Omg. This week I would of done anything for pills. Lost my job, boyfriend cheated, kid with suicide attempt, found out I have cancer. I'm on two 8mg a day and I took 3 for a few days for the psychological feeling of relief. Life couldn't get any worse. I will be out Tuesday and I'm not due till Thursday. What do I do? ## I ended up calling my doctor and letting him know everything and he was more thankful I didn't use again. That was more important than me taking two extra doses. ## Hello, Jess! How are you doing? I am very sorry about your cancer diagnosis. And I am very glad that your doctor understood and didn't penalize you for taking those extra doses. What is your cancer prognosis? This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effec...

I have taken vicodin for many years; now prescribed Methadone. Should I expect withdrawals from vicodin? ## Hello, Jojo0919! How are you? No, most likely not. Methadone is actually commonly used to treat drug addiction, because it helps prevent the withdrawals from other opiates. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What dosage has been prescribed?

I take 5 of the15 mg Oxycodone per day. Last UA was negative, but I absolutely did take my meds. I drive 30 miles to Dr. and drink lots of water to make sure I can provide required sample. I take Synthroid for Thyroid. I never seem to feel effects of Narcotics when given mess like Dilaudid, Morphine, or Fentyanyl. I have been given these meds in the ER 5 times since 11/15 for dislocating my hip due to botched hip replacement. I am a Christian and do not lie or betray Dr.'s trust. What is wrong, and how can I prevent a false judgement against me because I would not waste anybody's time if I was not telling truth, I am scared that it might happen again and lose my PM status. ## Sorry for the typo's. I would appreciate any suggestions. ## It is most likely due to your water int...

concerned about a family member with the amount of acetaminiphen in these pain pills. How much is too much and how long before it can do damage to your liver? ## The 325 shows that each tablet contains 325mgs of the Acetaminophen and 10mgs of the opiate Hydrocodone. That is the same amount of Acetaminophen that is in regular Tylenol, which can be purchased over the counter. As to how much is too much, they need to stay at or under 3,000mgs of it a day. However, there is no definitive timeline I can quote you regarding how long, before it will do damage to their liver, if ever. It can vary from person to person and will depend on other factors, such as how much they are taking daily, whether not they drink alcohol, if they are on any other medications or etc. The FDA classifies this medi...

I am prescribed gabapentin 300mg capsule and 400mg capsule. I'm supposed to take two 300mg twice a day for 7 days. Then one 400mg twice a day for however long. Today I've taken three 300mg and one 400mg and its not helping. Am I taking to much? Will this hurt me or possibly overdose me? please help. ## Nope. One distance advantage of Gabapentin is you can take very high doses, some people take thousands of mgs in a day, and you almost never reach an OD effect. However, if you are thinking this is a pain pill or something that should give you some results or effects right away soon after you take it, you are misinformed. This is actually a drug that was approved for us to prevent epilepsy seizures and was shown to help with some types of nerve pain, so it is not a pain killer and...

Please give me information about the harmful effects of this drug if u take it without having a prescription. ## Hello, Terri! How are you? The effects of any given medication do not change, whether someone does, or does not have a prescription, the only thing that changes is the legality of it. Under current U.S. FDA drug laws, it is illegal to have it, or take it, if it has not been prescribed for you. It is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain, and some mood disorders. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed percosets so why does my prescription say roxicets ## That's a good question. I'm not sure why they prescribed you two different brands, but to help shed some light, both brands contain the same combination of Acetaminophen + Oxycodone. So there is nothing to worry about as far as getting the medication you were prescribed. I can only assume that the pharmacy probably only had Roxicet ready and figured it was the same thing, so they just gave you that brand instead. I would suggest taking the prescription back to the pharmacy if it really bugs you though. It would probably have me worried too, had I not known they were one in the same. ## why does my prescription say ratio-oxycodan and not oxycodone.. hcl/asa 5/325

I was recently prescribed morphine sulfate 15mg er, for fibromyalgia. I've only ever taken Percocet, vicoden, or hydrocodone. I'm nervous as to how I will feel. ## Hello, Vik! How are you? This dose of Morphine is actually comparable to a 10/325mg Percocet, so it will probably affect you very similarly to that. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'd just suggest that you make sure you aren't driving, for the first few days, until your sure how its going to affect you. Morphine also has the propensity to make people very sleepy, so you may find yourself needing to nap. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello, I saw your post, I was...

Any advice on this situation; the doctor that prescribed my suboxone and the other doctor is a family friend that I went to because I told him I was having a lot of trouble sleeping at night so he prescribed me temazepam? Now I am worried this might be considered dr. Shopping ! ## Hello, Frank! How are you? Doctor shopping is generally considered to be someone's seeing multiple doctors to get multiple prescriptions for the same drugs, say for instance if you were seeing 2 different doctors to get a prescription for the Temazepam from each. It's not generally considered doctor shopping if you see several different doctors for different issues and are prescribed different things. Seeing different doctors for different things is actually what the DEA has been pushing to have people...

Perforated duodenal ulcer! Taken Bromazepam 3mg and Cilift 20mg for a few years! Should I see a Dr to change the dosage? ## Yes, only someone that knows your medical history can help you decide if you need a dosage adjustment or medication change. Bromezepam is a Bezodiazepine derivative that is used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and irritability. Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, it is an antidepressant. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and weight gain. I was told its ok to take older antibiotics Bc the worst is that they'd lose their ability to work. Please tell me this is true!!! ## Does amoxicillin 500 MG capsues loose strength over couple years. and do they really mean anything if I have a heart mumur before having a tooth extraction? ## Yes, it is correct, they do start to lose effectiveness over time, thus they don't work as well and you need to see a doctor to get a new prescription, as soon as possible. Casey, I have never known them to have to be used for someone with heart murmur, before dental extractions. My own doctor has never worried about it. It's genera...

I took one that is very old. Will I get sick ## Hello, Scoby! How are you? How old was it? Medications can lose effectiveness over time and this one also carries the risk of causing cardiac toxicity. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Once the Mediicine is described for blood pressure , Is it necessary to continue for life time if the pressure is all right and healthy life style is maintain and with regular check up . ## Hello, Mukul! How are you? What are you blood pressure readings? Some people do manage to come off of the medication, but it must be done very carefully to prevent rebounds and should only be done, once it is certain that your diet and exercise are really helping. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Whatever you do don't stop taking your blood pressure meds unless your doctor orders it. High bp is the silent killer. You never want to discontinue it without doctors orders, especially if you are dieting, exercising and taking diet pills.
