Having problems with these doing much for relief. Tying to come back from cancer and other medical problems. Here they are just aspirin. ## Hi Larry, Will they not prescribe you anything else but this mid-level Vicodin? I find it odd that patients without such conditions have access to much stronger pain medications. Although I wouldn't wish those addicting opiates on anyone, sometimes intervention is necessary to get the initial relief you need. If your doctor is unwilling to prescribe what you feel you need, then it may be time to switch doctors to someone who specializes in pain management. I recently was on 7.5 325 T and doc just switched me to 5-325-TB. What is the difference between the two? As in what amount of aspirin/Tylenol, does the amount in prescription strength, above mean? Like 7.5 to the 5, & the amount that didn't change 325? I have severe lower back pain, after standing or walking for several hours, as well as after strenuous work around the house, bending stooping, etc., & an MRI showed spinal stenosis. Why the mad dash for vicodin? Are so many willing to ruin their liver for a couple hrs of a buzz? ## Sometimes lortab is the only thing that works for the pain. If aspirin worked, i'd take that. ## There are other less damaging remedies to the situation. I don't know your situation-but you may wish to consult a pain specialist for the empirical solution that may be at the cause. The original prescription filled Hydrocodone 5 500 TAB MLKCM. imprint M357 They refilled with Hydrocodone/APAP*** (WATSON 349) and now I sometimes have blood in stool. Does the APAP have aspirin which causes internal bleeding with me, and caffeine, whcih the M357 does not seem to have that effect. What should I do? ## Neither of the tablets you mentioned contain Aspirin or Caffeine, they both contain Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. (The Acetaminophen is what the APAP stands for.) I have been taking Hydrocodone 10/325 for chronic pain, 1 pill every 6 hours. My Dr. just prescribed Oxycodone 5/325 with up to 2 pills every 6 hours. Which is stronger? ## The oxy is stronger but who knows your body may b used 2 the vicoden. But if he is allowing u 2 take 2 @ a time it would b better if he would just give u the percocet 10/325 as it would b as effective with 1/2 the amount of aspirin. Try it out n post your feedback. ## Scott is correct, the Oxycodone is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone. To equal 10mgs of the Hydrocodone, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone, so I'd advise caution when you first take them, you probably shouldn't take 2 of them, until you try one and see how well it works for you. Having hip surgery in 4 days. I was given a prescription for Hydrocodon-Acetami Nophen 5-325 by my Internist for pain when needed. I have only taken a few in the last week but today, I am hurting a bit more. I know I am to stop taking anything with aspirin in it 7 days before surgery except for tylenol which doesn't work for me.
