I have a fatty liver. Will this drug affect it negatively? I am taking meloxicam 7.5mg + baclofen 10mg for pain in my lower back, knees and calfs. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? This is not a narcotic, but it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, according to the FDA, so yes it may have some adverse effects on your liver. Other typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am taking this for extreme pain in my shoulder & arm. How long does it take for this to take affect? Will I have to keep taking it to be able to work? My right arm is still not as good as my left arm. I've only taken one 15mg pill however. ## Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so while it can ease pain and swelling, it might not relieve all of it, when you're suffering from severe pain. It is not going to act like and be as effective as a narcotic analgesic. And yes, all medications only last for a certain period of time in your body, so you should follow your doctor's instructions for its use. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
