I was given these meds back in November after having surgery on my left ring finger and was wondering if it was safe for me to take them now? The expiration date is 11/1/16 so they aren't expired but is it safe to take them? I was told by a friend who was perscribed these same meds (lower dosage) that after a few days/weeks they become toxic. I just would like to know if it is in fact true? ## Hello, Larissa! How are you? No, they do not become toxic, even after they expire, once past the actual expiration date, they can just start to lose potency. Since yours aren't even expired, there is nothing wrong with them, at all. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, ...

I take 5mg of oxycodone about once a day for a TKR, I don't normally mix drugs and alcohol but I was bored so I waited 16hrs before I had 3 mixed drinks, each mixed drink I had was in a tall glass with less then a 1/4 of hard liquor and a lot of ice and to the top with pop and it took me 5hrs to drink 3 drinks and now its been 5hrs sense my last drink so how long do I have to wait to take a 5mg of oxycodone and no I didn't get a buzz from the drinks and I'm still myself (normal). ## Brenda, It sounds like you already know the answers, you're just looking for permission to justify imbibing and ingesting a powerful narcotic opiate/opioid. MOST folks here are genuinely attempting to provide valid information not to pass judgement on anyone's behavior. Someone with a min...

My daughter is 16 and 125 pounds and having a horrible time with allergies and had terrible headache! Is it safe for her to take 2 Claritin10 at once? Was wondering if higher dosage would help or hurt? ## Hello, Marie! How is she doing? Actually, rather than doubling up, you should take her to her doctor. They may be able to prescribe something that would work better for her than the Claritin. The headache could also signify that she's developed a sinus infection, which could require an antibiotic. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, headache and non=allergic skin rash. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Capsule turmeric and black pepper. TAke morning and night. Allergies gone. Don't believe me? Try it. I...

The bottle says expiration 2012 but my Dr appointment isn't until January 16th can I still take this for a vaginal discharge ## Hello, Dom! How are you? Medications tend to lose efficacy, once expired, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. As to the discharge, it depends what is causing it. This is classified by the FDA as an antibiotic, so it is not appropriate for all vaginal infections. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, stomach burning and cough. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a bottle of metronidazole that expired June 2016. Is it still safe to take today for bacterial vaginosis today August 2016. ## I have an expired prescription of Flagyl (2014)...It was stored in my plastic container away...

My grandson will turn 16 in February. He is 6' tall and weights 220 lbs. He takes Vyvanse for ADHD. Another doctor prescribed Naprelan to help heal a elbow injury. Is it safe to take both of these drugs? ## There are no interactions listed between taking them both, but you should check with a doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. The Naprelan contains the active ingredient Naproxen, so it doesn't actually help heal and injury, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that can help with pain and swelling that has been caused by the injury. All medications containing Propoxyphene and its relatives have been removed from the market in the U.S., Canada and most other countries, because they were found to cause serious cardiac dangers, plus there were an inordinate number of overdose deaths. It's really not a safe medication for anyone to use. Learn more Darvocet details here. Are there any comments or questions? Is...

I take 165 mgs of methadone everyday and i have gained alot of weight since. I got Lipozene to lose the weight. Is it safe to take them together?? ## Hello, Lori! How are you? Lipozene is a supplement, not an actual medication, so it has not been studied to check for possible interactions with prescription drugs. Have you checked with your doctor? They may have some idea of whether or not it would be safe. ## I would like to know if I could take lipozene and methadone together, I am currently taking 80 mgs of methadone a day. I need to know if I could add lipozene and methadone together? ## Wondering if you ever found out an answer because I have the same question I am on 90 mg of methadone and just started taking Lipozene. Had a hip fracture, took hydrocodone and norco for pain from 5/7 to 5/16, took last 325 mg of hydrocodone on Monday 5/17. Is it ok to have a cocktail tonight (Friday 5/20)? Thank you in advance. ## Hello, Karnie! How are you? It should be, as long as your doctor approves of your imbibing, but you may feel a little more dizzy and drowsy than usual. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. +LSPERNOL,+ CEPHALEXIN 500MG/+ HYDROCODONE 5MG,325,+ CELEXA+LAMICTAL+INDOMETHICIN+BC POWDER. IS THIS A SAFE COMBO FOR HEAL OF THE FOOT CELLULITUS? ## Hello, Ace! How are you? Are you taking or planning on taking all of these, at once? No, that isn't necessary. Cellulitis is an infection, so it requires an antibiotic and something for pain, if it's painful, but this is way too much stuff to be taking. What has your doctor instructed you to take? Please post back with more details, thank you!

Hi, I have a question. I recently went to see my doctor for a bladder infection and was prescribed Bactrim Ds 800-160 tab but wasn't prescribed any pain meds to relieve me of the pain and pressure this is causing me. Not getting any sleep at night. ## Hello, Bessie318! How are you? There are actually several products available over the counter that can treat the pain of UTIs, as long as your doctor says it is safe for you to take one. The most common one used is Azo. It contains Phenazopyridine, which is the same as what doctors prescribe. The FDA lists its possible side effects as including nausea, headache and discolored urine. Is this normal or should I stop? ## Hello, Maria! How are you feeling? Sorry about the nausea. This can be a side effect of some hormonal contraceptives, but it shouldn't be severe enough to keep you awake. Have you contacted your doctor? This might not be the right one for you to take and you may need to try a different one.

Been on suboxones for over a year. I stopped taking them for a week because of some dental work. I was in so much pain needing a root canal and I realized that no matter how many hydrocodones I took, it did nothing for pain. I am thinking it's because I've been on suboxones. Anyway, I want to start back on suboxones, but I am nervous to when to start taking them. The last time I took hydrocodone was about 17 hours ago. I do not feel any withdrawal symptoms from stopping them. When would I be safe to take my suboxone? ## Hello, Ricsgirl! How are you? Suboxone actually contains 2 ingredients, the opiate Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which neutralizes other opiates to help prevent their abuse, while someone is under treatment with it. The Naloxone is most likely why the Hydrocodone d...
