This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. But the question is whether the drug you have kept happens to be one of these drugs from the study... (I have...

I have a chronic back pain, and have many Rx from 2005. Could I still use them? How old is too old? ## As with anything, whether it be drugs, food or drink, you should not take them if they are out of date. The date is on the packet for your safety, and you could experience more adverse effects from taking out of date medication. Also most medications can begin to loose their effectiveness at any time passed the expiration date (it would be difficult to pinpoint exactly when it starts degrading), so it would be best in your case to just request a new prescription given the length of time it has been out of date. However, if you'd really like to be certain about the pills degradation, you would have to take them to a lab and have them analyzed for quality. I don't know how to go ...

I have 15 mg Daytrana patches that expired July 2015. Are they still safe to use? My reason for this, Daytrana is in shortage supply wise throughout the US due to a recall in 2014. How safe is it to use Tribedoce injection after the expiration date? This injection is Complejo B and Diclofenaco solution. Need to know if recommended to use after expiration date ## No, it is not recommended. I was given these meds back in November after having surgery on my left ring finger and was wondering if it was safe for me to take them now? Medications start to lose effectiveness over time, so it's not going to work as well, since it's been expired for 2 years. Beyond that, you need to see your doctor, get on a good, non-expired medication and stick with it. There is no cure for high blood pressure, it has to be continually controlled and you can't just take a medication until it's at normal levels and then stop, because it will go up, again. The medications also take time to reach their full level of efficacy in the body, so they aren't something you can just take as ...
