I was put on morphine sulfate 15mg ER 1 every 12 hours. I had been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4xs a day. Morphine and Hydrocodone actually convert on a 1 to 1 ratio, so to equal 60mgs of Morphine, you'd need 60mgs of Hydrocodone. However, you can't take that many, due to the Acetaminophen in them. The limit for that is 3,000mgs daily, as set by the FDA. Exceeding that could result in fatal overdose toxicity. Hello. I take Norco 10/325 TID with MS Contin 20mg er BID for chronic back pain, sciatica, degenerative disease. I never get drowsy and feel it does the job because I notice no pain. I recently tried oxycodone with the letter M on one side & 05/52 on the other which I think is 5mg. Which one is stronger? Can I overdose on 1 30mg ER morphine tablet? i weigh 173 lbs if that atters. i have nver taken anything stronger then a hydro 10 and kinda scared to take this medicine. ## I'm not personally aware of the difference in potency from Hydrocodone to Morphine, but I wouldn't suggest taking anything that puts a scare in you like that. If it's too strong it's too strong and your best bet would be to start off with a smaller dose (cut in half perhaps to assess your tolerance). To answer your question though, I don't believe you can overdose on 1 tablet, but you may or may not experience some very undesirable side effects if your body is not used to it. I was on 100mls of methodone and then 50 mls of fentayl patch, and now taking 6mls of timereales diauldid which is not working ## Did your doctor direct you to make this switch? How many 15 mg of Morphine Sulfate equal 4 of the 10 mg Hydrocodone?? ## Morphine and Hydrocodone are generally considered equal in strength, when taken orally, so a 10mg Morphine tablet would be equal to 10mgs of Hydrocodone, this your 15mg Morphine is actually a stronger dose than what you were taking of the Hydrocodone. 3 of the Morphine 15mg tablets would be 45mgs and that would actually still be 5mgs stronger than the 40mgs in 4 of the Hydrocodone tablets. I took half of the blue pill just now. ## The Morphine is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, it is also a straight narcotic, without the Acetaminophen that is in the Vicodin. It sounds like your doctor is trying to help you get better control of your pain. The main issue here is, what type of Morphine pills are they?
