I read many articles claiming that the opiate portion of a Vicodin tablet is in the specks. Any truth? ## Hello, Demetria! How are you? No, it is not true. They colored specks are exactly that, just colored specks that the manufacturer used to make their pills look different than all the others on the market. How a tablet looks is entirely up to their whit and whim. The Medication, however, is dispersed throughout the entire tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And the pharmacy doctor put 2 of 3 in red marker on bottle. I'm confused. Is the orange liquid suppose to make it easier for him to swallow. ## To be honest, I'm a little confused by your post. You're talking about 2 different medications. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, though the Hydrocodone can also help treat couching and the Acetaminophen can help break a fever. I have a bright pink pill w orange\yellow powder. It is supposed to be a very strong norco but I'm not 100% Sure what it is?? Any advice? Or help ## Are there any markings on it? If not, then that means it's going to be difficult to determine exactly what the capsule contains. Norco contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, it's not available in capsules on the manufactured pharmaceutical market, it's only available as tablets. Learn more Norco details here. If it contains these ingredients and is in an unmarked capsule, it would have to be a dosing that was specially ordered by a doctor and done by a compounding pharmacy….however, the color of the powder makes me doubt that, because it's usually a white or off-white substance. This last prescription I got were white tablets with little green specs - one side has the letter V and the other side has 3594. I have only taken solid white tablets in the past for Hydrocodone Pills ## Hi Sandra, The one's marked V 3594 are simply made by a different manufacturer than what most people are used to seeing. Oblong white pills definitely seem to be the most commonly prescribed versions, while there are yellow, blue, pink, orange and green tablets as well. I've also seen the white ones with red specs. Keep in mind though that these colors and/or shapes are always subject to change depending upon the discretion of the manufacturer. I hope this helps!
