I am a 41 y/o woman who has had a complete hysterectomy. I am currently taking Estradiol in a low dosage (small pink pill) and have only been taking it for about 3 weeks now. I still don't feel right. I feel like mentally, I'm cloudy and not able to focus. I have been having some trouble sleeping recently too. Also, I'm irritable, and have been having hot flashes something bad. My question is, do you think I would benefit from having the dosage raised a little, or should I wait and see another week. I am also having symptoms similar to an anxiety attack, pretty regularly. Please tell me if I should try another form of estrogen, or wait and see how this will go. ## I am very sorry about what you're experiencing. You should have yourself checked out, you may need a dosage ...

I had a hysterectomy 9 months ago,I was suffering from severe cramping & heavy periods along w/ bladder leakage and painful intercourse. I'm was only 33, already had my 2 boys and a tubal ligation so I didn't want anymore children. I went to a new Gyno that a friend recommended, the first visit after the examination & some talking about my problems. He said I needed the surgery & sat it up that day for 3 weeks later. He said my bladder had dropped and it needed to be tacted up It was never even mentioned that a bladder sling would be used. I was just so happy to have found a Dr. willing to help me,I never thought to ask about the sling or mesh. It WS & had been all over TV for awhile, I assumed it wasn't even used anymore. Needless to say after the surgery I was

Had hysterectomy done n was old to take shel all os . After about 10 yrs of taking shel all os , will I have any side effects?? ## Hello, Malti! How are you? This is just a nutritional supplement, so there is no harm to long-term use, as long as you don't exceed the recommended dosage. However, the FDA warns that it may cause constipation in some people. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had a hysterectomy a couple weeks ago and a week later had a blood clot in my right calf. I was prescribed Xarelto 2x 20mg a day. Two days later I had excessive abdominal bleeding. Was told to take only 1 pill for the next 24 hours, the bleeding didn't stop and I was told to stop taking altogether. After 24 hours no bleeding so I was told to start back up (this was just a couple hours ago). As of yesterday I have an intermittent shooting pain in my left upper leg, when it hits me the pain is so strong I almost fall to the ground...then it goes away. I have also gained 4 pounds since I started taking it. I hardly eat as I'm still on paid meds from my surgery so it sounds like this may be a side effect as well. Anything on this horrible leg pain I am suddenly having? It hasn...

I had a hysterectomy yesterday and also suffer from fibromalgia. Can I take melfen 400mg exprim and gerax 250mg together please ## Hello, Anto! How are you? They can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. However, you may experience more side effects than you would otherwise, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, stomach irritation and sedation, according to the U.S. FDA. Are these the only medications you take?

At age 46 I had complete hysterectomy and was prescribed Estratest which I continued to take until age 63. Due to bad publicity for this medication, I informed my primary care dr. that I was not continuing to take it. He did not agree and told me he was making note of "my choice" in my medical history. Now, 10 years later, I am having severe dry eye problems and am allergic to Restasis. No optical meds for relief are available...over the counter eye meds give no relief. My son suggested that I get back on Estratest. Since I have had a complete hysterectomy, and other major medical issues, what is the risk to getting back on Estratest??? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? The risks are the same as always, when using HRT, it can cause blood clots, that could lead to heart attack or strok...

I had a hysterectomy and rectocyll and cystosill(sorry for the spellings) surgery about 8 weeks ago. I was taking a light green tablet and I was not having any trouble, now the refill is a small oblong dark green stamped 1490. I have been on this for about 2 and half weeks and I am experiencing some break through bleeding. Is this normal? ## If you had a full hysterectomy and are experiencing bleeding, you need to consult your doctor. Once you are past the point of being able to menstruate, bleeding should not occur, even from taking a medication and needs to be checked out by your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

I just had a hysterectomy about a week ago I had to return to the dr because I'm bleeding he did a vaginal ultrasound and saw that I have a blood clot he prescribe me this medicine for infection but what about the clot ## If it's just a small one in the vaginal area, then usually nothing is done for them. In most cases, they'll be either reabsorbed into the body or eventually expelled. But you should ask your doctor to be certain. This antibiotic is a generic for Augmentin and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Augmentin details here. I had to have a complete hysterectomy at the age if 19 due to cancer. I was put on estrogen 2mg. I was on it for years and then they found a mass in both breast so I had to have surgery and have them removed. It wwasn't cancer. They rrefused to put me back on hormone replacement so for five years things just kept getting worse. I went to a new ob/gyn and he prescribed me the estrogen/methyl 1.25/2.5. The first bottle i got was name brand and had no issues. Now I had to switch to mail order pharmacy because if my insurance or pay 100% of the cost if I chose to go to a different place so I had to switch. They sent me a 90 day supply of the generic and now i have this awful rash on my chest. I have not switched any bath soap, laundry detergent or anything else. This has been the only c...

