AM 28 YRS OLD, AM SUFFERING WITH IBS Problem since 3 years, am working in abroad, my annual vacation time I am consulting Indian Kerala Gastro-doctor. He will advise some medicine like Ofloxacin&ornidazole, esomeprazole and other medicine for two month. But mostly happening the mucus and stool problem after stop the antibiotic... Now few days on my annual vacation doctor prescribed these medicines, but the previous consulted time he was advised antibiotic as two times/daily. Now pharmacist mentioned in medicine cover as one dosage/daily. I began taking bentyl 2 weeks ago for ibs. After 2 days I noticed that I haven't had any appetite and I still don't. My appetite was normal until beginning this medication. My pharmacist suggested I stop taking the medication, wait a couple of days to see how my appetite was and then call my doctor with my findings. I just got around to calling him yesterday. I did not tell him I had completely stopped because I thought he would just switch medicines. He told me to cut down to two pills a day and see how that does. How do others deal with a lack of appetite from medication? After Christmas I will let my doctor know I am not taking the medicine and my appetite still hasn't returned. my wife is using stalopam plus since last 10 months,for not responding to medicines given for IBS treatment for 5 years.Dr advised she might be having depression so to continue with this medicine.recently dr.has added revotril to plain stalopam.But result remains unchanged as before 5 years.please advise any treatment to see my wife healthy....

Doctor prescribed trepeline for treatment of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) about 5 years ago as its supposed to slow down my stomach digestion process. I am suffering from chronic constipation for the last 30 years coupled with gas problem. 1. On Jan.2010 I had loose motion for more than 20 times symptom: cramps in the stomach, mild paid, loose motion, no fever, no vomiting I took our family doctors medicines and it was controlled 2. In the month of March again same thing was repeated and similarly controlelled. I started loosing weight from 62kgs i came to 55 kgs Family doctor informed me that I was suffering from IBS 3.
