Expiration date is 11/2013. Is it safe to use? ## Hi Carol! Most medications are safe to use even after the expiration date. Sometimes for years. Some may lose their potency after awhile. ## @Carol, If you've been keeping it under what's considered to be "proper storage conditions" (i.e. - not leaving it under intense heat sources for extended periods of time, and storing it in a cool dark place), studies show that many medications can last for even up to 10 or 15 years beyond the expiration date while maintaining potency. I haven't seen the specific list of medications involved in these particular studies, but given the details above, it sounds like your ibuprofen should still be near it's prime. I hope this helps! ## Hi I would like to know my husband was on pr...

I had a doctor tell me that I could take 800 mgs. of Ibuprophen every 4 hours -has anyone heard of this? I thought 1200 mg. was the max you could take per day. ## Hello, Maemae! How are you? It should actually be every 6 hours, for a maximum of 4 times, no more than 3,200mgs daily, but please double check with your doctor. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

As an anti-inflammatory, what is most effective: 75mg diclofenac NA or 200mg ibuprophen? ## The Diclofenac is much stronger, that is why it is only available by prescription and you can purchase the 200mgs of Ibuprofen over the counter. This, however, also means that side effects, such as: nausea, headache, stomach irritation and ulcers can occur more rapidly and be more serious. Is there anything else I can help you with?

My Husband is being treated for an abscess but he now has a lot of pain and swelling is it possible to take 400g ibuprofen and 100mg of Mesulid together to manage the pain. ## Essentially, this would be doubling up, since these medications are basically in the same class. Which one has your doctor instructed you to take? Was he also prescribed an antibiotic? The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.

This pill is not ibuprophen 200mg. I looked it up because i had a similar looking pill, but this was white and on one side had the numbers 420 circled. There is a similar pill that is used in the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, and chrones disease plus theres more uses for it. It is also white but has the number 54 on the top and 420 on the bottom of it all on one side if the pill the other side is just plain white, and nothing is circled on it ,it is called mercaptopurine 50mg , you do not want to take this pill thinking its ibuprophen you might experience some strange side effects such as dizziness, nausiousness, and sometimes head aches that can turn into migraines. ## Hey Carma king, I'm a little puzzled by your description where you mentioned that the white round pill with ...

will the 800mg ibuprophen help boost 10/325 hydrocodone. That was prescribed to me years ago.Just wondering if that still goes?. ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? Since Acetaminophen is also in the tablet with the Hydrocodone to potentiate it, you shouldn't add the Ibuprofen, unless your doctor says that it's safe for you to do so. Is there anything else I can help with?

Non-steriod, anti-inflammatory tablets (such as Ibuprophen) make me sick. My Rheumatologist gave me a sample tube of Valteran Gel 1% for bursitis in my hip. I was amazed at how well it worked. Unfortunately I've used all the sample. I asked for a prescription which she faxed to my pharmacy. The pharmacy did not have it and said they don't know when they'll get more. I live in a small town and was told none of the pharmacies have had any for a couple of months. I would like to know how I can find a pharmacy that does have this drug so I can have a prescription for Valteran Gel 1% sent to that pharmacy. I'm on Medicare and it does not pay for Valteran, but I need it so badly I'm willing to pay for it myself. If you know a pharmacy that has this drug or know how I can f...

Ok, This tylenol-cod #4 is not very strong...I take Ibuprophen 800 mg for fibromyalgia/arthritis..Waiting for the Docs to figure that one out?? Anyway, the Doc said only one every 6 hrs....HAH...was like taking baby aspirin for a broken leg....Should I take two just to see if It could work doubled or just get a stronger Med.?? ## Interestingly enough, the dosing instructions for Tylenol-Codeine #4 state the following: "Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more of this medication than is recommended. An overdose of acetaminophen can damage your liver or cause death. Tell your doctor if the medicine seems to stop working as well in relieving your pain." Lately there have been a lot of concerns about liver toxicity upon taking too much acetaminophen. Wife diagnosed with Parkinsons disease on Jan 16, 2006. She takes Sinmet, Namenda, Citalopram HBR (your manufacture), Exelon, Vitamin D, Vitamin B, and Ibuprophen. About 20+ pills a day. She has a terrible time taking your pills (1 and 1/2 20 mg tablets at breakfast). For some reason the Citalopram sticks to her tongue and she simply doesn't seem to be able to get them down. The other pills are not very difficult. I've tried apple sauce, yogurt, honey, juice, water, grinding them up into a powder (pills do not pulverize and many granules remain in the glass). She eats a normal amount of food; slowly but normal quantity. How can I help her swallow the Citalopram pills from you? I am 46 and hv been diagnosed with severe lumbar spinal stenosis, protruding disc, etc. I have taken aspirin, tylenol, t3, ibuprophen, tramodol, anti - depressants, muscle relaxers, and vicodin most recent along with the Fentanyl patch 25mg. This is the first time in my life I've had a significant relief of pain. The problem is that the pain is coming back after being on these 2 meds for about 3months. I am an American living in Belgium and suffering from Fibromyalgia. I have both pain and sleeplessness. In the states I used a more generic Family Dollar Ibuprophen PM from time to time and it worked great. I cannot find anything like that here in Belgium as we don't really have drugstores as in the US where one can just scan all that is available. I have to go through a pharmacist here and there is a lot of difficulty in explaining what I am looking for. I am hoping someone can tell me if there is a way to order this kind of pill and it be delivered to Belgium I looked on AMazon and they are not allowed to be shipped here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ## Tylenol PM contains Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine, so you might just want to ask specifically for a gene...

Can I take doxycycline 100mg for a toothache? I'm also taking Lisinopril 20 mg and Bupropion 75mg. ## John Docycline is not a pain reliever it wouldn't have any pain relieving properties.Ibuprophen is excellent for tooth pain it's an OTC med. ## Can I take the antibiotic for a bad tooth that is abscessed with the other two drugs? ## @John, If there's really a bacterial infection present, then killing the infection with an antibiotic makes sense and will probably help alleviate pain that the infection was causing. As to the efficacy of Doxycycline being used for this purpose, I do think there may be better options on the market. However I haven't come across any details suggesting not to take that particular drug combination of Lisinopril, Bupropion and Doxycycline. A...
