I seem to have a very smart Doctor. He prescribed Norco 10-325 for post surgical pain. The first bottle gave me nothing but relief. The refill, at a different pharmacy, caused unbelievable itching all over and down my throat. I called and told him he had me look up the mfgr on the bottle. It was Qua. He said my problem is the dye used in the second batch. He re prescribed to the original pharmacy and got the Norco manufactured by Watson. If you are taking an opiate that is making you itch, have your doctor re prescribe from a pharmacy that uses the pill made by a different mfgr. You are probably not allergic to opiates or Codiene after all. ## Hello, Charliemike! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you experienced. However, I would like to clarify that while this may be ...

Does anyone experience itching of the throat when taking this medication. Just my throat itches, I do not have an itching sensation anywhere else. Nor do I have a rash or hives. I am prescribed 2 5/325 pills every 4-6 hours for pain caused by ovarian cysts. I have taken this medication in the past without any issues. Is it possible that I have developed an allergy to codeine? ## Have you consulted your doctor? It contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, not Codeine. However, if that is the only symptom you're having, it doesn't sound like an allergy, but you should contact your doctor to be sure. This is a generic medication, the name brand is actually Vicodin, or Norco, so you might be taking one made by a different manufacturer, than you did previously. Thus, there may be diffe...

hydrocodone-apap 10mg/325mg pale yellow tablet... I would like to know if this drug could cause itching? ## Yes, Hydrocodone can cause itching. Its called puritis, and is a very common side effect of the medication. ## That is correct, narcotics can cause itching in some people as a side effect, however, there is also another way it could be causing it and that would be if you are allergic to something in it. Have you consulted your doctor? In such cases, it is very important to discuss it with your doctor to determine if it is a side effect, or due to being allergic to something in the tablets. ## Yes, many of us using this drug experience itching. It is normal. No worries, just never take more than prescribed. Good luck! ## Yes, but you can take a Benadryl with it ## I have been takin...

I have taken Lorecet 10 for quite sometime. They were always blue in color but the last time I got them they were made by Watson and were white. I have nonstop itching with the white. Why? ## Hi, Taylor! Sorry about the problem you're having. And I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. So far, they claim to have only removed the dye, but many people are reporting experiencing odd side effects, or less effectiveness, which makes it seem that more has been changed. Learn more Lorcet details here. Have you alerted your doctor to the problem? They may need to write your prescription so no substitutions can be made and you can only be given the name brand.

as a side effect does this medication cause a diminished or loss in vision ## Based on information I've gathered I haven't found anything regarding vision impairment; just a number of other potential side effects that may or may not have some indirect effect to vision. Common side effects may include dry mouth, itching, pinpoint pupils, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, confusion, gas / heartburn, or flushed skin. If you experience irregular heartbeat or chest pain, difficulty breathing, wheezing, unusual weakness, cold / clammy skin, severe rash, fever, chills, or muscle aches and pains then notify your physician or prescriber ASAP! Also note that elderly patients have a higher likelihood of side effects. Please post back if you have any other questions or comments to add.

Walgreens filled for me this time and b4 giving it to me asked "your allergic to tramadol? But you've taken norco?" Being in a hurry I didn't think about it..but I've had to take 2 and I'm itching and breaking out soo I think I'll have to ask them about that ## They are different medications, however, when someone discovers they are allergic to one medication, there is always a risk that they may find more they are allergic to, as well. In such cases, it is best to stop taking it and consult your doctor immediately, according to NIH warnings, such reactions tend to get worse with repeated exposure. Has there been any change?

what does the t mean in hydrocodone/apap 10-325 t ## Hello, Dog! How are you? That just stands for tablet, meaning they are a solid tablet as opposed to the capsules that are available. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is the difference in the white and yellow tablet? Submitted by Lily M Stafford ## Does it cause itching? Itching

I had my knee surgery yesterday and am on hydrocodone 10/325. It manages pain pretty well but it seems to make me itch. I plan to call the Dr, but would like to know an equivalent pain medicine that I may tolerate better for this? Not taking it or not taking it as often results in significant increase in pain. ## Hello, Kalisnick! How are you? Percocet might be an alternative that you can try. It contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have hives with the itching or are you just feeling itchy? If there are no hives, then it may be just a side effect that will eventually go away, as your...

Is Hydrocodone Apap 10 325 safe to take if I am allergic to Codeine ? ## That's actually a good question, because Hydrocodone is a derivative of codeine. However my mom is allergic to codeine as well and she's on the same dose of Hydrocodone apap (10/325) right now and hasn't had any bad reactions other than the typical itching sensation that is sometimes associated with this combination. She was also initially worried about an allergic reaction but hasn't experienced one. With codeine she would break out in hives and whatnot. So I can only base my answer off of her experience, in that it should be fine since it's a derivative of codeine and not actual codeine. I hope this helps! ## They aren't the same substance, though they are distantly related, so being aller...

I THINK I'M HAVING A REACTION TO THESE DARN THING'S. I KEEP ITCHING, IS THIS NORMAL? ## Hello, Truckergirl! How are you doing? Very sorry about the problem that you're having. Do you also have a rash/hives, or are you just itchy? If you have a rash and/or hives, it would most likely be due to an allergic reaction. However, if your skin looks fine and you're just itchy, then it's most likely just a side effect of the medication. Narcotics can cause that in some people and it might just not the right analgesic for you to take.

I have taken Hydrocodone 10/500 for years on and off. Not dependent. The worst side effect was head itching. tolerable. I was off and recently prescribed 10/325. The itching is head to toe unbearable. I have scars from scratching. It lasts for days with very little help from Benadryl 50 mg. every 6 hours. My doctor said Oxycodone 10/325 will be better. I took it after a meal. One to two hours later I am very nauseous. 3-4 hours latter headache and intense itching. 13 hours later I still feel sick from it. When I need pain medication I need it badly. I can't suffer in bed all the time. Help please. what are my alternatives? ## Hello, Bon! How are you? Can Ip 110 hydrocodone cause pruritis? When taking another form of generic hydrocodone, norco, no itching was experienced but it was experienced after taking the first dose of Ip 110. Is the itching a possible side effect of an allergic reaction to IP 110. Is it a dangerous reactionY? ## Almost everyone I know who has taken Hydrocodone (including myself) has also experienced the side effect of itching. 'Pruritus' is a sensation that causes the desire or reflex to scratch. From my perspective, Hydrocodone magnifies this sensation to a large degree, as "itching" is listed as a common side effect of the drug. I do however find it odd that you didn't experience this effect on Norco; but it could be that the inactive ingredients within those tablets were different than th...

Could it be the Med? ## It is as easy for dogs to be allergic to something as it is for people….this applies to all other animals, as well. However, it could also be due to the fact that this contains the narcotic Hydrocodone, it can cause itching as a side effect. Learn more Hydrocodone details here.
