information ## Is Anaproxen and Naproxen cousins? Are they the same?? ## The active ingredient in Anaprox is Naproxen, so they are the same. Was this prescribed for you? ## Can the Anaproxen capsule be addictive? is it possible that it becomes an addiction? ## It is not as addicting as something such as a narcotic, but our bodies can become dependent on anything that we use regularly for a long period of time and if we stop taking it abruptly, we will experience withdrawal symptoms. ## withdrawal symptons? i'm 17 years old. i think i've become dependant on it. with every little pain, i need to take one, but it's a need even if the pain is little, and when i say little, i mean tiny. Or sometimes, i feel like my mind creates..pains..phsycological.. and i end up taking them. I ...

Does anyone have more information on IP 190 hydrocodone tablets? ## Hello, Jimmy! How are you? Are you referring to an oblong, white tablet with the marking IP 190 on one side and 500 on the other? Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. (NDC 53746-0190). A friend gave me a pill that has IP 190 on one side and 500 on the other side. I would like to know what it is? ## This tablet contains Naproxen 500mg (NDC 65162-0190). Inactive Ingredients: - Croscarmellose Sodium - Povidones - Magnesium Stearate ## My Dr gave me some a while ago..do they expire? I am in pain again would it be okay to take one ## I hope she didn't take the pill not knowing what it was and being illegal to take someone elses med. Also, I would not post online that this happened or someone responding. ## It won't hurt you to take medications that are expired, they just may have NO effect. Medications, normally, are only effective up to six months after expiration date. ## They don't arrest people for taking someone else rx that is Naproxen. ## Well these pil...

I found this pill in my kids room...just wondering do people abuse this drug? Please let me know ## I heard that some people have used it recreationally ... just wondering..I'm worried and am hoping my kid is not hooked on them.. ## Naproxen will not get someone high, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. It is commonly sold over the counter in a lower dosage as Aleve or generic or store brands. This is, however, a prescription strength tablet, so your child should not have it. It is illegal to have this without a valid prescription. The other operative question you may want to look into is what your child thinks it is, do they think it is something they can get high off of, like a narcotic? Have they been taking other medications that they shouldn't be?

I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can be addicting. You must have a prescription to get Vicodin. ## @original post, No, Naproxen is not stronger than Vicodin. Although it could probably compare to the acetaminophen in Vicodin, the hydrocodone is still a far more potent pain reliever in and of itself. If you're unsure of which medication to take for pain relief, I think it would be wise to ask your doctor/surgeon for their opinion on what might be most appropriate for y...

Hey guys, the IP 109 / 500 is naproxen. But if you have an oblong pill with IP 109 and a line on the back I think it's Vicodin 5mg. Personally I think they look way too much alike. Always check. ## Hello, Kristin! How are you? Thank you for your helpful post! I'd just like to add some clarification to avoid confusion that may be caused by the typo… The 500mg Naproxen tablet has the marking IP 190 on one side and 500 on the other. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. The generic for Vicodin has the IP 109 on one side. I've seen Naproxen and have been told Vicodin has this imprint as well. Are Naproxen and Vicodin the same? ## Naproxen and Vicodin are two very different pain medications. To my understanding, the similarities found in the imprint are just a sign that they had been manufactured or redistributed by the same company (Amneal Pharmaceuticals). The IP 190 500 tablet contains Naproxen 500mg (NDC 65162-0190); a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Ref: DailyMed The IP 109 tablet contains Vicodin (Acetaminophen 325mg + Hydrocodone 5mg); which is a combination of two types of pain medicine - Hydrocodone being an opiate narcotic pain reliever. (NDC 53746-109): Ref: DailyMed Hope this helps! ## You are probably confused because the markings are similar. Generic Norco 5/325mg (Hydrocodone/a...

I do take oxycodone 5 mg every 12 hours and I take naproxen 440 mg every 8 hours. I have swelling of my feet ankles and lower legs, mostly on the left. The anti-inflamatory properties of the naproxen doesn't seem to help the swelling to reduce at all. What could be inhibiting this? I am also type 2 diabetic and take 1000 mg twice a day. I also mix turmeric and ginger into my herbal tea, at least once per day. I use about 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of those spices and 1 tbsp raw honey. ## Lisa, Has your doctor ever prescribed or recommended a diuretic like lasix ? I took my meds 10 hours ago and I was wondering if I could have 2 glasses of wine? ## Hello, Chela! How are you? No, you should stay away from alcohol while taking prescription medications. This is especially true with the Naproxen, since it may have a detrimental effect on your liver, which can be compounded and made more risky by adding the alcohol, even drinking very little has been known to cause liver failure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Naproxen as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. can you take opana and Naproxen sodium together. the naproxen sodium is in midol ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and there aren't any interactions listed between the two that I can find, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. However, you should be aware that sometimes NSAIDS, such as Naproxen can potentiate the effects of narcotics, so you may experience worse side effects, such as the dizziness and drowsiness. Are there any other questions or comments? ## More to the point: exactly how reckless are you? Opana is a Schedule II narcotic pain-reliever. I can't imagine any doc prescribing it in tandem with Naproxen of any type. If you're shaving painful menstrual periods, see an ON-GYN. Most of us like practicing medicine so muc...

oxycod apap 5 325 mg or naproxen 500 mg which is better for neck pain and back pain ## These are two very different medications, which treat pain in different ways. The Oxycodone with Acetaminophen is a generic for Percocet, it is a narcotic (opiate) analgesic. Thus it does carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Learn more Percocet details here. But the Naproxen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. wha is the diference between naproxeno sodium 550mg and percocet ## The primary difference notable between these two medications is that Percocet contains a narcotic pain reliever in addition to Acetaminophen. Naproxen is just Naproxen, without anything else. To put this into perspective, Naproxen in and of itself is not nearly as potent as Oxycodone, let alone the combination of Acetaminophen + Oxycodone (Percocet). I believe choosing one over the other all depends on what your pain management needs are and whether or not Naproxen on its own can meet those requirements.
