Hello, I cannot find any information on taking the supplement "Sam-e" (S-Adenosylmethionine) with warfarin. Would love to find out if this can be taken while on a blood thinner? ## Hello, Diana! How are you? It isn't advisable, the Mayo Clinic notes that SAMe can affect your risk of bleeding when taking with blood thinners, such as Warfarin or anticoagulants. interaction with xanax

I have taken 2 aleve and 1 xanax and want to take a prilosec for my indigestion. Is this ok? ## Sure it should be. what is the source of your indigestion? ## Just for the record, umm.edu's drug interaction tool does list a drug interaction between Xanax (alprazolam) and Prilosec (omeprazole). From what I'm reading, a combination of the two may result in increased blood levels of alprazolam, which in-turn may increase your risk of side effects. Ref: umm.edu/health/medical/drug-interaction-tool This does not necessarily mean that it's dangerous to take them both together. Your doctor should be able to adjust and/or monitor the dosing to help minimize your odds of developing certain side effects....

interaction with quinine

Hello. I am a care worker and one of my clients is a mid 50s gentleman with ms. I recently went through all his medication to look for risks, and noticed he's been taking zinc and magnesium with it. We moved the minerals to an other part of the day, so that should be ok, but now it turns out he's on quinine. The same doctor prescribed both. I know quinine can potentiate warfarin, but he's already on both, his gp knows this and the warfarin clinic is aware as well. What would you do? He wants to stopp taking the quinine, but i'm not so sure. He has his INR tested every second week atm. ## If they are monitoring him, then there is likely no need to make any change, as his Warfarin dosage has already been adjusted accordingly and is adjusted as needed. That's really the......

Interaction With Bupropion And Metoprolol Succ Er

I have been taking bupropion hcl 150 mg and my Dr has prescribed metoprolol succ er 50 mg is there a chance of interaction? ## Based on my research there are potentially unsafe drug interactions that apply to Metoprolol Succinate ER (metoprolol) and Bupropion. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Bupropion may increase the blood levels and effects of Metoprolol. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if you experience increased side effects or your condition changes. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor." interactions with lyrica or antibiotics

I've just been prescribed metanx for diabetic neuropathy and want to be sure there are not any interactions with lyrica or antibiotics. ## @dizzimom, According to umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there are no interactions listed between Metanx and Lyrica. However in order to determine if an antibiotic is ok, you'd need to know the specific name, because not all antibiotics are created equal. At least not in my experience, having tried several different types. I will say though, that a common antibiotic such as Amoxicllin didn't list any particular drug interactions with Metanx when I ran a search. Hope this helps! ## is amoxicilin can interact with diane 35?tanx...

interactions with theraflu

I would like to know if I can use theraflu with amoxicillin 500 mg? ## Hi Kara, According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Amoxicillin and the ingredients found in Theraflu (Acetaminophen + Diphenhydramine + Phenylephrine). While this does not necessarily mean that no interactions exist, it is my understanding that this combination is generally regarded as safe. I, myself have also taken this combination in the past without any notable side effects that I can recall. Nevertheless, if you have any doubts it's probably best to contact your doctor just to be sure. I hope this helps!...

Sun interaction with clotrimazole-betamethasone

Can I go tan? I only have used this for one week after what may have been an allergic reaction above my eyes (in upper lids and bellow brows along with three other small spots in neck and chest). It helped the swelling and peeling and seems to have cleared up. I am still taking it to prevent recurrence, as I believe it was an allergic reaction to a specific strain of medicinal cannabis which I have been prescribed for several years. Thank you from cold and wanting to tan in Maine. ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? It would be best not to do so since this medication could make your skin more sensitive to the effects of heat and light, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include redness, irritation, and flaking. How long will you be using it?...
