I was given a prescription at my local hospital for Percocet 325/5mg when I had a gallstone attack. How would I possibly end up with Guaifenesin 400mg? ## You should not have. Did you double check with the doctor and pharmacy? Percocet is an opiate narcotic that is used to treat pain, and guaifenesin is definitely not. The FDA warns that Percocet carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Some people do believe that Guaifenesin helps with Fibromyalgia, but other studies have not proven that.

it is oblong but flat on one end. Pink on one side, white on the other blue specs throughout. One side says Magnum, one side says 357. Is this Vicodin? If not, what is it? TIA! ## NO! red liquid ## This is a cough suppressant and expectorant that contains Codeine and Guaifenesin. Since the Codeine is a narcotic, it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. I took twice the dose of this and I got no relief from my coughing and chest congestion. What now?? ## This contains Codeine, a narcotic that is sometimes used to help relieve coughing and Guaifenesin, a decongestant. That said, doubling up on the dosage can be dangerous, this should only be used according to your doctor's prescribing instructions. Common side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. We are also not medical professionals, so we cannot suggest a possible treatment, have you asked your doctor what they think you should do? cough syrup, available in pharmacies in USA, but not listed in PDR. Unsure of ingredients, manufacturer or spelling. I don't believe it contains narcotics. ## I think the med you're referring to is Mytussin DAC. It contains the ingredients Codeine + Guaifenesin + Pseudoephedrine (yes, it contains a narcotic) ## Troy is correct. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and nervousness. Are there any questions I can help with?

it was prescribed to me for a bad cough im just wondering if it has codeine in it thanks ## One dosage had me very dizzy and woozy for awhile. ## Hi Krusher, Based on my research, this medication does contain Codeine as well as Guaifenesin. Codeine is a narcotics and is used as a cough suppressant that affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex. Guaifenesin works as an expectorant. It helps loosen congestion in your chest and throat, making it easier to cough out through your mouth. Some side effects include: dizziness, drowsiness, headache, warmth, redness, or tingling under your skin, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, constipation, skin rash or itching. Seek emergency medical attention if you experience any of the following serious side effects: severe dizziness or drow...

What is the closest over the countet medicine ## What is the closest over the counter medicine to tussi organdin ## Hello, Tobey! How are you? There is nothing available over the counter that is comparative, since one of the ingredients in this is Codeine, which the fad classifies as a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It is only available by prescription. The Guaifenesin is available over the counter, but it likely won't work as well, without the Codeine. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My apologies! That should read FDA, not fad.

I GOT THIS MED FOR A CHECK INFECTION LAST YEAR. WHY CAN'T MY PHARMACIST FIND IT NOW AND HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO CHERATUSSION AC SYRUP? ## The Hydrocodone APAP shows that it also contains Acetaminophen with the narcotic, this type of syrup/suspension is usually given to treat cough, fever and pain. The only thing it would do for an infection is treat the pain and fever that it may cause, it wouldn't actually treat the infection itself. The Cheratussin AC contains Codeine and Guaifenesin, so it isn't the same, because this would be used mostly to treat cough and cold symptoms. Your pharmacist should be able to find the Hydrocodone/APAP, but do you actually have a prescription for it, or are you just asking them to find it? If you're just asking about it, they may not be giv...

Can my 8 year old take benadryl if she took cheratussin 3 hours ago. ## Hi, Shelbie! I don't think combining them would be a good idea, unless her doctor recommended that you do so. The reason I am saying this is because the Cheratussin AC contains Guaifenesin and Codeine. The Codeine is a narcotic, so it can cause depression of the central nervous system, especially in children. Learn more Codeine details here and you can learn more Guaifenesin details here. The Benadryl can also cause that, so it may be too much for an 8 year old child and could put them in danger. Learn more Benadryl details here. How is she feeling?

Oblong in shap color rosy red. Has codien Phos/Guaifen Exthex. Generic for Brontex ## Hello, Tam! How are you? That is correct and to add some specifics for others, the prescription drug databases list this as containing 10mgs of Codeine and 300mgs of Guaifenesin, this combination is most commonly used as a cough suppressant. The FDA also warns that this is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I've found a white oblong pill with rounded ends. It's embossed with "L404" on one side, while the other side is plain. Thank you in advance for any help identifying it. ## I think that the imprint being reported is actually L484 instead of L404. Is it possible that the '8' is just worn down? If so, then the tablet in question is actually just an over the counter pain reliever containing Acetaminophen 500 mg (not a narcotic). NDC 49348-042 among others. Inactive Ingredients: - Carnauba Wax - Starch, Corn - Hypromelloses - Polyethylene Glycols - Povidones - Stearic Acid Ref: DailyMed ## I believe your pill is Acetaminophen 325mg, Dextromethorphan 15mg, Guaifenesin 200mg, phenylephrine 5mg, which are active ingredients in Cold PE Severe Congestion, an OTC combo. #...
