I am 65 year old. I am having severe problems with dry cough. It comes once in every year. It lasts for 2 months. Is it OK to take MOX 500 capsules as antibiotic and for how many days. ## Antibiotics will only help with bacterial infections, they will not help with the viruses that cause colds, or flu. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Additionally, taking it when it is not appropriate creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Are you on any other medications?
