two very different medications, which treat pain in different ways. Thus it does carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Learn more Percocet details here. Diference Betwen Naproxeno Sodium 550 mg And Percocet
1 Reply RSS
wha is the diference between naproxeno sodium 550mg and percocet ## The primary difference notable between these two medications is that Percocet contains a narcotic pain reliever in addition to Acetaminophen. Naproxen is just Naproxen, without anything else. To put this into perspective, Naproxen in and of itself is not nearly as potent as Oxycodone, let alone the combination of Acetaminophen + Oxycodone (Percocet). I believe choosing one over the other all depends on what your pain management needs are and whether or not Naproxen on its own can meet those requirements. I am currently taking vicoden for knee replacement there any OTC pain med to take that would be similar? Thank you! ## Not in the U.S. Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic and there are none available over the counter in the U.S. The strongest medications for pain that are available over the counter in the U.S. are the basic nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen. LOOKING FOR A PAIN PILL THAT NOT NARCOTIC ## Hi dina, Most non-narcotic pain pills can be found over-the-counter at your local pharmacy. Aspirin, Acetaminophen, and Naproxen are probably three of the most common ones. There are also quite a few natural remedies for pain relief that may be just as effective as some prescription medications, minus the dangerous side effects. You may want to do more research in this field if you have an interest in herbs. I hope this helps! ...

round pink mova 250 m25 pill ## This is Naproxen Sodium 250mgs, a generic prescription strength Naprosyn. This is just a little stronger than what you would get if you bought a bottle of Aleve over the counter. ## What is mova 250 m25 prescribed for? ## Well it is basically a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, like I said in the above post, it is Naproxen Sodium, so it is prescribed to treat mild pain and inflammation. Like I said, nonsteroidal, so it doesn't react with as many meds, or have as many side effects as steroids do, and since it is non-narcotic, it is also safer when someone just has mild pain for some reason, and their problems don't warrant heavy pain meds. I am going to post the link to the monograph for Naproxen so you can read some more details! Naproxen Further In... ...

What happens if your not prescribed this pill but it was giving to you by someone who has a prescription? Are there any side effects if your not in pain? Is it alright to take this kind of pain medication? Is it a narcotic? Can someone become addicted to Naproxen? Is it highly addictive like Oxycotin and Vicodine? Thank you and sorry for asking too many questions. ## Hi Alice, Not to worry, Naproxen is a widely used OTC/Rx medication and is generally regarded as safe for most individuals; which is why it's so readily available to the public. It's certainly not a narcotic, nor is it considered to be addictive at all. However, just about every pharmaceutical medication carries the risk of side effects (there's really no way around that).
