I will say that in my honest opinion, nothing about using parasites (especially from swine) sounds safe at all. I have irritable bowel syndrome and end up with distended, miserable abdomen and the inability to go to the toilet at all. The first time I had this, I was living in France, diagnosed and treated with Debridat (Trimebutine) and Movicol (a stool softener). I was so happy to get rid of this miserable problem. I began taking remeron for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome. 7.5 mg x 2 per day. Noticed my heart began racing. Called doc asked if this was a side affect. He said don't worry your body is just getting used to remeron. It will adjust itself. That night woke up with terrifying hallucinations. Fell down two flights of stairs. Broke arm trying to get out by breaking a window. Bruises all over my body from falling down the steps. Back injured as well as neck. My nuts and thighs and both legs had huge black and blue marks. Doctor prescribed trepeline for treatment of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) about 5 years ago as its supposed to slow down my stomach digestion process. I have potassium level of 3.3 and was prescribed Pot Chlor Er(Klor-Con M20)Tb 20Meq but I have Irritable bowel syndrome and Gerd's and the medicine appears to be irritative to the stomach and esophagus. In addition I cannot swallow such a big thick pill. Is there a substitute which is liquid or powder? ## There are other potassium supplements available over the counter, but to be equivalent to this, you'd have to take a lot of them and the risk of them being irritating to your gastric system will still be there. That can actually be mitigated by making sure to take it with food, rather than on an empty stomach and will a full glass of water.
