Is Alprazolam A Sleeping Tablet

I am 48 years old... I have a sleeping problem and depression... Doctor told me to take Alprazolam .25mg but I feel like I am not getting a very deep sleep. So if I take two or three .25mg, is it safe for me? Please advise. ## No it is not a sleeping pill and is not safe to take in amounts not prescribed by your doctor. The dose you are taking is relatively small but if you double or triple up, when you run out the rebound anxiety will be that much stronger and can even lead to withdrawal problems ## Asis, NO it is not a sleeping pill. i take xanax daily and have been for years . I have taken as few as 2 and as much as 4 rarely 5. . They only make me sleepy if i take more than 3 a day . i took one that looked diff than the ones I normally take. It was still blue and round but larger and scored so much so it looked like it would be easier to break in 1/2.. some of them are scored but they crumble if you try yo break them in 1/2. Theyhad markings on both sides but don't remember & I have been sleeping on and off for 24 hours. I may sleep 5-6 hours a night but VERY RARELY ANY MORE . I even drank a Red Bull one time and still went to sleep . i feel i could go to sleep now. ## Well go to sleep than but did you have a specific question? I've been prescribed Azor 0,25 as a calming tablet labelled one a day. I'm breastfeeding a 10 month old boy. I am anxious all most all the time, not sleeping well so last week my Dr prescribed me melotonin 6mg for night and thiamine for in the morning because of panic attacks. My memory is foggy, I have very little energy and might be depressed. Will this Azor / combination of things help and is it ok while breastfeeding ? It's 0,25g a white pill. I am suffering sleepless with psychological disorder..... that time I was consulting a psychiatric doctor... then I was told to the doctor about my sleeping problem.... he suuggested ALPRAX 0.5mg... from that time to present day varaku minimum 5 pills taking to sleep... maximum 10 or more pills I was taken sometime... now I have a very big doubt... this is Right or Wrong.... ## Have no doubt, this is very wrong. You can take a bunch more per day and probably be fine. When you run out however all those pills can place you in Withdrawal and you might become very sick. Doctor is wiening me off Alprazolam. My biggest concern is sleeping. Is there another medicine that is not in the bens. class that will work for sleeping? ## Try Trazadone. There are many other medicines that cause sleepiness. Even OTC medicine and herbal medicine could possibly help you. I have a peach-ish colored bar. It has the R039 on it but doesn't taste like anything and I've never seen a xanax like this before. Its real skinny and an off-white peach color. I was prescribe alprazolam 1mg, by my doctor. I always been taking 0.5 mg peach pill made by Sandoz, always feel good on them. I moved and doctor was over hour away, he advise me to split the pill in half to make it 0.5 mg, this way I will have supply for longer period of time. Also I change pharmacy, when I fill my prescription, I recived blue pills made by Dava, I was splitting them up to 2016, I feel good on them to some time, and after few months they start to have wierd effect on me, I was more deppresed, start having some difficulty breathing, anxiety, panick attacks, I stop sleeping at night, they did help little but not much any more, and now I run from them, and have to find new doctor in town.
