I've found that all of the legitimate ones are the same strength, however; since the generics use different inactive ingredients, and possibly different formulations of the active ingredient-alprazolam being a drug that tolerance develops quickly-even the smallest difference in formula can make ones "seem" to work better or "stronger." Before 1995 (the year they actually quit selling Marax to Americans here in the USA), it was manufactured by Pfizer and contained Amphetamine (10 or 100 mg dosages), Theophylline (bronchial dilate) and an Antihistamine.... The reason why they stopped using Amphetamine and replaced it with Ephedrine, is so they wouldn't get sued up the arse royally.... Why do you say that you are allergic? Because you break out? People usually break out with that Kind of product because they start taking doses that are too high. The same thing happened to me. Breaking out is like your body saying "ahhh, too much!". So what I have done is take much less than the indicated dose. Don't buy giant loaded pills.
