I am addicted to opiates for pain. I abuse the oxy that I get. Would Sub or Methatdone be better for me with regards to pain? My husband has a history with drugs and has been on Methadone. How long does it take to get off subsys, I have been on this for over 15 years for chronic nerve damage. What are the withdrawals and what other pain relief is instead of this. ## Hello, Jean! (were you prescribed this by your doctor?) If you're dealing with muscle pain, have you considered safer over-the-counter products such as Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, etc? Have been using Mesulid for chronic knee pain from osteoarthritis. It has been the only medication that has stopped the inflammation and pain. I was prescribed from a pharmacy in Greece. Here in the states I can't get it. ## I experienced severe muscle spasms in the States after Physical Therapy for my upper back. We traveled to Greece in August of 2009, a week after the symptoms first appeared, and while I was still in incredible physical pain. I read that not many people use doxepin...I have roaming body pain after a few hours of sleep...Because of an ele., burn of 13,800 volts back in 1991...I have tried to slowly get off the pill...but with in 2 or 3 weeks my night time pain is with me all night...Dose any of you use this pill for the same reason...pain...I have used as high as 150 mg ... but have been on 75mg for 10 years now... ## Doxepin is typically a sleep aid, I have been on as high a dose as 300 mg a day. Pain is better controlled by gabapentin or some of the newer drugs like lyrica or cymbalta. I know about pain as I have fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, a screwed up knee and nueroma in my feet. You seriously need to speak with your doctor or a pharmacist. Pain can be overcome with the right meds.

My Dr. Sucks... I can't get 1mg of pain medication. Have sciatic pain, low back and left hip pains. AS well as a torn shoulder and in creased pain in neck and shoulders. Impingement under the collar bone. SUCKS.. some terrible pain. My Dr gave me prednisone, gabapentin as well as tick tacks.. may as well all been tic tacks.. Need a Dr. who isn't afraid to give an adult pain medications. ## Did you ever have any luck finding someone? I'm in the same boat
