Having problems with these doing much for relief. Tying to come back from cancer and other medical problems. Here they are just aspirin. ## Hi Larry, Will they not prescribe you anything else but this mid-level Vicodin? I find it odd that patients without such conditions have access to much stronger pain medications. Although I wouldn't wish those addicting opiates on anyone, sometimes intervention is necessary to get the initial relief you need. If your doctor is unwilling to prescribe what you feel you need, then it may be time to switch doctors to someone who specializes in pain management. The first number that you listed is the amount of the narcotic, the Hydrocodone and the second is the Acetaminophen. So, one of the contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen and the other 10mgs of the Hydrocodone and 325mgs of the Acetaminophen. Thus, in reference to the narcotic, for better pain relief, the one with 10mgs would be stronger, however, if you need more of the Acetaminophen, then the 5/500 would be stronger. Hi I am prescribed vicodin 5/500 120x/month for my arthritis I have a question, I wanted something with less acepthemanophen and was prescribed vicodin 5/325, I went to the pharmacy and they said there was no such thing, so I told my doctor and he prescribed me vicodin 5/300 , they are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. The closest I can find to this is a yellow, oblong tablet with WATSON over 853 on it. A white oblong pill marked M357 actually contains 5mg of Hydrocodone + "500mg" of Acetaminophen, made by Mallinckrodt. For verification, this particular tablet also carries a National Drug Code of 00406-0357. Having said that, I'm a little doubtful about whether this pill is still being made, considering that 325mgs of Acetaminophen is the new maximum dose that's allowed in prescriptions. 15 mg hydrocone in red capsule with a crown marking csei ## Is that the entire marking? There is no 15mg Hydrocodone that's regularly available on the U.S. market. It is only available in the manufactured products in a maximum of 10mgs of the Hydrocodone coupled with various strengths of Acetaminophen. Learn more Vicodin details here. Just started using hydrocodone apap tab5mg-325. This first dose I took is 2 pills at 12 noon. The bottle instructions say you can take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. It is now 3:15 pm and it feels like the hydro pills, made by Amneal are just about finished. The pills I have been taking prior to this are oxycodone, Mallinckrodt, acetaminophen 5-325 and I take 1 pill every 6 hours. This is OXY condone, NOT HYDRO codone made by Amneal. Are they different strengths? The HYDRO seems weaker. Whats the difference between the two? And should they be interchangeable? ## It does require 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equal to the 5mg Oxycodone you were taking, because the Oxycodone is stronger. The FDA now limits these combination prescription products to containing no more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose.
