How are you? The withdrawal effects may last for a couple of weeks, perhaps up to a month. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, diarrhea, fever, chills and anxiety. Godsaven, it can vary from person to person, while Oxycodone does work well for some people, that is not t...

I’m taking hydrocodone for sciatica until I get approval for my injection. Now I’m having severe nausea, constipation, dizziness and a bout of Afib. Anyone else face this horrible situation? Thanks. ## It is an opiate, and they are known to raise the risk of someone experiencing Afib, according to FDA reports. The nausea, dizziness, and constipation are also common side effects, along with headache, and dry mouth. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. What injection are you looking into? Can you post back and be more specific? That would enable me to provide you with more information. Are you on any other medications?

I had two glasses of wine the last one about 2hrs ago. How long should I wait before taking a hydrocodone ## Hello, Allen! How are you? Since the are both depressants, it can be dangerous to mix alcohol, while taking opiates. It would be best to wait a full 24 hours, before taking your medication, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. You're usually instructed not to drink at all, while taking this class of medications. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it really hydrocone 10- 325 generic lortab??? ## Lortab, Norco and Vicodin all have hydrocodone and tylenol in them So yes, hydrocodone and tylenol is generic for Lortab. ## Hello, Chic! How are you? What BL has posted is correct. However, if you're asking about the tablet with the N S1 marking, it is manufactured by Nostrum Laboratories and they list it as containing 1mg of Sucralfate, so it is not any type of opiate. The FDA classifies this as an anti-ulcer medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, backache, constipation and indigestion. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Well I have been taking hydros, for a while now and it's like I'm have problems getting off of them. But the doctor perceived me some tyolanal 3s 30mgs.

Hey y all. So I ran out of my suboxine. Took a half last night actually evening. Around 5 pm. Have some loratabs left, from a previous script. In a serious amount of pain. Don't want to hurt myself but need something to give. Tha ks ## If you've been on Suboxone, it will take about 3 days, before other opiates will work for you, again. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I took my first Contrave this morning and it will be my last! I am on long-term hydrocodone due to spinal stenosis. My doctor told me I would have more pain due to the opioid blockers in Contrave. However I got hit with stomach cramps, severe diarrhea, chills, and terrible nausea (sitting on the loo with my head in a waste basket). Is this why people lose weight, because they're so nauseous they want to die? Maybe remembering how horrible I felt will help me curb my bad eating habits because I wouldn't take another Contrave if I were at gunpoint!! ## Hello, Pam! How are you? I think that what you experienced was actually precipitated withdrawal caused by the opiate blocker in it. Generally, these medications should not be given to someone that is on an opiate, unless they are al...

does a narco 10/325mg have oxycodone or opiates in it? ## It does contain an opiate, but it is not Oxycodone. Norco 10/325 means that it contains 325ms of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, which is the narcotic opiate. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Side effects of getting off of hydro codons ## I haven't taken Hydro's for 5 days. The only side effect I'm having is a lot of fatigue. I don't want to do anything because I get so tired and a little restlessness at night. Before I go to bed, I drink a cup of Sleepy Time tea, take one Passion Flower pill 250MG & before I know it, I want to go to bed. The side effects that some people may experience when you stop taking Hydros may be: cold flashes w/goose bumps, excessive yawning or sneezing, extreme drowsiness, diarrhea, insomnia, involuntary leg movements, mood changes, muscle and bone pain, sweats and strong drug craving. Go to google and ck all this out. Good luck my friend. Be strong. ## A SUGGESTION TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE TRYING TO FIGHT WITHDRAWAL FROM OPIATES: Go...

What is stronger and how do these 2 drugs compare.....10/325 hydrocodone vs. tramadol 50 mg ## You really can't compare them, since they aren't in the same drug classes. The Hydrocodone in the Vicodin/Lortab is a potent narcotic analgesic. But the Tramadol is just a centrally acting analgesic, though it is derived from an opiate, it is nowhere near as strong and effective as the opiate narcotic class. Both can be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can learn more Vicodin details here and you can learn more Tramadol details here. Which one has been prescribed for you?

