suboxone, subutex and opiates

This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos... ...

suboxone weaning

So yesterday was day 3 of taking 3 quarters from 8 mg. the doctor is weaning me and my fiancé from 8 mg to 3 quarters. The first couple days I didn't notice much of a difference. Yesterday I woke up after tossing and turning all night, I felt extremely depressed and to top it off I started my menstrual cycle and had very painful cramps. I usually am very busy and on the go. I cried I didn't feel like doing much and I wasn't hungry all day. I have some female problems plus bi polar ptsd and high anxiety disorder. I ended up taking the full 8 mg and my xanax and i slept finally a full nights sleep. I woke up today not depressed in fact I have alot to do and I took my 4 MG when I got up because of the severe cramps. My fiancé told me to take the full 8 mg for 2 days t... ...

suboxone....HELP!!!
1 Reply RSS
8 days ago I quit suboxone not taking any at all for 7 days and on the 7th day I had such high anxiety I folded and ended up taking 2mg of suboxone. I know STUPID! Anyway all of the bad symptoms were pretty much gone, just bad anxiety. Does this mean I am gonna start my withdrawl all over??? I was only taking 2mg a day for 6 months! ## Hello, HorseLover! How are you? You may experience some more withdrawal symptoms, but likely not as bad, since you only took one dose. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to prescribe something you can take for the anxiety, while stopping it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

Help with suboxone!
1 Reply RSS
I regularly take 10-12 mg of suboxone daily well this moth I ran out 3 days early so I took 80mg of opiates each day I took my last does of opiates at noon it's now 7pm is it safe to take suboxone again? I don't want to go in withdrawals but I have always been told suboxone remains in your system for 3-5 days. If so, is there enough suboxone in my system so I won't go into withdrawals? ## Hello, David! How are you? It's difficult to gauge, because how long it stays can vary from person to person. It would really be best to wait until you're in full withdrawal, before starting it, again, unless your doctor directs otherwise. 80mgs of opiates is a high amount, so there could be a pretty high risk of precipitated withdrawals, if you take it too soon. The FDA classifies ... ...

suboxone don't do it!!
7 Replies RSS
I've been on suboxone for 2 years now. I was addicted to pain pills. I've had withdraws from the pills and withdrawals from the suboxone, and the suboxone is 10 times worse. I don't know who discovered this drug but they should be shot. If I would've known suboxone was this bad I would've tried to quit cold turkey. They even have me on a higher dose than i took with the pills. But now I'm stuck!!! At least my Dr that I have to pay every month is happy. My advise is whatever you do don't go with suboxone. There's bound to be something better out there. ## Hello, Whisper! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you've had. However, Suboxone does work well for many people, because though it takes awhile and must be very slowly tapered, it has ... ...

Suboxone wd question
Post a Reply
Ok so I've been using Suboxone for a little over a year and not at high levels, at my peak, an 8mg tablet would last me more than a week. So four days ago I took my last dose after tapering to .25 or less per day. I still have a full tablet just in case but have no desire to continue. I have had a rough time sleeping, mild RLS for the past 2 nights, otherwise I feel pretty good. My energy level is lower and I get hot flashes and chills from time to time, nothing unbearable. So here's my question, it's now been 3 whole days since I've had my last dose. I recently moved to a new state and am looking for work, well I'm feeling very fatigued today and have an interview and want to be sharp and alert for it. I'm contemplating taking another .125-.25 dose just to get thru ...

How long to wait to take suboxone

I have a high tolerance i took a 15mg white morphine how long should i wait to take suboxone?? ## To properly use Suboxone for addiction issues, it shouldn't be taken until you are in full withdrawal from the other substances you were taking. Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the Naloxone is used to prevent the abuse of other opiates, while someone is under treatment, however, it can throw you into withdrawals if taken too soon. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Does anyone have a good taper method with suboxone, my grandpa has about 10 4mg and 4 2mg films, need these to last or until he weans himself of suboxone for H withdrawal. He was using about 2gs a day..he would buy in bulk to save money but just made addiction worse.... ...

morphine to suboxone transition
4 Replies RSS
I've been taking 40gs of long acting and 240 of short acting daily for several years. The last month before converting to suboxone I tapered down. 12 hours after my last dose of long acting morphine it took 8mg of suboxone and started a3x a day 8ng of suboxone. I feel great. No side effects except 1st day had a bad headache. ## Wow! Those were very high dosages, so I'm glad that the transition went so smoothly for you. Some people have problems getting the dosage of the Suboxone just right. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any comments or questions? ## There's a company called point of return that... ...

You need to be in full withdrawal from all other opiates, before taking Suboxone, otherwise, it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. how much suboxone to reach ceiling effect
3 Replies RSS
Want to know how many 8mg suboxone strips it takes to reach the 'ceiling effect' which docs say is equivalent to 30mg of methadone? ## Sub dr. told me 32mg or 4 of the 8/2 strips. In my opinion thats way too much sub for anyone to be on anyways. ## I never felt suboxone, whether I took 1 or 4, subutex ceiling affect for me was 4 or 32 mg... ## Hey christian777, Your not suppose to feel suboxone. It doesn't make you high. You might feel something very slightly at first but that goes away quickly and you just feel normal. Ceiling effect just means that after so many mgs the drug just can,t do anymore for you. Thats why when someone needs more than lets say 30mgs of methadone to "feel right " suboxone may not be the best choice for them. Methadone has no ceiling effect ... ...

If she is also taking other pain killers, it could be very dangerous for her. To learn more about Suboxone click on the link below... Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## The reason it did not make her feel better is because you have to be in slight to moderate withdrawal for Suboxone to work properly. Taking it too soon can actually throw you into worse withdrawal symptoms. ## Please, I need info! My son's girlfriend is pregnant and is on suboxin since Mar. I ran out of my oxycodone pills and I took some suboxone for about a week and a half so that I would not get withdrawl symptoms. No Euphoria, no pain release, no high, nothing. Could you tell my why this is happening? I know I have built up a toloarance because I am able to take 5-6 pills at one time and I still feel nothing. U took 4 7.5s perks around midnight will I go into withdraws if i take a 54 411 around 10am ## Dear highboi1989, u must wait until u r in withdrawals b 4 u can take the sub. If not, u could get sick and feel like crap. U should not take both together, either. It could b dangerous. So, remember, wait until u r withdrawing b 4 u take the subs. GOOD LUCK! ## There is nothing in Subutex to counteract other opiates, so someone does not have to be in full withdrawal to take it. Subutex contains only the opiate Buprenorphine. It does not contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does which so why you must be in full withdrawals, before you can take it. This is a stimulant that carries the risk of being habit forming and it is well known to case side effects, such as insomnia, headache, irritability and weight loss.
