I weigh 104.8lbs and have a impacted infected wisdom tooth. Would it be safe to take this dosage once a day for severe pain?? Thank you in advance :) ## Hi, Courtney! I'm sorry you're in pain. This is a pretty standard dose, but considering your size, you may want to just try half a tablet at once, especially if you aren't used to taking narcotics. The Hydrocodone in this is pretty potent. I generally run between 117 and 120, but have found that since I rarely take them, even the 5/500mg dosage of this hits me very hard and I can only handle half of a tablet at once. These are time released, so you can cut or break them, safely. Unless you already have a tolerance to narcotics, then I'd really think it best to start small and see how it affects you. You can always take t...

m-360 ## The dosage of this tablet is 750mgs Acetaminophen and 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone, a generic for Vicodin ES. ## I RECENTLY FOUND AN OLD PRESCRIPTION THAT SAYS HYDROCODONE/APAP EMG500MG. THE TABLETS ARE WHITE AND ROUND AND ARE ENCODED 5658. CAN ANYONE VERIFY THAT THESE ARE REALLY HYDROCODONE, OR HAVE I PUT SOMETHING ELSE IN THE RX BOTTLE? ## Prescription: HYDROCODONE/APAP 7.5/750 TBMCK (White, oblong; scored one side, other side inscribed: M360) Do know what 7.5/750 means. Needs something for pain - do not want to use unless absolutely necessary - prescribed 9/2006. Know source (McKrodt spec Pharmaceuticals - cannot find when searching.) Any advice appreciated.

oblong white pill with lP118 on it.i'm sleeping too much. ## The marking is actually IP118, this is Acetaminophen 750mgs and Hydrocodone 7.5mgs, a generic for Vicodin ES. Drowsiness is a very common side effect of all narcotic drugs, the longer you are on this dosage, the more your body should get used to it and the side effects should taper off. Unfortunately, if you are like me, then they never entirely taper off and you may have to fight drowsiness as long as you have to take narcotics. I have been on Morphine and Oxycodone, without changing the dosage, for several years now and I still have to fight drowsiness everyday. The worse of it will usually hit within a half-hour to 45 minutes of taking the pill. I just have to make myself stay awake, or sleeping is all I would do. So yo...

My son had his tonsils removed on 6/2/2009. He has been on this medication for 10 days for severe ear pain/throat pain especially before eating/sleeping. Is this drug addictive? Should I be concerned that he is still taking? My husband is more concerned. I would like to trust physician's recommendation in that they would not prescribe for so long if it were a concern. I need a second opinion please. ## When I worked pain management in a very large hospital in Atlanta, I was taught that if you take the medicine for pain, there is almost no risk for addiction. If, however, he is taking it for a "feeling" then there is an issue. True pain needs to be treated. I hope this helps.

I was given a script for pain when I had hip surgery. I got the pills (long white M368) but I have never used them. I was wondering if they were good for any type of pain? I took them in the hospital and I know that they worked. ## This is a generic perscription for vicodin. I have had these becasue my insurance won't pay for the real ones. Be careful with taking this medication. the 7.5 is the amount of real meadication, the 500mg is the amount of asprin or regualar pain reliever. It will eat your stomach up if you are not careful!! ## found this in room ## This is actually a combination of Acetaminophen with the Hydrocodone, so it can be very dangerous to self-diagnose and take it for other conditions, especially if you are taking any other prescription or over the counter drugs a...

I have taken the dosage as prescribed by Dr. and started with no side effects. The last 3 days though I have experienced frequent vomiting and can not even keep water down until the med has worn out.Is there any relation to vicitin which is what I thought the Dr. was supposed to prescribe to th pharmacy. ## Well, the Hydrocodone in this is a narcotic, so it can cause the nausea and vomiting, as a side effect, especially if you aren't used to taking it. Have you contacted your doctor about it?

white caplets m357 ## I found this in my son's backpack, he play's sports, is 22 and said he got a perscription from his medical coach/doctor at school. What does this do for a 22 year old third basemen? ## The pill which you are describing is Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone bitartrate (500 mg - 5 mg). Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone is a combination of two types of pain medicine to treat moderate to severe pain. Essentially, this prescription could be obtained if your son experienced such an injury during the game. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## It means he's 22 and you shouldn't be going through his backpack. Your worry, suspicion, and all t...

Hello, I take hydrocodone 5/325 for L3,4,5, disc pain and CIPN. It is not doing well for me. I was bumped up from 600mg of Neurontin to 800mg 2 months ago. All of March I was in constant pain, in the balls of my feet especially. I am wondering if the Hydrocodone needs to be increased since the neurontin/hydrcodone doses together aren't working. I will not see pain management doc again til May, any advice is very appreciated. Thanx :) ## Can you call them to explain the issue and see if you can get a sooner appointment? It's hard to say which one might need to be increased, or changed. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, constipation, mood swings, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications? ## Hey Verwon, ...

I have multiple sclerosis that cause leg pains and body pains. ## Hi Meletha, I'm very sorry to hear about your condition. But to answer your question, Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen is a narcotic analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain. 5/325 is regarded as one of the lowest doses you can get, so god forbid in the event that things escalate, there is always room to ask your doctor for a stronger version of the same medication. You can also learn more about this drug on the page for Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen Details I hope this helps!

