The immune system is a system of biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against disease. To function properly, an immune system must detect a wide variety of agents, from viruses to parasitic worms, and distinguish them from the organism's own healthy tissue. Pathogens can rapidly evolve and adapt, and thereby avoid detection and neutralization by the immune system, however, multiple defense mechanisms have also evolved to recognize and neutralize pathogens. Even...

Will Lisinopril compromise my immune system? ## No, Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor that's commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Since it is used for cardiac patients, it would be dangerous to give them a medication that would compromise their immune system. On the contrary, our doctors are usually trying to do all they can to bolster our immune systems, because it can be very dangerous if they are weak and we get sick easily. ...trust me, my arm is still sore from all my recent inoculations! :-) Learn more Lisinopril details here. I have been on Humira for over 6 years for my UC. Humira has made the quality of my life amazing and I am now in remission. In the last year or so I am catching every cold or flu I come across. Now the quality of my life is on the down fall. Anyone else that has been on Humira for a long time experiencing the same thing? ## The FDA does warn that people treated with Humira may catch various infections more easily than usual. Ref: Humira Information, and warnings. Our bodies also change with time, so it is always possible to start experiencing side effects that you haven't experienced before. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including administration site reaction, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, and rash. Have you consulted your doctor to make them aware of this issue? ...

About 5 years ago I was supplementing with lecithin at a pretty high dose. 4-6 tablespoons a day. After 2 months of continuing to take this one night I came down with a fever and extreme joint inflammation. It has turned into a autoimmune disease for me "chronic" with joint inflammation throughout my body. Doctors dont know what it is and just prescribe me antiinflaamatorys. Did I take to much lecithin? Lecithin has high omega 6 which can lead to autoimmune? I didnt know this when I was taking it. I have heard of studies using 100 grams perday for months without problems. I was taking in around 45-50 grams I think. My immune system is not right now. It attacks my joint on a regular basis. , and flare ups are hell. ## What does anyone think of this? ## Were you diagnosed with Aut...

Immune Globulin IM, IMIG, IGIM Drug Index

An antibody (Ab), also known as an immunoglobulin (Ig),[1] is a large, Y-shaped protein used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects such as pathogenic bacteria and viruses. The antibody recognizes a unique molecule of the pathogen, called an antigen.[2][3] Each tip of the "Y" of an antibody contains a paratope (analogous to a lock) that is specific for one particular epitope (analogous to a key) on an antigen, allowing t...

I took Methadone 120 mg 2 years ago. Now I'm down to 28 mg. You have to be strong and willing to come clean. It hurts, but you`ll get used to it. Every week I take at least 2 mg off, sometimes more. When it gets too painful I help myself with, vitamins A, D and C, magnesium, liver vitamins and some Benzodiazepines, but not long, just a week. Then my body gets used to it and I keep taking the dose. When I feel okay again, I take less again, until it is gone. The finish is harder and you need all the help you can get, vitamins, immune system protection, magnesium, lots of fluids and sometimes a salt solution in veins, for the night. When your dose is less than 5 mg that's the end. Good luck and don't lose faith. ## Very good job my friend. I too was at 130mg for three yrs. I w...

My lhasa apso has just been diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. Thie is where is red blood cells are being destroyed by his own body. He has had a transfusion of Oxyglobin which is an artificial blood product to shut down his immune system then is was restarted with steroids. This all happened as of yesterday, he is now on 8 Prednicare a day for a week , reducing to half the dose for the subsequent 3 weeks. We can see an improvement already in his blood count, appetite and condition. I have the utmost faith in my vet regarding this drug. He clearly told us that Vinney's appetite would improve, he would drink and urinate more and that these were the short term side affects. He is only looking at Vinney being on Prednicare for 4 weeks, he said that 6 months or more would affec...

My immune system has been severely challenged for many years. I believe demodex, as well as harvest mites has completely taken over my body, as I have small, round, white spots that now will not go away. The white spots have been on my person for years. When I go to speak to doctors, they politely inform me, "It's in your head"! Well, the small, round, numerous spots all over my body, mostly on arms and legs, are there, and will not even sun tan when I'm out of doors. I have found a way to keep the demodex, up until recently, and now, I've gone from a full head of hair, to being able to see my scalp on, the crown of my head. I am 66 years old, having 18 things wrong with me, physically, mentally and emotionally. I am, however a researcher and know what I have found. ...

Been on Enbrel about 3 months I have an over active immune system which causes multiple issues like psoriatic arthritis and all that goes with that along with deformed joints, psoriatic skin eruptions, IBS etc. As my immune system was lowered much of the pain and stiffness, skin eruptions and IBS slowly disappeared. I was getting excited about feeling better when out of the blue I started feeling a tingling and itching in my back, then the pain came as I realized I was having a shingles attack! I immediately went to my PC and he put me on an antiviral drug. I’m about three weeks into my shingles attack now. The antiviral drug seems to have stopped the progression of the shingles and so far it has not erupted in to open sores. The pain and itching remains but I’m thankful tha...

How many days does trixazole take to boost your immune system in order for your cd4 count to be up? ## Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in my investigation, trixazole does not appear to be the correct spelling of the alleged medication... Did you mean to say Triazole or Tinidazole by chance? Triazole is an antibiotic containing a combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim; used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Tinidazole is also an antibiotic/anti-parasitic that treats a variety of bacterial/parasitic infections... But just so you're aware, antibiotics of this nature do not boost the immune system. They simply kill off the bad (and good) bacteria. If you're trying to boost your immune system, my personal opinion is that you can't go wrong with a stead...