I had a total hysterectomy at age 33, I'm now 57. Do I absolutely still need to take this? I'm a smoker (1pk a day) & my Dr just had me sign a form that it is dangerous to my health! Do I really need it? ## Hello, Toots! How are you doing? That is entirely up to you. Unless someone is a danger to themselves or others, which caused some situation to occur where they are under court order, no one can force you to take any given medication. It is your choice and you are free to stop, if you don't feel comfortable taking it, anymore. If you stop taking it, the FDA warns that you may experience symptoms of menopause, which could include hot flushes, headache, irritability, and spotting. Some women need the assistance of HRT, some women don't. My mother-in-law is 70 and ne...

I'm 61 and have had a hysterectomy 30 years ago. Is it safe for me to stop taking divigel? ## HI, Marlene! Are you taking just the Divigel by itself? It's been found to be dangerous to just take unopposed Estrogens and this contains one of them, Estradiol. Have you had any symptoms, such as weight gain around your hips, stomach and thighs that you can't lose? Hot flashes? Night sweats? Headaches? Feeling irritable or emotional? If so, then that will likely give you your answer, since they are most often caused by too much estrogen. Up until a a few years ago, conventional medical thinking was that such symptoms were caused by the decrease in estrogen that occurs after menopause, be it natural or surgically induced. However, it has since been discovered that such symptoms are...

I had an abdominal Hysterectomy Jan 28. Due to my super high tolerance of medications in general (not just the pain meds), It turned out to be a bit more complicated in the end, so when they sent me home on was on strict Bed-Rest for 8 1/2 weeks. And for the first six weeks I just took the Diluadid as directed (which worked out to be 72 mg/24 hour period. Then at six weeks, with the help of my doctor slowly weaned myself off of them. It took a couple of months to accomplish! My question now is (I took my last dose a week or so ago)...the two issues that I'm still really struggling with is Depression and bad anxiety, I do have a medication to help with the Anxiety...but it just makes me tired and lethargic. Which does nothing to help the Depression, so if it's been at least a wee...

i took this drug after a radical hysterectomy and removal of lymph nodes for bladder infection from 01/27/12 til 04/19/12. i quit taking after an allergic reaction. now have severe pain in hands, and in am or after periods of rest or not using hands fingers lock, i have to move with other hand. pain is severe. is there a bad drug suit? I have worked all of my life and want to continue working but hand pain is severe ## No, there is really no bad drug suit, so to speak. As long as something is warned about as being a possibility, in the side effects, regardless of how rare the possibility, then there really isn't much you can do if it happens to you. I'm sorry you're suffering, but that is why few lawyers will bother to pursue these types of cases, there just isn't much g...

Hi there I'm 45. F, After a Hysterectomy I discovered a pain in my back, after CT scan discovered a PV on my Lung. I was put on the 2 x 15mg xarelto and now on the 20mg for 6 mths. Swollen/painful left foot, behind the knee, wrists, left side throat gland? and the dizzy spells, severe headaches, blurred vision. It's enough to keep me almost bed ridden! I just had a complete hysterectomy abdominal incision. Can I take 3mg melatonin and one 5/325mg percocet? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? It would be best to check with your doctor, before combining these, since both the Oxycodone and the Melatonin increase sedation. It could be too much for you and may put you in danger. The FDA classifies Oxycodone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Full hysterectomy at 40. Taking this pill for 2 mo. Just started with terrible acne and pus pockets on my head. Is this too much for me? Can I just stop taking it? ## Have you consulted your doctor? And how long have you been taking it? This is a hormonal product and it can cause such side effects, for awhile, as your body gets used to the medication. ## This med I was told by my Dr should improve your skin. However anything is possible for awhile while your body is still getting use to the medication. My best guess is that this will improve in time.

I'm 49 years old, had a particial hysterectomy in 2002. Moved to Amsterdam in 2006, and in 2008 developed ovarian cysts. Had them removed in 2009, they grew back in less than 6 months. Started taking Orgametril around Oct 2009 for recurring cysts. The cysts have shrunk completely. I haven't gained weight, but I have suffered from hemmoroids since June 2010 (sugrery for this in Dec.). However, I have night sweats and very bad mood swings. I have been very depressed with little will to live. This impacts my relationship with my partner, friends, and family. I thught the depression was because I've been looking for work for 2 years and so bored sitting home all the time (friends work and have families; partner works anytime he is awake...) and unable to care for personal financ...
