I just got switched from penicillin to clindamycin 300 mg 3 times a day. My face wasn't puffy and huge like it is now at first. I have started taking it on the 14th. Is this normal for the face to swell up like this and my gums before it kicks in & flu like chills and 100 degree fever? I called the ambulance twice and they said I should call my dentist as soon as possible and I am. I kinda want to wait and see if the antibiotics will kick in or just go back to the ER? HELP ME PLEASE. ## Hello, Rae! How are you doing? Has there been any change? How long have you been taking the Clindamycin? The general rule with antibiotics is that if they are working, you shouldn't see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours, and you should start to see improvement, after taking it...

should I continue this medicine if I have dirreha>>>>> 4th day on it ! ## Hello, Martha! How are you doing? Diarrhea can be a normal side effect of most antibiotics, including this one, so it's completely normal to experience that while taking it. Just check in with your doctor if it gets too severe and make sure that you don't become dehydrated. You may also experience nausea, dizziness and a non-allergic skin rash. 9 Year old was at dr today for stomach flu. Called in rx to pharmacy. When I arrived home now I see it says 4pills 1 time daily so that would be 2000 mg at once for 10 days.......is that safe ? ## Hello, Kathy! How is your son doing? Why was it prescribed for flu? Antibiotics are only effective at treating bacterial infections, as listed by the FDA, they will not treat the flu, which is caused by a virus. Unless he has developed some type of infection, then it isn't appropriate. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. As to the dosage, that's not too much in a day, though it may cause more side effects than lower dosages, but it is also usually split up and taken 2 to 3 times daily. Have you double c...

Could i give my one and a half dog (64pounds)KLX 141 Pill - cephalexin 500 mg - to treat his pneumonia and if so for how many days ## @Xexa, According to colostate.edu, Cephalexin tablets, capsules, or liquid are usually prescribed for dogs to take orally 2-3 times daily. However the exact dosage and duration of treatment is best determined by a licensed vet who can evaluate the dog in person. Upon doing so, the vet can also decide if Cephalexin is appropriate over other potential antibiotics/treatment options (that may be safer in so far as possible side effects). Cephalexin itself is a very powerful drug (even for humans), so I just think it's wise to play it safe and seek additional feedback from a vet before following through with treatment on your own accord. Hope this helps!

My wife had wisdom tooth extraction and she was given cefexime 200mg 2 times as day for a week. Now she started having books ask over the body. How can I assure that is a side effect or another disease problem ## Hello, Cb! How is your wife doing? No, that is not a listed side effect of this antibiotic. The U.S. FDA lists its typical ones as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is she on any other medications? Has she consulted her doctor? In many cases, antibiotics are actually used to help treat boils.

Very hard to treat, I may not get rid of this one. mrsa , etc. is here to stay. Especially if you have an auto immune disease, such as Lupus. Stay home! ## Hello, Lona! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. How are they trying to treat it, now? Have they tried high doses of IV antibiotics?

I've been prescribed the above for a recurrant boil on my inner thigh. The dose of flucloxacillin is 500mg x4daily for two months. It's day two, so far I've only managed 3tabs a day. So that means 1500mg daily rather than 2000mg daily. How do I space these out? Is it 6hourly or 4hourly? ## 4 times a day would be every 6 hours. The NIH lists the typical side effects of most antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. How are you doing? Has there been any improvement?

The directions on the bottle is take 1 tablet four times a day. ## Hello, Brook! How are you? Antibiotics sometimes can help with boils, but should only be taken if your doctor deems them appropriate. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Penicillin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