I take Lortab 10's, Fentanyl 100mg patch every 3 days and Ibuprofen. I stay in constant pain and wanted to know what I could switch to that would be stronger and help with my constant pain. I've been on all 3 medicines and alot of other medicine (not pain medicine) for over 3yrs. ## Yes, it only takes 6.67mgs of Oxycodone to equal each 10mgs of Hydrocodone, so the Percocet would be stronger. Learn more Percocet details here. Oxycodone is also available by itself, without the Acetaminophen, in a regular release formulation, so you also may want to ask your doctor about that. It is another narcotic opiate, so it also has the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What is a toxic dose of hydrocodone at one time if the acetometophen dose isn't over 1000mgs, I'm asking only this question purely only on hydrococone alone what is a lethal dose for my educational purpose only do I need to know this question? ## There is actually no answer that can be given to this question. The toxic amount will vary from person to person, depending on their tolerance to opiates and their own body. One person may overdose on a very small amount, such as the 10mgs you mentioned, but someone else that has taken narcotics regularly may require very high amounts of it to do so. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. Are there any other questions? ## If I'm taking 2 or more of 10mg/325mg of hydrocodone recreationally is it lethal? I don't want to overdose, if...

I seem to have a very smart Doctor. He prescribed Norco 10-325 for post surgical pain. The first bottle gave me nothing but relief. The refill, at a different pharmacy, caused unbelievable itching all over and down my throat. I called and told him he had me look up the mfgr on the bottle. It was Qua. He said my problem is the dye used in the second batch. He re prescribed to the original pharmacy and got the Norco manufactured by Watson. If you are taking an opiate that is making you itch, have your doctor re prescribe from a pharmacy that uses the pill made by a different mfgr. You are probably not allergic to opiates or Codiene after all. ## Hello, Charliemike! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you experienced. However, I would like to clarify that while this may be ...

I fell and hurt my knee. Now it is swollen. I believe it has fluid in it. Will a medication like hydrocodone help get the fluid out? ## Not, it is an opiate narcotic that is used to treat or prevent pain. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need an anti-inflammatory to reduce the swelling and help with the pain. How bad is it hurting?

Hello, I know someone who is prescribed Hydrocodone-- 10mg-325 acetaminophen mg and Morphine-15mg. This person said on a "good day" they take 60mg of hydrocodone which would be 1950 mg acetaminophen as well as the 30 mg of morphine a day- again on a good day. I do not know much about all of this- so my question is- how dangerous is this? Thanks for all your help! ## It being dangerous, or not, depends on the person and their tolerance to opiates. If they have been taking them for awhile and their doctor has prescribed them this way, things are most likely fine. The biggest issue with the medications and amounts you've mentioned would actually be due to the Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that you should not exceed 1,000mgs of it per any 8 hour time period, and no more than 3,00...

I have diabetic neuropathy and uncontrolled sugar levels. I have been on norco for about four years and now my doctor said she has cut my prescription in half and sometimes won't refill it at all because she said it is dangerous if your sugars are out of control. Is this true and why has it never been mentioned before? ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? Some of its typical side effects may mask the symptoms of low blood sugar. For example, the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and drowsiness… which could also be symptoms of hypoglycemia. Thus, if someone thinks their only experiencing them due to the opiate and doesn't check their blood sugar levels, they could drop low and may end up in a coma. What do you take for your diabetes? What k...

I read many articles claiming that the opiate portion of a Vicodin tablet is in the specks. Any truth? ## Hello, Demetria! How are you? No, it is not true. They colored specks are exactly that, just colored specks that the manufacturer used to make their pills look different than all the others on the market. How a tablet looks is entirely up to their whit and whim. The Medication, however, is dispersed throughout the entire tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Im wondering why I would be able to take darvacett & percocetts but I cant take vicodin. Arent theese medications all the same? Would the fact that I have a codeine allergy make a difference? Thanks. ## They are all opiate medications, but not all the same. Darvocet, which is no longer available contained Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene, Percocet contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, while Vicodin contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. What problem do you experience, when you take Vicodin? Some work better for some people than others and some do cause more or worse side effects in some people, it really just depends on your body chemistry. That's why there are usually several options available in any given therapeutic category. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic an...

Usually, you have to wait about 72 hours, after taking it, before other opiates will be effective, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. I have been on Hydrocodone for a fractured neck from a motorcycle accident. I am now off after having terrible withdrawal symptoms. This drug is very very addictive and your system will become immune to it very quickly if taken long term. I am now on Ultram which is a form of narcotic but not addictive. Really helps a lot. ## Ultram is not really a narcotic, they classify it as one because it is dervice from an Opiate, however its properties are actually those of an antiinflammatory. And yes. Hydrocodone is very addictive, though it you were taking it as prescribed by your doctor, they should have helped you taper off and minimize the withdrawal effects. ## I'm going to respond to Verwon, even though his post is 9 yrs old, just in case someone has the same problem now.
