I have endometriosis And moved to Indiana from Florida last year. And they aren't giving me the meds I was previously on, even though my old pain management dr sent my records. I am in so much pain and not sure what else to do. Please help. This has been such a hard year with this pain. ## No dr has to prescribe you the same meds your previous dr did. Even with your medical records, there is no guarantee. ## Dr. A, at Summit Pain Management is great at listening to your needs. I'm already on psych meds, and even though I have severe back problems, doctors didn't want to give me anything. But he did. But I'm also doing injections and therapy

Is there a pain management doc in Indy that will see you without a referral? I have no family doc but have been seeing a pain management doc since '90's. Is taking away all pain meds except patches. Was taking 10/325 Hydrocodone per day with 25 fentanyl. Every doc I call to see if I can find someone to just leave me where I was requires a referral and records faxed from doctors office. I have my records but they won't take from me. Any help on this would be much appreciated. ## Indygirl, unfortunately there are some patients that try and alter their medical records. That is the reason they want your medical records to be sent directly from your previous drs office. If you can't find a dr that will take you without a referral, you may have to find a pcp. It also isn't...

My hubby needs one also ## Finding a pain clinic lately is very hard to do I am from ma but it's in every state unless your lucky enough to have chronic pain (stupid statement but true) you are going to have a wait in front of you which probably means detox. My clinic got shut down by the government. Anderson Indiana I recently had a elbow replacement surgery I need to find a pain management doctor can anybody help ## Hello, bcmack66! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Have you tried asking your surgeon or GP for a referral to someone? That might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? Another idea might be to try the social work department of your local hospital. They often have a list of doctors they will provide you with.

My family dr died the day before my appt. I have been going to him for 10 years and he had managed my pain with oxycontin and percocet. It seems a lot has changed in 10 years trying to find a dr and it seems that pain clinics that want to run you through mill with expensive unecesary tests are the only options. If anyone knows of a dr who is realistic and understand chronic pain in the Southern indiana or Louisville ky area any reccomendations would be appreciated. Thanks ## I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, a PCP is not going to be able to prescribe such medications for you. Anyone that requires them on a long-term ongoing basis will have to see a pain management specialist. There's just no longer any way around it and that means you...

I am in serious intractable pain that can only be treated efficaciously methadone and I need a doctor who will prescribe methadone ## Hello, Campbell! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. A general practice doctor won't be able to prescribe it for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you tried pain management, yet? There is no way to guarantee that any doctor will prescribe Methadone for you, but they are specially trained in treating intractable pain. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that ...

I need a good dr. in Indianapolis that is persistent. One that will help me control my pain, and help control my very high anxiety... Please Help!!!!!! ## Hi Mike, Personally, I think if you suffer from any sort of anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), usually your best bet is to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. Reason being, is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, as opposed to covering up the feelings and emotions with medication. In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input...

I'm only 25 years old, but have the spine of someone twice my age with degenerating discs and one herniated disc, due to years of excessive exercise and heavy lifting. Most of the time my pain is under control, but when it gets bad, even on 50mg of hydrocodone a day I can barely move. But of course no doctor wants to prescribe a 25 y/o anything stronger. I've been researching local doctors and pain management centers and one that came up was Dr. Daniel Cha of Valparaiso, IN. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with him and if so, is he any good? and does he not treat you like a total junkie (like many pain management doctors do)? ## yes, ha i WAS his patient. he has no bedside manner, he cut his whole practice down on meds, mg wise. if you got insurance and want to ge...

DUE TO ILLNESS AND HOSPITALIZATION my Dr has taken a leave of absence from practice cancelled all appointments and refused any refills. I am only on hydrocodone 10mg 5x daily. This left me with nothing no refill to find a new dr or anything someone please help!!!! ## If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of pain, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Finding a new general practice doctor to prescribe this just isn't very likely, at all, now. I need to find a doctor that will prescribe Methadone for pain use. They wont even let me go to clinic because i was on it for pain for many years ## I live in south bend Indiana and was going to a methadone clinic for 8 yrs, I then found a dr. who wrote me 10-10mg pills a day which is 100mg a day. That was what I was on at the clinic. Then I started getting dirty drug panels and after the 4th one he stopped writing for me so I went back to the clinic and they toke me back on with no problems. I have never heard of the methadone clinic turn anyone down due to getting it for pain from a doctor originally. Any names of doctors who will prescribe vicodin for degenerative disks in IN? ## Hello, Alex! How are you? There is no database of doctors that will prescribe any given medication. If you require such a medication on a long-term basis for chronic pain, you will most likely need to see a pain management specialist. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then it would most likely be easiest to have them refer to you someone. Learn more Vicodin details here. ## I'm not sure where you are, but if you were in the UK you would definitely need a prescription. If you want to be treated or even just een quickly your best bet is to consult a private doctor. Sameday Doctor clinics will even provide a walk in service. ## You can find them at: samedaydoctor.co.uk

How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Unfortunately, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Additionally, due to the new directives set forth by the DEA last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. I live in Portland Indiana. I just can't get a break with these doctors here. My old doctor was in Michigan but I could no longer make the trip up. Doctors here give things my doctor has tried for years only to have them fail for my pain. Norco was only thing that actually worked. I have been pain free till I moved to Indiana. Now I can't get pain management to fill norco, but they offer morphine which I refused, so they refused to see me. Can anyone help here? It's bad enough I have hard time getting out of bed. I just want to live life and function. ## I hope a doctor from Portland see's this. I'm sick of the bureaucrat. To get relief from pain. somewhere close to columbus indiana husband has been taking for 8 years and family doc wont presribe cuz of new dea rules ## There are no new DEA rules governing Methadone. If he was taking it for addiction/maintenance treatment, then regular doctors have never been able to prescribe it for that. That can only be done in a clinical setting by those specially trained in its use for such. And for pain, the new regulations concern all narcotics, not just Methadone. There have been severe restrictions placed on general practitioners and surgeons regarding what they can and cannot prescribe, so if someone needs such a medication for the long-term treatment of chronic pain, they will have to see a pain management sp...
