I am on Methadone and they gave me Invokana for my diabetes. Ever since I took it my head burns, my hands and feet are tingling, burn & hurt so bad that my hand is red. I feel like I'm dying slowly. Could it be not working together? They think I got MS, but I said I wasn't like this until the Invokana was introduced. ## Invokana is known to have an increased risk causing amputations, the FDA has listed a prominent warning about it, is is also stated on the commercials, and drug information sheets. Does anybody take invokana and break the pills? I know they are not time released but i dont know if its safe to break them. I have dysphagia and cant swallow. thanks ## Looking at images of the pill, I'd presume that the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the tablet's composition. So since it's not time-released my personal opinion is that it should be fine to divide it into smaller pieces. My reasoning is that this is what would begin to happen naturally anyways as the tablet is metabolized. Time-released meds are different in that regard, but I have no reason to believe that breaking apart an IR drug in such a manner would cause any issues; other than each piece perhaps not being absorbed at the same due to taking it with food - and in this scenario may affect ...

I have Type II diabetes, and recently went on the drug Invokana. I have had amazing results. My FBS has gone from 269 to 104! Anyone else having such a good experience with the drug? ## Hello, Billy! I have been taking this medication since august 28, 2013. It is wonderful..I have lost weight in a way I had no been able to do in the past. I have no side effects. The big problem is getting insurance companies to pay for Invokana. I am allergic to Metformin which is the medication the insurance companies will pay for. ## Hello, Joni! How are you? Have you discussed the issue with your doctor and your insurance company? Usually, there is some procedure in place to apply for a special exception to get them to cover a medication they otherwise wouldn't, if your doctor supports your need for it and files the appropriate paperwork.

I took Invokana (100mg) for 1 year and have now stopped. My FBS is now over 240, where it had been 150-160 in the past year or so (without Invokana). My readings are above 200 all day, regardless of my food intake. I take 1g of Metformin twice a day and 10mg Glipizide twice a day and still have these numbers. I'm concerned that the Invokana use over the past year has biased my system to be strongly diabetic whereas before it was much less so. I realize it's been a year and my condition could have changed while taking the Invokana but there seems to be a rebound effect. Switched from Invokana to Jardiance 2 months ago. I had lost 3-4 pounds on Invokana. Since taking Jardiance I have lost an additional 7 pounds; at my lowest weight in over 30 years. Love it except for all the peeing. ## Weight loss is not listed as a side effect in FDA reports, but it is never easy to say how any given medication will actually affect anyone that takes it. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including dizziness, headache, hypoglycemia, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking Invokana 300 for about 19 months. Lately I've noticed slight numbness in my toes and ankles. I've also recently heard that Invokana is associated with increased toe, foot, and leg amputation. I have been type 2, for 10 years, 3 years ago I was put on Sitagliptin, then last year on Invokana, lost weight and also lowered sugar numbers, then instead of using diet and excercise I just used the tabets to keep sugars down, then sugars went to 8.7 HBAC1, was put on Victoza and both medications stopped, in last 3 months, my sugars on Victoza sky rocketed to 11.9 HBAC1. After a massive argument with the GP, I asked to be put back in Januvia and Invokana, my sugars over the last months have been in their 15 to 20, I took one tabet of each yesterday, and my number are in single figures, I have vowed to keep drinking more, do my excercises and also now go on a low carb diet, I am grateful for these new medications, without which my sugars was out of control, and my next option was Insulin

I am taking following medicines: For BP : Telma Am 40mg & Prolomet XL 50 MG - one each in the morning Telma AM 40 Mg & Prolomet XL 25 MG - one each in the night For Diabetes : Invokana 100 MG - one in the Morning with Tea & Glycomet 1GM - after Breakfast and Dinner. Sugar and BP i s reasonably under control. But I have swelling in the ankles and tightness , pain , sometimes numbness. I have been using medicine for triglycerides for 15 years. Triglycerides was 720 before starting the medicines when I was at 35 years of age. I used Tryglid for sometime and Lipikind F for sometime and now I have been using Crestor 10mg since 3 months. I am diabetic for 12 years and currently using Invokana 100 mg - tab and Amaryl-1mg - tab and Jalra 50mg/1000mg -2 tabs on each day.
