I am getting off Savella , due to sever leg & hand cramping, nausea, fast irregular heartbeat, and trouble sleeping. Savella did help me with the Fybromyalgia pain for the first 2 months and it was great not to feel pain, but now as other medications " The Thrill is Gone". I am still having the leg cramping ; how long will that go on ??? ## Since you were on it for a few months, it may take about a month for your body to adjust to no longer having it and for the effects to taper off, so things return to normal. Will you be trying something different, now? ## Well, I don't know what my Doctor is going to offer now. I have tried most of all the new medications but it seems that I get all the side effects to them . When the pain level gets to a 10 then I go to the ER & ...

I have had fibro for over 20 years. I had been taking Lyrica for over 6 years and my pain was starting to increase so my Dr. weaned me off of Lyrica and started Savella at 25mg 2x a day. I had horrible side effects including nausea, intense sweating, suicidal thoughts, sleeplessness. Despite that I stuck it out for a month and even tried the higher dose of 50mg 2x a day to see if I would get any benefits. But the side effects got worse and were unbearable and my pain levels were through the roof. I had horrendous flare ups along with those side effects. I couldn't handle the medication any longer and have now weaned myself off. I'm now considering going back on Lyrica. I would not recommend this drug. I've had issues with other anti depressants in the past so this may not be...

Having been experimented with and suffered daily side effects of many other drugs to deal with fibromyalgia and related pain disorders; I am reluctant after reading the others reports of increased insomnia, severe sweats, nausea to the point of vomiting, not to mention increased blood pressure and heart attack risks. I have got to be my own best advocate and exercise caution. This is a relatively new drug on the market and notice that it is being recalled in Europe. Would like to hear others thoughts on this subject. ## Laurie. I too am a Fibro/CFS patient of 22 yrs, and have tried practically 'everything' under the sun. I was given samples of Savella, in a packet from my doctor. I brought it home, and proceeded to read EVERYTHING I could find on this med. I am very sensitive to...

daughter in law was taking savella with nexium, amrix er, ambien cr, hydrocodone apap, lorazepam, apri 28 day and committed suicide. Could these led to her death? ## I am very sorry for your loss. Have you tried discussing your concerns with her doctor? Do you know what type of conditions she was being treated for? ## I have recently started savella for fibromyalgia. Everything I have read states that it can cause suicidal thoughts in the beginning.......but it also states that if there is a history of bipolar or suicidal thoughts, one should consult their doctor because dosage may need to be adjusted. Sorry for your loss and I hope that time eases your pain. ## dfa

MY doctor told me I need for my stomach. So what is this and the side effect? ## I took 1 metoclopram 10mg and during the night i got savear charlie horses in both legs. They were in knots and i coudn't get them out by rubbing them and i tried to stand up and i couldn't stand up it hurt so bad. I kept rubbing them hard and finally could walk them out. It really frightened me. Is this a side effect? ## Metoclopramide is is used to help with digestive motility. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, seizures, and rapid weight gain. And yes, Mavis, it has been known to cause muscle spasms, but you should have this checked out by a medical professional, because sometimes leg cramps are caused by a potassium deficiency. How are you doing, now?...

Savella has devinatley made the pain from Fibromyalgia decrease. but I am very, very constipated. Has this happened to anyone else??? ## Great to hear that this is working so well for you. Constipation is a known side effect of this medication, along with nausea, headache and insomnia. Have you tried any remedies? When I have this problem with medications, I usually find that fiber supplements are quite helpful. ## YES! Constipation was horrible. It actually caused me to stop taking Savella. But now intense pain is back. A real Catch-22. Have you found a solution to the problem? ## I too have the problem with constipation, but I have found if I drink plenty of water and fruits and vegts I am able to get along just fine. ## I too also took sAvella for two and a half months. My pain went ...

