I am wondering if there have been cases where more than 10 mg ambien is needed to sleep. How much is too much? ## Ambien contains the active ingredient Zolpidem, it is usually used for the short term treatment of insomnia. The problem with it is that all of these types of medications can be habit forming, thus you should only use it as prescribed. If your current dosage is not working for you, then please speak to your doctor, there are other options available, including a time released Ambien, called Ambien CR. Some common side effects can include: nausea, hallucinations, euphoria and loss of libido, all of which can be aggravated if you take higher doses, as well. You can read more about this medication here: Did you have any other questions?

Took initial 6 pill dose last night as I ate dinner. (I thought that pack dosage was set up the same was as the other and I would take the other 5 tonight, 4 tomorrow etc etc) I then noticed tonight that I was supposed to be taking these throughout the day; after I just took 3. I did not take the other two. Should I just skip and then start the breakfast, lunch dinner routine for rest of packet? And leave the two from today out of the equation. ## Hello, Bobby! How are you? They don't have to be taken at various times, they can be taken all at once, unless your doctor has some specific reason for you not to do so. They are normally only spaced out to try to help minimize the side effects, taking them altogether can cause some serious nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness and inso...

hi. i'm suffering hormonal imbalance for 3 months and my ob told me to use althea for 6 months after using provera. i'm really afraid to use pills. is der any way to regulate my period without using those pills? ## For the best outcome and success, it is best to follow your doctor's instructions. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Why are you afraid to take them? It might be easier for you, if those specific issues are addressed. ## Should I continue tab meprate 10mg even if I experience brown spotting? It started after 10days of medication on meprate. I live in Taiwan and recently just finished a course of clomiphene citrate. But the instructions were in chinese so i think I may have taken it incorrectly. I took 1 tablet 3 times a day separately for 5 days. Was this incorrect and if it is does this mean it won't work? ## Hi everyone is different....my doc prescribed two tablets once a day for 5 days....start taking them on the first day of your menstrual cycle...hope that helps

I bought a bottle of serrapeptase, I read on different sites I could take 1 capsule 3 times a day a half hour before eating. The bottle I bought says take 1 capsule a day. So can I take 3 capsules a day or should I follow directions on the bottle? ## Hello, Ralph! How are you? What is the dosage? Usually, it's 10 to 60mgs a day, so it depends on the dosage you ordered, though it is always best to err on the side of caution and follow the directions on the bottle. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, skin rash, diarrhea and nosebleeds. ## The dosage on the bottle of serrapeptase is 20 mg. ## San po pwd mkabili ng serrapeptase? leyte help po..or po na site sa mga medicine. may bc problem din sis.. ## Where can we buy serrapeptase here in olongapo? {edit...

How and when should I apply Efudex to my face? ## This is a drug used to treat certain types of cancer. How often and how much to apply, depends on exactly where on your face (lips, nose, chin, etc) and what stage your lesions are in. Only you and your doctor can determine this. ## I am totally horrified to read efudix is being applied to the lips! It turned my forehead green and crusty and none of us should use this without first checking if we are allergic to its contents. I was told to put it all over my forehead for pre-cancerous skin and the reaction was truly horrific. I went to pharmacist about it and he said to stop it immediately. I dont think medics realize how we suffer and that this chemotherapy cream can do more harm than good. I used it about 8 years ago and today still ha...

Should this be taken with food or just water? ## This is a generic for Bactrim and, according to the monograph, there isn't a preference. However, it is well known that this antibiotic can be very rough on your stomach, so if it were me, I'd take it with a meal, or small snack to avoid the nausea and pain it can cause. Learn more Bactrim details here. I'm allergic to it and can't take it anymore, but the one time I did, it was quite harsh on my stomach and caused a lot of pain and irritation. And just as a warning, keep an eye out and contact your doctor immediately, if you develop a skin rash from it. Are there any other questions?

