I got a cortisone inj. in my knee because it is bone on bone. That was on July 18th and today is July the 26th. I am very sleepy. Is this normal? ## Yes, that can be a normal side effect, according to the FDA, you may also experience administration site pain, redness, and inflammation. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? One of my friends had one done the other day and she said it is very painful.

I am on Ranexa for just 10 days 500 mg twice daily and each night I wake up at 2 or 3 am and cannot fall back asleep till morning. I feel exhausted already and don’t know if I can use only one tablet in the morning? I tried once to skip evening dose and slept much better. Please let me know if any sleeping pill can help and if it is safe to combine the two. Also can my body get use to it? Not being able to sleep make me feel depressed. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? It would best not to change your dose of the Ranexa, or to combine it with other medications, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. It has been known to cause insomnia as a side effect in some people that take it, but it is very rare.

Do you have a list of medications that will make you itch? I'm on six different types of medication. They are for depression, asthma, anxiety, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Any advice to help stop the itching? Can't sleep. ## Hello, Rachel! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Unfortunately, I can't state which one might be causing it, just based on the classes of the medications, nor can I possibly list all the medications that could cause itching, the FDA has far too large of a list. Can you please post back with the names of the actual medications you are taking? If so, I will be very happy to check the side effect information for you. Thanks!

Does anyone know why Dilaudid doesn't make me sleepy anymore? When I first started taking it I was very drowsy and now I don't fall asleep anymore. Nor do I get drowsy. Is this normal? ## Hello, Katrail! How are you? Such side effects usually only last for a few weeks, while your body is getting used to the medication, then they taper off. Thus, it shouldn't make you drowsy, all the time, if you're taking it regularly. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may be able to prescribe something to help you sleep. ## This is common with opiates. Usually if you are taking it for too long your body...

Can you please post back with the shape, and color? Those can be side effects of many medications, according to FDA warnings, they may also include nausea, mood changes, and weight changes, though these are just general side effects. Are you on any other medications?

I am currently on morphine (one every 4-6 hours) for severe stomach pains until i can make an appointment for a scan. I get tired a lot, often makes me groggy and quite weak. Other symptoms i get with morphine are headaches and nausea. The tired part is normal due to the medication being very strong. ## Hello, Khloe! How are you? Yes, those can all be normal side effects of Morphine, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, headache and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello Khloe, Narcotic medications have numerous different effects on people and they also vary how they affect those that take them. It sounds like you haven't taken those types of medications before, or at least not much at all. First off please make sure you're not doing...

I started Contrave 4 days ago, today being my 5th dose. Every day, I take the pill about 8am and by 9:30-10am I am so sleepy I can't stand it. Days 1 and 2 I managed to fight it off until about 12-12:30, day 3 until about 1-1:30, and day 4 I fought it off until 3pm. If I take a 1-2 hour nap, I wake up fine, with energy and then cannot get to sleep until about 2am, sometimes 3am. Today is day 5, I'm having that "drunk" feeling and sleepy, but no where near how it has been. It seems this effect is slowly wearing off, but I haven't seen anywhere where this is a common side effect. I know all medications effect everyone differently, so I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, or just another side effect that I will get used to as the weeks go o...

I am prescribed 60mg of morphine sulfate twice daily and 30mg of immediate release morphine every eight hours. About one to two hours before the next dose is due I become very sleepy. When I take my dose it makes me wide awake. Why does it work this way on me ## Hello, Trish! How are you? There's no real explanation for it, that's just how some opiates work in some people that take them. That's part of the reason that some people become addicted, they like the rush of energy they get from them, so they keep taking more and more to keep experiencing it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have not stopped sleeping. Now I feel so angry and violent. Easily agitated. Frustrated. This drug does nothing theraputic except sleep and good dreams. I just want to beat my Dr.s head in for prescribing this crap!!! It sounds like others have a trip on it. I have read it was prescribed for anxiety to pyschosis. Is this the new valium? All I have is a case of seasonal blues! Does this mean I need a prescription for a med. given to schitz patients? I can not get full on this stuff. EAT<EAT<EAT.. talk about adding to depression! ## hello. yes i take 200mg at night, helps me sleep.i do not take ,the one the Dr, wants me too take in the morning, it makes me feel, weak all over. sometimes i take just half of 1. hey, seems too work for me. tell your Dr openly how it makes you feel a...