I was leary to try Savella since I had such a bad experience both while taking Cymlata and terrible withdrawal from it. The side effects from the Savella were terrible but I continued it for 8 weeks until I started having heart palpitations and chest pain. I have been off of it now for almost 2 weeks and I am experiencing more muslce aches and pains than I had prior to the drug. I have read where some people suffered from severe withdrawal from the Savella. Has anyone else out there felt there muscle pain actually got worse if you stopped the drug. I actually tried it because I was told it would help my severe fatigue and fibro fog. Neither of those were improved but I am now actually suffering with at least twice as much pain as I have ever had from the fibro. I also still have the con...

the new medicine savella for fibermyalgia does it cause weight gain like a lot of other meds? ## My doctor just gave me a sample of Savella to try for fibromyalgia? Nuvigil (armodafinil) saved my life. I've had treatment resistant major depression for over 20 years. Tried so many anti-depressants - most don't help, or only work temporarily. Side effects of others are intolerable. Numerous rounds of ECT haven't fixed the problem. I even tried TMS, which is not covered by insurance - didn't work. A year ago my doctor prescribed Nuvigil and it's given me my life back. Not enough hours in the day to do all the things I actually enjoy. Also able to feel contentment and peace of mind. Unfortunately, I've had to continuously increase the amount to keep it working and now I'm at a very high dose and my doctor won't let me go any higher. I can't find anyone else in the medical field aware of what Nuvigil can do for my typ...

Why won't any of the insurances pay for my savella? Where can I find help? PDQ ## It is a fairly new medication, which really translates to two things when it comes to insurance companies, it's very expensive and it hasn't been use by a lot of people, yet. Learn more Savella details here. And unfortunately, the only assistance programs that I am aware of are for people that don't have any insurance. Have you tried looking into alternative medications?

I tried everything, I mean everything and in the pulmonologists office they gave me xopenex in nebulizer. It saved my life. Fla medicaid wont pay for it even after docs asked 3 times. ANY help for me? ## I am not sure what the qualifications for the programs are, some may not help if you have insurance, but it doesn't hurt to call them and check. I found two listed that may help with Xopenex: The Partnership for Prescription Assistance 888-477-2669 and RX Outreach 800-769-3880. Can you please post back and let me know if either one of these can help you? If not, I'll see what else I can find for you. ## Neither one can help me.

I took percocets for recreation use for just over a year. In November of this year I will have been on 24mg of Suboxone a day for 2 years. Yes I have been on the subs twice as long as my addiction lasted. Don't get me wrong subs saved my ass but I am ready to close this chapter in my life and move on. Kvk... Ritalin?! Garbage! I will be going to the Dr's and ask why I'm being rx'd phentermine?! A drug is a drug, is a drug! Ritalin would give me a happy, motivated, feeling. My palms used to sweat, I was engaged, now the magic is gone. I'm no longer convinced kvk is selling Ritalin! This I put up with 2-3 times now... My given right and body will stop being coerced by Dr's that believe they know best. Trust me, decline this kvk brand!!! Pissed off, and tried the "stimulant vacation!". Before someone wants to get mouthy, I saved an old script before kvk... Kvk white round tabs are not Ritalin!? ## Hello Vemonter, I'm unsure of the direction you wanted to go with this post. For 3 years i have been on methadone, currently on 25mg. I tried to come off myself and for the first time in my life i stupidly took a delibrite overdose 6 days ago of 700mg of methadone. I ended up in hospital and they saved me with naloxone. Very stupid i know. I am going into a detox clinic next week for a year and to start with they detox you on 2 weeks of subbys. i haven't took any methadone or any drugs since saturday. It is now thursday and im not really rattling yet. Am i better to now stay off the methadone till next week? My way of thinking is that maybe the naloxone has got rid of some opiates but i have been clean for 5 days so why put more methadone into my body when it takes longer to detox and in 5 to 6 days i will be going onto a subby detox any way. Please any advi...

My Dr. put me on Savella for chronic pain & it seemed to work great, only problem is that it caused my blood pressure go sky high. I've been on meds. for my blood pressure since. I've also tried Cymbalta (which didn't work at all). So my question is can I safely take Savella & control my blood pressure too. I have a strong family history of hypertention and heart disease. And yes, the elevated blood pressure, as well as heart palpitations, are well-know side effects of it. Hi... my husband has been addicted to pain pills off and on for the past 5 years, with things getting really out of hand the past year. Almost 2 weeks ago he went to detox and rehab.
