I am having an epidural tomorrow at 1:45 pm. Is it okay to take IC Hydrocondon 5- 525 and Extra Strength Tylenol 12 hours before the injection? ## Hello, Samantha! How are you? You shouldn't take anything, without your doctor's approval. Some medications can interfere with the procedure, or with anesthetic that may be used for the procedure. And you shouldn't ever combine Tylenol with the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen since they both contain Acetaminophen and an overdose of it can be very dangerous. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

what is the difference between hydrocodon 5-325 and hydocodone 5-500? also should I take both or just 1 every 4 hrs as prescribed. ## The difference between the two is that the the first one you mentioned contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen and the second contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone, with 500mgs of Acetaminophen. The name brand for this would be Vicodin. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic, which can be addictive. and coupled with the Acetaminophen, which can be toxic if you take too much in a day, you should only take the amount you have been prescribed. This medication may also cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. I take oxycodone HCL 10 mg for severe I.C. pain. It is a small round pink pill. Is there any ASA or Acetaminophen in this pill? I am asking because I also have hydrocodon-Aceta 10-325mg and I think the Hydrcodon is causing some stomach discomfort. The oxycodone is for break threw at night and seems to not upset my stomach. ## What are the markings on the tablet in question? I'm sorry, but this additional information is needed, in order for it to be identified for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
