When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure of the systemic circulation. During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure.[1] The blood pressure in the circulation is principally due to the pum...

I am experiencing hypotension (72/40) Is this related to the use of this drug? I am calling the doctor tomorrow. Also experiencing nausea. Please help ## This is still Gary...the BP should read 72/40. ## Hi, Gary! Sorry about the issues you're having. Are you feeling any better? The nausea can be a normal side effect of this antibiotic, however, the hypotension isn't. But the question there is whether or not you've had other side effects from it, such as diarrhea? If so, then you may be getting dehydrated, which could be causing the low BP. Learn more Nitrofurantoin details here.

I have had incidents of orthostatic hypotension and syncope in the recent past. I will have blood pressure fluctuations during the day ranging from sometimes a morning high of 154/90 down to 93/56 at some point during the day. I have Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction, pulmonary venous hypertension and moderate diffusion disorder. The lung diffusion disorder is 4 points away from severe. I'm iron deficiency anemic and have numerous other medical issues. Last year I had a CRP four times normal and an ESR, I think, that was twice normal. I was placed on hydroquinine (sp) and am still on it. The maximum dosage twice a day. I have central sleep apnea and OSA. My vpap settings are 18/13. I also have controlled asthma and copd. ## Hello, Donamel! How are you? Your blood pressure readings are s...

I need the side effects of this high blood pressure drug ## Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, hypotension and dizziness. You can read more about the medication and additional side effects here: Is there anything else I can help with? ## How long does it take for side effects to go away after the drug is discontinued ## Theresa, it can vary, depending on the dosage and how long you were taking it. I am very sensitive to medications and usually found that when I suffered bad side effects and discontinued one, it took 2 weeks at a minimum for them to wear off and the max was usually about 4 weeks. 74 y /o female diagnosed with vit D2 def-cy and prescribed Vit D2 50000IU/week.Before that developed signs of facial swelling and 1 episode of hypotension and ? allergic reaction.Labs- pending. Should she take VitD2 or Vit D3? ## Hello, Rya! How are you? She should take the one her doctor has prescribed. But the high dosage may cause some nausea and dizziness. They are two different forms of Vitamin D and, at her age, there is likely good reason her doctor has specifically prescribed D2 and not D3. Is she on any other medications?

I began taking Coversyl 2MG (Perindopril Erbumine) around 10 days ago. For the first week symptoms of side effects were minor, lately I seem to fit in to a 0.3% group who exhibit Hypotension. Also dizziness, joint & muscle pain, easily and earlier tired, bouts of Diarrhea and so on. Since the mission of this medication seems noble, I would like to stay on it. 2MG is the lowest initial dosage. Does anyone know if the tiny tablet can be cut in half ? (Becomes 1MG?)

I've been taking the Reaptan brand of Perindopril/Amlodipine (5mg-5mg) & now I am experiencing side effects as such as dizziness, mild headache, stomach pain, hypotension and finger cramps. I fear it may cause more risks to my system. Should I stop taking this medication? ## How long have you been taking it? How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? If you have high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, it is far more risky for you to let such a condition remain uncontrolled, since they have the potential to be fatal. They could result in a heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure. The issues you've reported are listed by the NIH as being normal side effects of this medication, you may also experience increased urination. Most side effects taper off, and ...

5 years ago my father had a double bypass and was prescribed Felodipine, Atenolol, and Clopidogrel. He is still taking them and now has signs of low blood pressure and orthostatic hypotension. He has confusion, dizzy spells, shakes, and has fallen several times now. is the 3 prescribed medications a common combination and/or can it be the cause of his recent episodes? ## Yes, prescribing several to get better control of blood pressure and to stabilize cardiac conditions is completely normal. However, our bodies do change with time, so what worked well for years may suddenly start causing problems. The Clopidogrel is used to prevent clotting, not to control blood pressure. Learn more Clopidogrel details here. So that means that if his BP is going too low, the likely cuplrits would be the...
