Hysingla Er Hydrocodone Bitartrate

Hydrocodone (Dihydrocodeinone) is an opioid used to treat pain and as a cough suppressant.[9] It is taken by mouth.[9] Typically it is dispensed as the combination acetaminophen/hydrocodone or ibuprofen/hydrocodone for pain severe enough to require an opioid[10][11] and in combination with homatropine methylbromide to relieve cough.[9] It is also available by itself in a long-acting form under the brand name Zohyd...

I have chronic pain from what a dr did to me 30 years ago, he damaged nerves in my lower back, from surgery he did. nothing helps they have had me on, been on hydrcodone 10-325 helps little but I'm always in pain constantly, dr now gave me the Hysingla 20 mg, how long will it take before I'll feel that it's working?, took first one last night!, absolutely nothing has it helped., I had to take my hydrcodone early afternoon today., I'm going to take it a few nights to see if it does anything, just wondering if it takes a while to feel anything? I just want to feel better to be able to have some kind of life., tired of being in pain. ## Hyslinga is a time released formulation of Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side e...

I have been on hysingla er 30 mg for a week. I was taking vicoprofin 7-325 5 x a day for severe back and hip pain. I don't feel anything on this medication. I've had a bad backache for 3 day s now and I am "waiting" for it to "kick in". It hasn't yet. I've been taking Advil which is helping a little. Why am I not getting relief from this medicine? They say is so strong. Are you joking? I feel nothing. I am wearing a clonidine patch in case I feel any withdrawals. Any answers? ## Hello, Brdie! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain and this medication isn't working. Hyslinga contains the active ingredient Hydrocodone, in a time released formulation. So it is only lacking the Acetaminophen and it doesn't work all at once, the medica...

This medication has not really helped me much at all. The first few days I noticed I wasn't hurting as bad in the morning. It doesn't keep pain away my break through pain has had me crying 4 days last week alone. I only have ibuprofen for break through pain and I'm suffering uncontrollably. I've had chronic pain issues for 9 years now . My anxiety is at a all time high since I can't get pain relief. I felt my Dr was pushing me to take this medicine. Then to top it off I'm nauseous and get headaches more frequently. I'm tired all the time and irritable from pain. Another horrible experience is that I have been soo constipated that I've almost passed out and bleed . I'm slowly losing my mind due to extreme pain. My Dr is not the easiest person to talk t...

Does the new Hyslinga work on severe pain better than Norco or Oxycodone? ## @MB, One might be able to compare the effects of Hysingla ER (Hydrocodone Bitartrate Extended-release) with Norco more easily since they share one of the same active ingredients. However, Oxycodone's analgesic effects are reportedly more potent than Hydrocodone and therefore I don't think Hysingla would be a better option than Oxycodone, personally. Then again, everyone tends to react/respond differently to these meds based on tolerance, level of pain, inert ingredients, metabolism, body chemistry, etc... So you may have to try them all for yourself in order to grasp a truly valid opinion between the three medications. One thing I do hear a lot though is that extended release meds are often recognized a...

This is day 3 of me taking Hysingla 20mg after taking Norco 10/325mg three to four times a day. So far I've noticed some wacky side effects. The pill seems to kick in at around 8hrs, and I can't keep my eyes open, I get a rush of anxiety and nausea. I've taken EVERY other ER opiate in the world and none of them did this to me. I do notice that it has lessened my extreme pain already and I have taken a few norcos on top of it thru out the day, but the 8hr mark seems to be like a different world kicking in. Has anyone been on this for awhile, went thru these side effects and then came out the other end actually liking this med? I can find NOTHING on the internet regarding much experience or reviews out there on people who are taking this med. I've woken up in the middle of...

PM Doc put me on Hysingla 40mg, works great but a real pain to find a drug store that had it or would order it. Search all major drug stores from Hammond La to Mandeville La. Finally was able to fill at a new independent place that just opened in the shopping center adjacent to Win Dixe on Hwy 21 in Covington La. I believe it's Laytons Phamacy. They were able to fill it in one day. ## I'm very glad that you finally found it. Most drug stores can't order it in, because they are limited in how much they can order and stock of controlled substances each month. Thus, if they've already stocked their limit on other controlled substance or run out, they cannot order a new supply until the next month. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the pot...

Is Hysingla ER as bad as Zohydro ER? ## Hello, Wondering! How are you? What problems did you have with Zohydro? This is basically the same thing, it also contains Hydrocodone as the active ingredient, in an extended release formulation. It's just manufactured by a different company and the time released mechanism is different. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## To the initial poster. If you are reacting to Zohydro's initial lack of any type of anti-abuse deterrent, Hysingla ER has such deterrents in place. While there is a lot of controversy surrounding these new extended release hydrocodone based medications...

I have been given hysingla er 20 mg. Have had 11 back surgeries including a spinal cord injury surgery. Severe pain. Been on it 2 days. Not much relief yet. If not dissolvable, how does it metabolize in the stomach to release medicine? ## Hello, Percy! How are you? The medication is slowly released, thanks to your stomach acid, your stomach acid is very strong and can dissolve many things that cannot be broken down by water or other liquids. Though, it's a gel substance, the best example I can give would be perhaps a sponge that you soak and then let sit somewhere... the liquid that soaked it is slowly released for a certain period of time, it doesn't all drain out at once and cause the sponge to be immediately dry. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so ...

