771 ## My husband has been taking Hydrocodone 5-500 for 10 days. It is not helping his back pain. I took lortab and extra acetaminophen for years, then in 2012 found myself with an ulcer in my stomach. Wound up having over half my tummy removed! While doing so just once isn't likely to cause severe issues, it is always best to consult your doctor to be sure. The Hydrocodone tablet you took contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so it is never a good idea to add more Acetaminophen (Tylenol) to the mix. Taking too much in any 8 hour period risks causing liver damage or liver failure. I took two Tylenol #3 and 4 hours later took a hydrocodone. Will I be ok to go to bed? Or will it hurt me? ## Did you experience any adverse effects? How are you doing? What was the dosage of the Hydrocodone? There is a risk of depression of the central nervous system, according to FDA reports. There is a chance that you may experience Acetaminophen toxicity, if too much of it is taken in any 8 hour period. Can you please post back and let us all know how you are doing? I have been reading some information, and I am wondering if Tylenol 3 is the same as Hydrocodone? ## Based on my research, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: Acetaminophen + Codeine. But "NOT" Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is alot like codeine, except that codeine is said to be a natural derivative of opium plants whilst hydrocodone is synthetic. Hydrocodone is also proven to be much stronger. I hope this helps to answer your question!

Is Hydrocodone the same or contain the same ingredients/drugs as Tylenol 3 with codiene? ## From what I could gather, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: acetaminophen + codeine. Inactive ingredients complete the composition of this medication. So to better answer your question, hydrocodone is not the same, nor is it even contained in this medication. You might be thinking of norco or lortab, which contain a similar combination of acetaminophen + hydrocodone. Both medications are used for pain relief, but I'd consider hydrocodone to be much more potent than codeine from my own experience. No, they have not done anything different, but some medications work better for some people than others, which is why there are usually multiple choices available in any given drug class. For example, when given Dilaudid in the hospital, it gave me a severe headache every time, however, it is what they often use in the ER for people that come in with severe migraines. I take 3 Tylenol 4's a day & just got 7.5/325mg hydrocodone today. Would lortab 10 or tylenol #4 be stronger than 7.5 hydrocodone? I did not get the script filled yet. Thank you. ## Loratab 7.5 is somewhat stronger than Tylenol 4, and normally preffered by pain patients over the codeine in the 4's. The 10's are stronger than the 7.5's. How does T-3 30mg codeine relate mg to mg to hydrocodone and Oxycodone? Working on a weaning program after spine surgery. Prior to surgery I was on high doses of Oxycodone for quite a long time. Pain mgmt Dr is a joke, I feel they are looking at keeping me as a patient, I just want off all pain meds. It would be helpful to know how they correlate to make as smooth as possible ride down to zero mg/day. Was given RX Hydrocod/acetaminophen 7.5-325/15ML every 4-6hrs. Can you also use liquid tylenol 500 mg over the counter together, alternating? ## You should not combine OTC tylenol with any prescription meds that also contain tylenol. You may want to call or see your Dr or dentist if the rx you were given isn't helping the pain. ## I Ran out of my hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 10-325 T.
