Is Acetaminophen The Same As Aspirin

Ok, here's the deal - In the past I've taken Excedrin Migraine, which proved to be very effective at killing a bad headache. It combines Acetaminophen, Aspirin, and Caffeine in decent doses. Now I basically have a sensitivity to caffeine, and the med makes me feel pretty weird when I take it. So I'm just thinking of taking the Acetaminophen and Aspirin ingredients separately so that I can have the same kind of med without the caffeine. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any products in the stores which just have those two ingredients without caffeine being added in there. Thoughts anyone? Is there an OTC med out there that I missed which contains the ingredients I'm looking for? If not, could it be considered pretty safe to take the medications separately but ...

I would like to know if aspirin is in oxycodone. My husband has back pain and I have oxycodone/acetaminophen5-325 I use for arthritic pain. He is allergic to aspirin. So just to reiterate, there is no Aspirin in Oxycodone. Oxycodone is quite simply Oxycodone by itself.... Oxycodone + Acetaminophen on the other hand, is a different combination med (also known as Percocet), which does not contain any Aspirin either... My pharm. switched me from hydrocone 10-650, to hydrocone 10-325 saying it had something to do with the FDA cutting back on the amount of aspirin I was getting. Is this true or just hogwash, Steve. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? It's actually Acetaminophen, not Aspirin, but yes, it is true. Last year, the FDA requested that the amount of Acetaminophen in all combination prescription medications be lowered to contain no more than 325mgs per dose. Many people think it is safe, since it's available over the counter and will take several tablets, at once, if they don't get pain relief with one, but what they don't realize is that it can cause fatal toxicity if too much is taken in any 24 hour period. I am on Hydfrocodone, though Drs change name, same med. so people can brag about getting a "blue", "yellow", or white pill. All BS. I can't take aspirin so I have been taking aspirin free excedrin. All of a sudden I can't find it anywhere. Am told that they recalled it because they found glass in it. ## We did not take anything off the market, this is an information only website, this site does not manufacture, nor sell any products, of any type. Is there aspirin in norco ## Hi sue, The answer to your question is no. Norco contains: Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen I think acetaminophen is commonly misconstrued as being aspirin, however they are not the same. Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID) where as acetaminophen is not. I hope this info helps! ## Acetaminophen (Tylenol) has no anti- inflammatory ability, so is NOT an NSAID. Having said that, it is otherwise, very similar in effect. It's good for fever, headache, and some pains but not those caused by inflammation.

You may still be able to take Acetaminophen, even if you're allergic to Aspirin. As to this tablet, Rhodes Pharmaceuticals lists it as just containing 15mgs of Oxycodone.