I have been on 8mg Dilaudid and 80mg hydrocodone for about 4 yrs. My doctor now changed me to Hysingla (hope that's right spelling). Anyways, they are 80mg, but had to change back because they didn't work as well. Now he's telling me that between the 2, I'm taking like 12 times the amount of the highest does of morphine given out and is now sending me to a pain doctor. Is that true? ## No, you are not taking 12 times the highest dose of Morphine, but you are exceeding the highest dose that the DEA recommends. They have issued directives that doses be limited to no more than the equivalent of 120mgs of Morphine, per day, some states have lowered it further to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine, per day. You are currently taking roughly twice that. The only ...

Found some of these in my cabinet from 2015. I am in severe pain & took one, but don't feel much. Could they be expired? I don't want to take another & have too much in my system. ## Yes, most tablets and capsules are considered to be expired one year from the date you received them from your pharmacy, after that they start to lose efficacy, according to FDA directives. This, it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription, if you require a pain medication. The FDA also warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 for quite a while. I was recently given Hysingla ER 20mg and it has done nothing for me. I'm in agony and don't know what to do. This is my 2nd day of this medication and I'm about to go nuts from withdrawal symptoms. What can I do? ## @Blumbley57, Sorry to hear about your experience with Hysingla not working out. Given the information in your description, it sounds to me like it would probably be best to ask your doctor for the initial version of Hydrocodone that your body has already been accustomed to having on a regular basis. In the meantime while you're waiting to see the doctor again, I would encourage you to simply focus on taking care of yourself as best you can nutritionally, mentally, emotionally, and setting aside other p...

My Dr. has switched my from Hysingla ER 60mg/daily (taken for 2 years) to 25 mcg/Fentanyl 1/every 3 days patch for a short time while I go through a tumor extraction in the rectal cavity. having to be on serious laxitives and bowel prep for the evaluations have left me with little to no pain meds in my system and the onset of withdrawl symptoms. Anyway I'm 24 hours on this new patch and Sometimes I feel okay but mostly in pain that I wasn't when on Hysingla. Am I getting adequate dosage, does it take awhile to help? Also take Cymbalta 60mg 1/daily and Nuerotin 30mg/ 2 daily ## The laxatives are depleting in your body of the opioid more quickly because that's what laxatives do, they clean you out, especially toxins, which can be a huge reason many people have constipation. Need help managing my pain, for next 3wks. For work. Then disc replacement surgery... ## Hello, Julie! How are you? There are many other options you can take with it, as listed by the NIH, such as regular release Oxycodone, Morphine or Dilaudid. It really depends on which your doctor feels is safest for you. They may even have you try to augment it by adding some Acetaminophen. However, as I said, you should only do so with their approval. Some medications may cause problems with your surgery, so you may not be able to take them beforehand. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No,not right now, but thanks for the info...

I have multiple sources of pain resulting in three surgeries in two years(detailed shoulder & foot/ankle and sinus) and have been on numerous pain medications throughout the healing and PT aspects of healing. I also have had four epidurals and six other neck/back injections during this time. When my pain was so severe my BP shot to 190/120 and I felt miserable, I was put on Hysingla 30, then later 40mg. Without this medicine, I don't think I could have made through that period. I have read numerous forums on Hysingla and always come away a bit confused how it affects others. First off, there is no real "kicking in" period that I experience to a large degree. A couple hours after taking it(I always take it in the evening) I yawn a bit and my eyes might water a bit. This i...

I have been taking this for 2 months now starting at 20 and now at 30 and I've been waking up (sometimes after only 4 or 5 hours sleep) with severe pain in my fingers, hands and sometimes my arms!? I don't see an exact pattern it seems to be more random. Has anyone else noticed similar effects when taking this medication? Maybe it was more so in the beginning, I should have written it down it was very frightening and painful ??. ## Since my last post I have experienced an alarming event with my fingers turning white and painful and it turns out it's something called Raynaud's syndrome. You kind of Google it, it is exactly what happened to me twice now since my last post. The vessels close and basically stop circulation to the fingers at last at 30 mins the first time n 1...

How dose 80mg of hysingla 24hr release hydro compare to the Percocet 10/325..I have RSD which is a damaged nerve I have been put on everything just got off fentanyl patch 100mg... I have notice the long action meds dont do as good ## Hello, Crystal! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Taking the 80mg Hyslinga would be equivalent to taking 53.33mgs of Oxycodone daily. Thus, that is a pretty high dosage. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So thats like taking 5 Percocet 10/325...I take 4 Percocet a day with my hysingla. .so was my fentanyl patch 100mg stronger?? ## I...

I have been on Morphine ER, Oxycodone 20 mg x 4 daily for breakthrough! At the same time I took 120 mg of OxyContin in England, so it’s not the gel hysingla, I’ve used fentanyl patch! Everything from tylox, Norco, Vicodin etc! My doctor put me on 80mg hysingla with NO breakthrough medication! This does NOT last 24 hrs as it says and I need something for the breakthrough to function! ## How long have you been taking it? What were you taking before the Hyslinga? More details would enable people to provide you with more details. You might not be on a comparable dosage. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

Has anyone experience body cramps from taking Hysingla ER and have you found any ways to suggest to prevent or relieve the cramping? See "my story" below: I started on Hysingla ER 20 mg and am now up to Hysingla ER 80mg(due to insurance not approving a therapeutic dose to begin with). I normally do not share and am a very private person but because of Hysingla ER being so new I decided maybe my experiences would help someone else. I was in picture perfect health! I worked as an Emergency RN for over 25 years and VERY against narcotics. I was in an auto wreck that left me with severe spinal injuries (cervical and lumbar). I started with tramadol (did nothing) then lower doses of Norco. As time passed the pain worsened and the Norco doses and frequency increased. My life was getti...
