can you use it pass the date on the bottle? ## To answer your first question, the Hydrocodone + Ibuprofen is a semi-synthetic opioid and NSAID combination, primarily used to treat moderate to severe pain. Regarding the expiration date, if it's been stored properly, then it's probably going to be good for the next few years or more. According to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. Source: health.harvard.edu/fhg/updates/update1103a.shtml I hope this info helps! ## Hydrocodone with Ibuprofen, a generic for Vicoprofen, is a narcotic analgesic. Learn more Vicoprofen details here. My 90 year old mother has short term memory problems - badly! She claims the pill for pain that Dr. recently prescibed (Ibuprofen 600mg LEG) makes her confused. I am familiar with Ibuprofen, but I do not know what the LEG stands for. Does this prescription drug contain any narcotic? Or is it just Ibuprofen? What does the LEG stand for? Thanks! ## Hello, Bob! I have had ulcers (bleeding) but am fine now. Can I take Ibuprofen 600mg? I am concerned that it may cause bleeding again... Also, is ibuprofen 600mg a narcotic? ## No, it is not a narcotic. This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and, yes, it does increase the risk of bleeding, stomach irritation, and ulceration, or worsening existing ulcers, according to FDA reports. It would be best to check with your doctor to discover what medication is safe for you take. You may need to stick with one that is milder, such as Tylenol/Acetaminophen. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You might have seen this on another post but am asking about Ibuprofen and Tylenol (no other variations) combined. My post was moved to a not as appropriate post as I was hoping it would be... Is it...

How many ibuprofen and acetaminophen equal 1 Vicodin ## They are not equivalent. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and Acetaminophen is an analgesic and antipyretic, however, Vicodin contains the narcotic Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, so they just aren't comparable. I have a really bad tooth pain is hydrocodone-ibuprofen 7.5 good for the pain my doctor put me on them in the pass but trying to see if they are any good for a really bad tooth pain ## Hydrocodone with Ibuprofen is a generic for Vicoprofen, which is a narcotic analgesic, so it can treat various types of pain. However, you do need to see a dentist, because this medication may relieve pain, but it is not going to resolve the underlying issue that has caused the dental pain, such as an infection due to a deep cary. Which means that the pain will just keep returning, if the problem isn't corrected and any possible infection treated with an antibiotic. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth...

I took 400 mg of Advil about 2 hours ago while eating. When is it safe to take a 5/325 mg Percocet? I had a minor surgery on a Bartholin cyst last night. ## Hello, Smith! How are you? Sorry about the cyst, those are very painful. I had one a few years ago, but thankfully, it went away on its own. There are no interactions or problems listed, that I can find, between these medications, so it should be okay to take the Percocet, unless your doctor says otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I will be having wisdom teeth pulled. I would like to know what options are availiable for non narcotic pain relief. Preferably the strongest. I will be able to get a prescription, but I would like to avoid opiates or opioids. ## Wow, that's kind of difficult, because knocking out the opiates leaves only options for minimal pain relief. In many cases, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory would be prescribed, such as just a strong dose of Ibuprofen, but that can depend on how complicated the extractions are and how much you're bleeding afterwards. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. Are they being done in office, or as surgical extractions?

I just took tylenol with codeine4 for tooth pain. but pain still there what else can I take can i take ibuprofen 200mg ## Hello, Doodle! How are you doing? I'm taking Norco 10/325 for a hip replacement but I have a bad toothache so should I take Tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain until I can get to the dentist next week? ## Hello, Diane! How are you? Norco actually contains 2 active ingredients, Hydrocodone which is a narcotic, and Acetaminophen, which is the pharmaceutical name for Tylenol. Thus, it would not be safe to double up on it. Additionally, the Norco itself should actually help, it is commonly prescribed for toothaches. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. When will you be seeing your dentist?

Is Ibuprofen 500 mg equivalent to Hydrocodone 500 mg? ## The answer to your question is no. Although these are two completely different medications, they are often sold in combination with one another to form a stronger pain medication. Prescription ibuprofen is used to relieve "mild to moderate pain", while some hydrocodone products are used to relieve "moderate to severe pain". Other hydrocodone products are used to relieve cough. Additionally, Ibuprofen is in a class of medications called NSAIDs. It works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation. Hydrocodone is in a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) analgesics and in a class of medications called antitussives. Hydrocodone relieves pain by changing the w...
