clotrimazole cream expired 11/2009
1 Reply RSS
Is it harmful to use expired clotrimazole cream for Serious Red Rash in Vagina with expiration date: November 2009 ? I would believe it is but my friend says NO....... ## Yes, you are correct and it shouldn't be used. Creams tend to degrade fairly fast and usually contain oils that can go rancid with time. Thus, trying to use one that's this old to treat a vaginal issue could just end up making the situation worse. It is best to use a new cream that is still fully potent and within its expiration date. D-03 Cream Capsule/ Gabapentin 300mg
1 Reply RSS
The cream colored capsule with D 03 on it is a 300mg gabapentin. It is mostly used for the treatment of nerve pain as well as a mood stabilizer. I also have found when you are trying to come off of opiates, the gabapentin helps with the withdrawal. It is not a solution, however, taking the gabapentin for a couple days vrs relapsing or getting on suboxone or methadone, is better on your body in the end. Since it is a mood stabilizer as well it helps with sleep, the anxiety, and pains that come with withdrawal. I have used this in my own personal experience and it was a life saver. I believe that if you work the program suboxone can work too, it just is expensive and not everyone has the cash to do it. I don't like to rely on any medicines but I take this over pain pills or barbiturat... ...

SMZ TMP double str 800 160 reactions
2 Replies RSS
After having 2 sinus infections within a month, I was pretty sure I had yet another one. I took Cipro for the first two and they seemed to go away. I was sure that I had one again, so I returned to the doctor. He prescribed that SMZ-TMP double str. 800-160. I read the side effects that came with my prescription and thought, wow there are ALOT of side affects to this medication! I haven't really had a bad reaction to a drug before except when the doctor was trying to get my thyroid dose correct. At that time, I thought I was going crazy! I had anxiety really bad. I called that doctor's office many times and they finally called me back. When I told them all of my symptoms they acted like it was no big deal, just switch to this dosage. They were unsympathetic and really didn't ... ...

please reply if your hair has fallen out and or you have had weight gain. if your hair has not fallen out please also reply. Thank you.......... ## Propranolol is a beta blocker and almost all of the medications in this class are known to cause weight gain and hair loss as side effects in some people that take them. Have you consulted your doctor? You may want to talk to them about trying something different in this class, such as Carvedilol, which is known to cause fewer side effects. ## Yes i've been taking propranolol for about 4 years at 10mg and almost 2 years ago i went all the way up to 160 for migraines. My hair started falling out by the handfulls after the birth of my twins. I thought it was a result of birth and then shortly I went on a 500 calorie diet and blamed my hair... ...

Has anyone been experiencing a problem with their Buproprion SR 100 by Mylan recently? My spouse got her new prescription from Walgreens a few weeks ago and has been struggling as if she had stopped taking it all together. Symptoms include feeling overwhelmed, hopelessness, anxiety ridden and just can't cope. Her cycle was also 7 days late. I also take the Buproprian but SR 100 get it from a different pharmacy. We are trying her out on this (different manufacturer) but are wondering if anyone else has/is experiencing similar symptoms. Note: we live in Portland, OR area. ## Are you sure it is the same and not from a different manufacturer? If it is, then it may be that she has just grown tolerant to this dosage and she made need a dosage adjustment from her doctor. How long has she b... ...

Personal decision to discontinue pain meds a year ago..to see if I could without. I did it, but having 24/7 pain is no longer tolerable and am going back to pain doctor to see if he will RX meds again. Am unable to take anything with aspirin, anti-inflammatory meds, or Fibro meds made for this condition of Fibro. Opioids are the ONLY meds I have ever been able to tolerate, & most doctors will not go this route. So my condition is about to become intolerable AGAIN !. I look & feel like a zombie trying to ambulate. I have reactions to all Fibro meds & to aspiring and antiinflammatoies. So am very limited in what , if any meds, I CAN tolerate. I was once prescribed something to my panic attic, it was very strong. Non narcotic, got off xanex, tryed bus bar 15 mg 2 times a day. Now I'm trying to fig out the other non narcotic anxiety/ pain ## Have you tried looking into any natural alternatives, such as Essential Oils or various herbs? Kava Kava seems to be a solid option for panic attacks/anxiety: "This is one of the most popular choices for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. It is a powerful herb from the South Seas. Used as an alternative to Valium, research studies have found it reduces anxiety equivalently. The advantage is that there are no addictive side effects with the Kava Kava. Medicare has denied my Dexilant 60mg
1 Reply RSS
Medicare just quit covering my Dexilant prescription and I am having acid reflux horrible again. My dr is trying to get them to approve it because nothing else I've tried ever helped noticably. What other GERD med is most similar to Dexilant? It has to be a generic form, or medicare won't cover it. ## Hello, Cherie! How are you? The reason they don't want to cover it is because it's not available as a generic, but there are several others that are, plus some are available over the counter. Two would be Lansoprazole and Omeprazole, so you may want to ask your doctor about trying them. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Oxycontin: taking only 20mg. once a day
1 Reply RSS
My doctor prescribed 20mg of oxycontin for my fibromyalgia. I am to take it twice a day, every 12 hours. I am only taking my morning dose b/c i don't feel pain at night...I'm sleeping and very seldom wake up. Is it okay to take it once daily instead of twice daily? ## It is, because in the long run it's really up to you and what works best for you. It's usually just prescribed to be taken twice daily because each one is designed to last 12 hours and most people start to feel pain again when it starts to wear off. In reality, prevention works better than trying to get rid of pain once it has started, so a regular dosing schedule is needed. Learn more Oxycontin details here. However, you should make sure to let them, because if they check to make sure you are taking and ch... ...