I just started my 2nd pack of sprintec and I have been bleeding for over 10wks. I had an IUD removed prior to starting OCs. After several visits to the Dr they finally found I was bleeding due to the IUD causing me to have no lining on my uterus. The Dr said for me to take 3/day for 4 days then 2/day and so on until I start my period again. Is this normal?! ## Hello, Candy! How are you? I have never heard of them being taken this way, but it would be best to follow your doctor's instructions, since they are specially trained to help with such issues. They may just be trying to boost your hormone levels to stabilize your uterine lining to stop the bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

My Prednisone Rx is not specific about the dosing instructions. It merely states take 3 tablets every day for allergic reaction (6 day supply). Do I take 1 tablet three times per day or do I take all 3 tablets at once. I asked the pharmacist at CVS and she claimed she had no idea how the doctor meant for me to take it and that I would need to contact the ER doctor who prescribed it. I was unable to reach the ER doctor and no one at the hospital has been able to answer the question . . . just like the pharmacist. Very confusing and frustrating that even when I'm willing to advocate for my own health concerns, I still can't get answers. Please tell me the most effective way to take this medication. ## Hello, Kim! How are you? Absent other instructions from the doctor, you can take...

I would like instructions on how to take this supplement. In the morning before meals, at night etc. The bottle just says take one daily. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Since it is a supplement, there really aren't any more specific instructions. If that's what they state on the label, then it likely doesn't matter what time of day you take it. You should also be aware that as a supplement, this has not actually been proven to aid in weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long can you be on Axcion pills? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? They are meant to be used for awhile, to aid in weight loss, but aren't intended to be taken on a long-term basis. You should follow your doctor's instructions for your own safety and health. Phoniermine is a stimulant medication, as listed by the FDA, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, anorexia and elevated blood pressure. I have recently been prescribed Carbamazepine 100mg and have been told to take 2 x 100mg/day for the first 2 weeks, and then to double the dosage to 4 tablets a day for 6 months. Has anyone tried halving it to just 1 per day for 2 weeks and then 2 per day for the 6 months? ## Why has it been prescribed? If your doctor prescribed it to prevent seizures, then it would be best to follow their dosing instructions for your own well being. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. Ref: Carbamazepine Information Why do you want to lower the dose? I cannot swallow pills. The instructions for taking Atorvastatin says do not crush or chew. Should I continue to take it this way? ## @flatball, From what I could gather, Atorvastatin only comes in tablet form, whereas you may just have to find a way to adhere to those instructions unless your doctor suggests otherwise. Another thought is to ask your doctor if dissolving the tablets in water would be an option as well? And lastly, if none of the above is suitable for your needs, then perhaps it would be best to find another alternative to Atorvastatin that comes in different dosage forms and without restrictions as to how it can be administered. A few medication names that might be worth considering in the same drug class of statins are: Simvastatin, Rosuvastatin, and Pravastatin - howe...

My mother suffers from dementia after a stroke 3 months ago. She now has a problem swallowing Plavix. What can I do? Can it be powdered and mixed with something palatable? ## Hi, Audrey! How are you? Sorry about the problems with your mom. As to the Plavix, you can crush and do that with any medication that isn't time released. So if isn't marked as being time released and there are no instructions on it stating that you shouldn't crush, break or chew it, then it should be okay. But since I am not familiar with all the formulations of medications where you live, I do want you to check with your pharmacist/chemist before doing it. Learn more Plavix details here. Pills were found on the ground & an open medicine bottle with the name torn off. Found on school property. How should I dispose of them? ## Hello, Kat! How are you? Th FDA disposal instructions say that they should be mixed with some undesirable substance, such as damp used coffee grounds or dirty cat litter, placed in a sealed container such as a coffee can and then disposed of with your regular garbage. Alternatively, you can take them to any pharmacy and they will dispose of them for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Pharmacies may no longer do that. Hello. My Dr. prescribed Wegovy today. I have not started it yet as I'm still waiting on insurance approval. I was wondering if anyone's Dr. told them a specific diet plan to follow? I have been eating extremely low carb for almost 2 years with some success in weight loss but not consistent. While talking to my Dr. she said to keep following that low carb diet. However, that doesn't make much sense to me knowing that she wants me to work out daily. I feel I need more substance than 50 carbs a day to be able to work out. Am I wrong? Even when I asked about adding back healthy carbs such as beans potatoes etc she advised against it.
