THAT GIVES OUT METHADONE FOR PAIN. I BEEN GETTING 80 MILLAGRAMS IN MORNING AND 80 AT NIGHT TIME THAT WORKED FINE, NOW THIS NEW DOCTOR DOES NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT METHADONE. HE GIVES ME ONLY 80 MILLS ONE 1X A DAY. I END UP SPENDING $500.00 GETTING METHADONE ON THE STREET. THIS DOCTOR IS TREATING ME LIKE A DAMM DOG. I LIVE IN JERSEY ## I been on methadone for six years an lost my doctor I am in really bad pain an spend a lot of money getting them on the street.

However, if you're taking any type of controlled substance for chronic pain, then your doctor's hands are tied. Regular PCPs are no longer allowed to prescribe them and you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Any PCP that you see if going to have to refer you to one for such medications. I live in Jasper, Alabama and have been on methadone for 15 years. It's the only thing that's helped during my chemo or when my ruptured disc are bothering me. The doctor I had just up and left and left all his patients hunting a new doctor. Does anyone know a doctor in or around Jasper or Birmingham that I can see that writes Methadone? ## Really, your best bet is to see a new doctor and make sure they get your medical records, so they can speak for themselves.