Is there another medication stronger than 10 mg zolpidem? Lately, zolpidem hasn't been putting me asleep with one pill. I've been doing 3 a night... which makes me run out of the prescription before the 30 day time-frame! I haven't had a chance to talk with my doctor yet but I will. Any suggestions? ## Try a different brand of generic. Some are notoriously weak. Which brand are you taking now? ## This medication is really only intended for the short term treatment of insomnia, not for long term use. How long have you been taking it? The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness, sleep actions, hallucinations, and next day hangover-like effects. What other medications have you tried? Taking 3 of them can be very dangerous. ## Hey guys, Sleepless ...

Why does a Watson 932 make you so groggy? Never had this happen could they be old? ## Hello, Bella! How are you? Watson lists this tablet as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone know what store makes this brand, it works GREAT & I can't remember where I got it... Thanks~ Sleepless in Georgia... ## Hi Sonya, Don't mean to disappoint, but based on my research there are no sleep aids being marketed by the name of "guardian nighttime sleep aid", "guardian sleep aid", or any other variation of those words. This is not to say that they don't exist, but if they do, they certainly aren't being marketed in a way that makes them easily accessible to the public eye. Do you recall whether it was some form of homeopathic remedy or something only available at health food stores? Any other specific details on the packaging/label might also help to narrow down our search... Thanks! ## Yes it's sold by Dollar Tree stores!! I b...

This pill is oblonged, bright green an makes you see some crazy s*** ## Hello, is there any kind of imprint on the pill? The reason I ask is because U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have unique letters or numbers (sometimes in addition to a logo of some kind) imprinted on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance, and dosage. If you can give me any additional information, it will make it much easier for me to Identify this pill for you. Thanks! ## got some A49 green tablets that put me to sleep rite away they are round and supposed to be oxycodone 15mg. Puzzled in Fla.

Will this pill make u sleepy? So should I take it at bedtime? ## Hi Alicia, The green pill you're describing marked 44 464, contains the following active ingredients: Acetaminophen 500mg + Diphenhydramine 12.5mg + Phenylephrine 5mg. As far as side effects are concerned, high doses of acetaminophen can cause extreme tiredness. Drowsiness, dizziness, and muscle weakness, are also listed as common side effects of diphenhydramine. On the contrary, "sleeplessness" is listed as a general side effect of phenylephrine. So it sounds like you have a mix medications that could be pulling your energy in all these different directions, depending on how your body reacts to them. Not everyone who takes those medications experiences these types of side effects. So in the end it's reall...

Greetings to all, My brother has sleep apnea for years. He suffered a heart attack two years ago. He was prescribed Vasotec which he is currently taking. His sleep apnea has worsened and he sleeps for 14 hours per day. He recently started using the cpap machine for his obstructive sleep apnea. Does Vasotec cause sleep apnea or make it worse if it is a pre-existing condition? I hope that someone can answer this question. Many thanks Jazzy ## Vasotec contains the active ingredient Enalapril and yes, it is known that ACE inhibitors can cause coughing and airway inflammation that can cause, or worsen apnea. Has he consulted his doctor? He may need to try a different medication.

I am taking 3 30 mgs of MSContin per day. It makes me sleepy and I need a nap about an hour after taking it. My Doctor is willing to switch me to OxyContin 30 mgs 3 30 mgs per day. Which medicine makes you sleepier? ## No one can say for sure if a certain med will make you sleepy. Morphine is more sedating, for most people, than OxyContin is. ## Hello, Candy! How are you? When I was on pain management for several years, Morphine always knocked me out, but I only experienced a little drowsiness with Oxycodone. My husband has been taking Cheratussin AC 10-100MG/5ML. He has not slept since he started taking it. (over 46 hours). He has bronchitis and is coughing a lot. Should he not take this. He is 73 and no sleep concerns me. ## I'm not sure what might be causing his insomnia, it could be due to the coughing itself, that can make it very hard to sleep. The medication shouldn't cause it, since one of the ingredients is Codeine, which usually causes drowsiness. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is he taking anything else? Has he gotten any sleep, yet?
