what is the difference beween morphine 15mg and oxycodone 10-325mg ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? For pain relieving efficacy, these doses are roughly equivalent. However, Morphine and Oxycodone are two different narcotics. While both have been proven effective, one sometimes works better for some people than another. Being coupled with the Acetaminophen can also make the Oxycodone work better for some people, so they can take a lower dose of it and still achieve adequate pain relief. The FDA classifies both of these medication as being narcotic analgesics. So they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been on Oxycodone 10/325 4xdaily for a cou...

Many questions here seem to be about comparing one opioid to another. Your questions need to be about either relief of not and that taking say Oxycodone 15mg is effectively treating pain. Pain from one to another is subjective at best. Morphine is engineered for lasting longer than Oxycodone IR, immediate release. Therefore at first Oxycodone works well but doesn't last, requiring another dose then morphine or Oxycontin may work better lasting through a period of time. Oxycodone really is a breakthrough pain medication. Treatment using Oxycodone for longterm pain treatment is tricky and may take months or years to get right. It took 3 years and 3 different pain management plans to find something that works fairly well. The other issue is insurance, wheres Oxycontin is a name brand tier

I've been taking percocet 7.5/350 mg. for 3 yrs. I was recently prescribed morphine 15mg-cr and I am not getting much pain relief from the morphine. I thought and was told morphine is stronger than percocet but I got more relief from the percocet than I do from the morphine. I of course plan on telling my dr. asap but was just woundering in the meantime. ## Actually, Oxycodone is one and half times stronger than Morphine, plus the Percocet also contained Acetaminophen, which helps the Oxycodone to work better. And not every medication works for everyone that tries it, so it could just be that the Morphine isn't effective for you and you may need to switch back to Oxycodone, or Percocet. Are there any other comments or questions? ## Morphine ER is a extended release where as Perc...

I take Opana 20mg three times a day for chronic pain, along with Roxicodone 15mg 4X's a day. I was wondering if anyone out there had noticed that the Opana's don't do anything as much as the Roxis/Oxycodone do? I also just use them as perscribed and am only in my 20's and have had over 35 surgeries. I go see my pain management physician in a couple of days and want to know if anyone out there has tried something similar to what I'm not and what they might have been switched to to get better relief of pain. Thank you for any advice. ## Everyone is different, so it could be that the Oxycodone works better for you, than the Opana. Given how many surgeries you've had, you may also have a very high tolerance to pain medications. The FDA warns that these medications ca...
