ativan 1mg
little white pill persribed for nerves ## I am taking a half of a 1 mg Ativan pill for sleeping. Can this small amount become addictive? ## Ativan contains the active ingredient Lorazepam, this is a Benzodiazepine and these can be highly addictive. However, if you are using it as prescribed, then what you are really going to have to deal with is dependence, rather than addiction. Dependence occurs when your body becomes used to and reliant upon some substance. This can happen with anything you ingest regularly, even a routine morning cup of orange juice. If you stop ingesting it, suddenly, they you will experience some withdrawal symptoms, but nothing as severe as if you were abusing the medication. Some of this medications most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness... ...

Ativan Vs Xanax
If Xanax and Ativan are both benzodiazapines, why did the Ativan work to relieve anxiety without causing depression but the Xanax didn't? ## It really depends on the person and how your body reacts to it. Just as an example, I'm fine with a low dose .5mg of Ativan, but if I take anything higher it makes me depressed and I feel very groggy for several days afterwards. However, there are other people that use it just fine without any problems. You really just have to figure out what works for you. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Thank you for the information. It was helpful. How long have you taken Ativan? I also experienced the mild depression when I took a bit extra. I hate drugs and don't have an addictive nature. However, I am a little afraid of getting off a... ...

Shelf Life Of Ativan
I am a hospice nurse and the discussion has come up as to the shelf life of the narcotics that we use such as Ativan,Morphine, Dilaudid. Is there a blanket time that we can use for all narcotics that have expired expiration dates on the label. ## Okay first, Ativan is not a narcotic, it contains the active ingredient Lorazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine, so rather than treating pain, it is used to treat anxiety, nervous disorders and some severe cases of insomnia. Learn more: And second no, dispensing expired medications to your patients would be considered illegal under U.S. law. Are there any other questions? ...

I have been taking one of each in order to take the edge off the anti depressant (Aspen Escitalopram.), is that too much? ## I really cannot say, you didn't say how high of a dosage you were taking of anything. Have these all been prescribed by your doctor? Do you have any other medical conditions and is this all the medications you are taking? Can I Take Ativan 0 5 With Ip 119
can i take my regular dose of 0.5 ativan with ip 119? ## Have you checked with your doctor, or pharmacist? Ativan contains Lorazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine and taking it with the Hydrocodone in the other tablets may cause increased depression of the central nervous system, which may result in lowered blood pressure, pulse rate and respiratory rate. Thus, you should check with your doctor, before mixing them. ...

Ativan (Lorazepam) Side Effects
Could someone please tell me if Ativan can cause glazing look in the eyes? ## Absolutely, it is a Benzodiapine, the same drug class as Xanax or Valium. It tends to cause an initial spaciness in people who have not adjusted to taking the med, or have recently experienced a dosage change. These type of side effects usually wear off in about 2 weeks, give or take a few days to account for a person's individual body chemistry and the way it may process a medication. For more side effect info and etc. here's a link to the drug monograph: Ativan Info Click Here Hope that helps! ## Check the Fentanyl thread for some info on generic v brand name. Verwon was very helpful to me! ## Thanks Donna. I also made a new post, copying in the info from the original article where I learned the trut... ...

toprol with ativan on plane trip
I'm going on a long plane trip to Italy. Taking Lisinipril (10 mg a.m) toprol xl (25 mg) am and p.m. Dr. has given me Ativan (1 mg) for anxiety. I'm very worried about mixing these 3 all at one time. Also concerned about ativan not lasting through 16 hrs of trip. Any suggestions?? First time for Ativan. The closer the trip gets the more anxious I am. What about splitting up the dose of Ativan ?. ## To me Adavan sux, it is the weakest of the top 5 benzos, xanex is best, Vallium next, Kolonipin is dangerious if you're not used to it, sfter that you buid up a fast tollerance where you ca eat it like popcorn and not even feel it. ## Toprol/Ativan. SORRY I POSTED 2 TIMES, COULDN'T FIND FIRST ONE.! ...

Klonopin, Clonazapam, Xanax, Ativan
Any mood altering meds should be tapered off slowly. Talk to your doctor to see how you should slowly adjust your dosage. Check your meds to see if they are benzodiazapines, like Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Clonazapam etc (they have different names for the brand vs the generic, so check your meds to see what types they are.) They drugs can be addictive and do cause serious withdrawal symptoms. I had seizures when I quit Xanax cold turkey. I am now on Ativan, but a low dose that I only take when I REALLY need it to help with panic attacks and panic related sleeplessness. The more you take these meds, the less they work and the more problems they cause when you stop taking them. I used to only sleep an hour or so a night despite the sleeping pills I was on and the xanax. If you can get on an... ...

i need to understand what is the strongest benzo
What is the weakest and strongest Benson between Xanax klonopin and ativan ## Hi amber, I may not have conclusive information, but based on what I could gather from other people's experience, the most potent one is said to be Xanax, followed close-behind by Klonopin, and then Ativan. Ironically in the exact order you listed them as. Hopefully someone else on here with personal experience can verify the accuracy of this, but to the best of my knowledge it is what it is. :) I hope this helps! ...

the difference between 1mg ativan & 1mg xanax
i have recently been prescribed ativan which seems to help some, but i am wondering if xanax would work better ## they are roughly equivalent, but Xanax hits the nervous system faster, and gets out of you system faster. Both good for panic, crappy for sleep, wouldn't use either for persistant symptoms of anxiety. ## Just to add some further information.... A lot of it can also depend on the individual involved, one may not work for them, while another might, so sometimes it's really just a matter of trial and error to see which medication works for you. I'm going to include the link for information on them, in case anyone else is looking for more details and wants to know which ones are available. You can learn more Benzodiazepine details here. Are there any questions or comm... ...

WILL ATIVAN 2MG AND COUGH SYRUP DAMAGE MY LIVER AS I AM SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC HEPATIC LIVER DAMAGE AND LOOSE MY LIFE ## Lorazepam active ingredient in Ativan may be safer than most benzodiazepines in patients with impaired liver function. Like oxazepam it does not require hepatic oxidation, but only hepatic glucuronidation into lorazepam-glucuronide. Therefore, impaired liver function is unlikely to result in lorazepam accumulation to an extent causing adverse reactions. To learn more click on the link below... I was not able to locate if Phensidyl is bad for your liver, that does not mean that it's not. I did find common side effects while taking Phencidly which are, confusion, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of physical coordination, stomach pain, numbness of fingers and toes, na... ...

Do not stop using benzo's--taper off please
Benzo's are a wonder drug for cetain disorders--You can very easily get dependant and stopping abruptly can lead to seizures. Please see a physician who you trust if you think you are getting mentally dependent. You are already physically dependent. People- benzo's ( valium, librium ,xanax ,ativan, klonipin, etc) are not a good drug to get hooked on. ## I have been taking 6 mil of Klonopin for almost 6 years and I want to get off of it but I don't know how to wean myself off of it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Beverly ## Please see your doctor before trying to stop any prescription drug, some drugs can have severe adverse effects if you stop them too abruptly. ...