Can I drink 8 hours after having one pill of 5/325 Hydrocodone/Tylenol? I am only wanting to have a couple. ## Hello, Genny! How are you? It is usually best to abstain from alcohol while taking any narcotic medication, especially one like this which also contains Acetaminophen/Tylenol. According to the NIH, both can be very harsh on the liver, so combining the two could result in liver damage, or failure. The FDA also warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking hydrocodone for leg problems an back.I recently had esopugus cancer but bear it.The funny thing I had a me I for my back and it barely showed anything. Now I am starting to think my stomach is the main problem. Is there any over the counter meds to replace my 10/325 hydrocodone I haven't found nothing yet.thx mike ## There is nothing OTC that will help the pain like what you've been.taking. Talk to your Dr. ## I can't attest to whether or not it's true, but I've heard speculation that certain strains of Kratom were probably the closest type of OTC alternative you can get to the analgesic effects of opioids.. This is not to say that it'll have anywhere near the same type of effect on your individual pain levels/tolerance to various treatment proto...

Is it? ## No not addicted got terminal illness. Wanted to know if it is the same cuz I dont like to take something I dont know.Got Sle Lupus pain every day ## Hello, Nat! How are you? Yes, both of the tablets you've mentioned contain 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 750mgs of Acetaminophen, they are generics for Vicodin, Lortab, Norco and others. Learn more Lortab details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it does have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Large, oblong, line in center, blue, says Watson 340 on it ## I think the marking on this tablet was actually WATSON 540, especially with it being blue and yes, it contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. Learn more Vicodin details here. This is a narcotic pain reliever, so it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. And there are a couple of important pieces of information that I need to add in regards to these tablets… The first is that they are now changing the color of these, due to the fact that there were people who were allergic to or sensitive to the dye in them. Thus, they are now being replaced by tablets that have the same marking and same ingredients, but which are white. The s...

Is (1) hydrocodone-acetaminophen soln 7.5-500 the same as (2) hydroco/apap 7.5-500 sol (says qualitest on bottle)? The first one made me drowsy but I went to a different pharmacy for the other and it didn't have the same effect on me why is that? ## The information you've posted denotes them as both being the same, especially if the manufacturer was the same for both. I'm not sure why one would make you drowsy and one wouldn't, perhaps in between your body just got a bit more used to the narcotic ingredient, Hydrocodone. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. Side effects, such as the drowsiness, normally only last for a few weeks as your body is getting used to a medication, then they tend to taper off in severity, until they disappear entirely. My doctor gave me this medication for pain? What can you tell me about it? ## My son was given IC Hydrocodone-APAP 5-500 Tablran for pain when he broke a finger. What was in this medication that he could be reacting to? ## yellow oblong pill with 36/01 or 10/96 on front withfancy v on back ## the yellow oblong pill has 10/93 or 36/01 one side and fancy v on back ## Jodi, that medication is Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, a generic for Vicodin or Lortab, the Hydrocodone is a Narcotic, which is probably what caused the side effect of making him sick, that is very common with these types of medications, especially if you aren't used to them. Someone taking them may also experience: drowsiness, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. You can read mo...

I was given these in a clinic in Vancouver B.C. They looked like es Vic.but no writing at all.just a line on one side nothing on the other.extremely hard 2 break in half,& they were light pink inside.terrible taste. ## Hi Ana, While it may be true that different manufacturers have quality control issues, I don't think there should be any reason to believe that they're counterfeit, if you were given these by a doctor/pharmacist at a clinic. Did they inform you that this was Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen or what is it that led you to assume it was? From an outside perspective, this could literally be anything if there are no markings to identify it by. However I've never ever heard of licensed pharmacies dispensing fake pills. Perhaps it wasn't stored properly, causing the...

how long do hydrocodone side effects last? I had gotten hurt by my horse and was in really bad pain, I took a hydrocodone I had left over from the year before when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Shortly after taking the pill I became dizzy and nauseated. When I stood up and attempted to move I would feel the need to vomit. This lasted from 2:30 in the afternoon until noon the following day. Is there any way hydrocodone could have caused all of this continuing to the next day? ## It certainly can, especially if you're sensitive to it and it sounds like that may be the case with you. Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic, so it can affect some people that way and likely means you should avoid it in the future, since there are other options you can take that may not affect you so sever...

Remember the FDA approves Hyslinga re to replace hydrocodone and the are putting naltrexone in oxys the bait n switch ## @Samo, One theory I had in regards to the thread question/title is that certain side effects could potentially be attributed to the variations of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) different manufacturers use in the composition of each tablet. Many ingredients I researched are generally regarded as safe, but others including dyes, still remain questionable for our health and well being. However, another thought as to why Hydrocodone could be making you sick, but not Oxycodone - is that if you're body is used to having a stronger narcotic like Oxycodone, then abruptly switching over to something much weaker in essence (such as Hydrocodone) is bound to bring abo...

Does Watson make a generic 750/325ES If not why? Because all I can fine so far is the generic of 750/500 and would like to use less than 500. ## The ES stands for extra strength, so any version of this medication with the ES designation is going to have more Acetaminophen in it, since that's the intent. And yes, Watson actually does make a 7.5/325mg tablet. It is oval and peach in color with the marking WATSON over 3203 on one side and a score line on the opposite side of the tablet. Learn more Vicodin details here. However, if you're doctor has prescribed the 7.5/500 dosage, that is all any pharmacy is going to offer you, because you can't change the dosage yourself. You'll need to get a new prescription from your doctor to get the other tablets with the lower amount of...
