Is Methadone Stronger Than Oxycodone

I'd like to know how much stronger in milligrams the difference is between 30 mg of Methadone and 30 mg of Oxycodone? Of course, the Methadone always worked better and the Oxycodone, same dosage, is not nearly as strong. How does one figure that out? ## Each 30mgs of Oxycodone is equivalent to approximately 6mgs of Methadone, so yes, the Methadone is much stronger. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I am curretly taking Oxycodone. I was taking Methodone, and I am still having no luck with my pain and all the doctors I have seen won't give me anything stronger. I take about 150mgs of percocet 30mgs a day and I want to know if I take methadone will it help with the withdrawal & shakes of the stopping the percocet dose every day? I have used methadone to come off of percocets before, but it was at a way lower dose.. I'm currently on 24 mg of Suboxone after asking my doctor to switch from 50 mg of oxycodone to suboxone. It's just not working for the pain like it did at first. I'm in so much pain all day! She said she would switch me back to oxycodone at 60 mg a day since this isn't working well for me anymore. I've had people tell me that Suboxone is much stronger and that 60 mg wouldn't even be enough. For approx the past six months I have had even more problems than usual filling my morphine ir 30 mg. twice there have been drug shortages. I need to change to an equivilant medication like roxicodone,or something similar. What dose of oxycodone is equal to 4 X msir 30mg per day??? Yeah I was just wondering if a 5mg Methodone is stronger & more euphoric then 10/325 oxycodone's? I've been on the percocets 4 10 yrs give or take & don't work anymore so my pain doctor put me on methadone. Hi, I'm currently taking oxycodone 10 mg 4x a day. I need something stronger and something for break through pain. I don't have insurance so I need to do this cost wise since I'm paying out of pocket. I've taken dilaudid 4 mg with morphine 10 mg before and it did nothing for my pain. I was on liquid Methadone for chronic pain for years and while on waiting list to switch to a new Pain center, I was weaning off methadone rapidly at 2mgs a day from 120 to 38mg. I was also on 20 to 40 mgs a day oxycodone for breakthrough pain. Now, last month, my new doc put me on 25mcg/h patch. Yesterday, he informed me that I am now ONLY getting pain management from him (understandable) and cut me off and did not prescribe any more oxycodone and I was to stop at 38mgs methadone. For various reasons I suffer from Spinal Stenosis, Herniated Disc in Cervical area of spine, also suffered a broken tailbone. I suffer from terrible nerve pain in my pelvic area, neck, down my legs and spine. My dr. has recently put me on 50mg fentayl patch. I also take Gabapintin. These still are only controling about 59% of my pain and if I do something to aggravate my injuries I sometimes get screaming pain. A friend recommended Methadone in conjunction with what I'm taking. I have taken Oxycontin, Oxycodone in high doses so my tolerance is very high. I'm on my 5th week of the 10mg patches. I have no side effects, But it doesn't take my back pain away. It does help. I was on 30mg oxycodone 4 times a day. It did take the pain away. But I lost 35 lb and I didn't have 35lb to lose. I looked like a scare crow. I couldn't eat. I told the pain Dr. to get me off the Oxy. He gave me methadone to get off. It took a month. Has anyone had success getting their scripts filled in Tijuana, Mexico? I've heard from a couple people that it's a walk in the park. Too many American drs are too afraid to prescribe meds. I've heard u can go to a pharmacist there and get a script and fill it at the same pharmacy. Anyone else had success? Also, I've been on oxy 60mg for over 5 years. Is oxycodone easier to come off of than heroin or methadone? ## Oxycodone is much easier to come off of than both heroin and methadone. Heroin is much stronger so you get a huge tolerance and methadone has a very long half life so withdrawal symptoms last considerably longer. ## What is the best way to get off methadone liquid or heroin?
