the pill from india that is fake but real is silver in color no implant markings an scored wih a very bittery taste sorta chalky anyone ever gotten these 10/325 people say they r completely the real deal! but no markings supp 2 b manufactured independently bcause illegally bought my cousin got them like 3 months ago just wondering he lives in state?help if anyone knws wanna b sure what hes takin ## From what I've been seeing online, a lot of medication coming from India is definitely counterfeit. As to whether or not it works, that's another story, and can only be determined by those who decide that it's worth the risk to consume. It's not too often that you get lucky with a quality med, but I hear there are fake replicas out there that work just as well or better than s...

I am dealing with an infection from a spider bite on my right jaw.My molars and gums that line up with my jaw are so painful. I am taking some expired Hydrocodone that my mom had. It is almost 2 years old. Now,after reading this, know why it has not helped me.I have a prescription for Tramadol 50 mg. It seems to work better... I also am taking Amoxiciln . 500mg. I was wondering if taking the Tramadol and Hydrocodone alterating if it will be ok? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? If the Hydrocodone isn't helping you, why keep taking it? Why not just take the Tramadol that you've been prescribed? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

what are the red dots for? ## Hi greg, Based on my research, the red dots are just there as a design. They are not made of any active ingredient to enhance the medication. There are some pills with blue dots as well, it's just how the manufacturer decided to design the pills for brand identification. Do you have any more questions regarding this medication? If so, please post back! ## They are chemical marker that the DEA has forced pharmaceutical manufacturers to mix in to pills for tracking drug traffic. They will be in all narcotics soon but are primarily in hydrocodone, ambient and some ADHD meds. Different regions get slightly different colors so they can trace sources to the area and even pharmacy ie. Walmart, CVS, Walgreens. This is why there have been some shortages recently...

Re: The price of hydrocodone... I've been told big store chains now have limits on what they can order; store policy. The stores are now more afraid of robbery. So, each store is raising the price, not the manufacturer. Go to the small private pharmacies. I've been told they will have the medication in stock. They can set their own limit on the amount they keep in stock. Last time I went to fill my medication, they were on backorder. I checked 6 stores that were close and they had none. I had to drive a half hour to get it filled. Today, it was triple the price. For those who need medication to function, this is unacceptable. ## Since this is now a Schedule II, the increased security involved in dealing with this med is the reason for the increase in cost. The increased security...

Are 10 year old watson 385 pills safe to take if they were stored in a drawer ## Should be, u wouldn't be located in AZ? ## I'm in AZ and just trying to find a pharmacy in 85044 zip code that still carries the white 7.5 Watson 387 today???? ## Hello, Dean! How are you? After 10 years, they will no longer be effective and you should just dispose of them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And Nik, I'm sorry, but those are no longer being manufactured. As of the beginning of this year, all combination prescription medications that contained more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen, per dose, were removed from the U.S. market. Is there anything else I c...

A few years ago I had a lung removed due to lung cancer. I was put on hydrocodone 7.5 500. I was off work for 10 weeks and in pain for several years including now. I found that stretching and massage therapy on the scar line and above and below the line all around my left side helps me with the pain. The pain is now tollerable. However getting off the hydrocodone is much more difficult than I thought. If I just quit, I take 4 a day, I get diarreha for several days. I can deal with that. But I get insomnia and restless and very tired and depressed. I end up back on the stuff in a few days because I feel so miserable and the soreness in my rib and shoulderblade gets worse. I really don't want to take this stuff but its really hard to get off. Any help appreciated. ## I have been takin...

Taking it for 3 yrs, back pain getting worse on 2 per day. The state is clamping down on opioids. What could my doctor prescribe for me at this point? ## Even with the clamp downs going on, your doctor can still prescribe necessary medications, they just have to be careful how much they prescribe and make sure there is a legitimate reason for the patient to need them. If the person has a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer, such restrictions set forth by the DEA, exclude them. Too many doctors were prescribing pain medications, without verifying that a patient had a real reason to need them. The tablet you've mentioned is the 5/325mg dosage, so if your doctor things it may help, there is a 7.5/325mg dose and a 10/325mg that they could prescribe for you. The FDA classifies...

Hi, I'm a 27 year old male with 2 thoracic disc protrusions, 1 lumbar protrusion, also have facet disease through entire spine. Also cord impingement in both of the thoracic disc areas. My question is that I'm currently on three 10/325 hydrocodone a day, but I'm finding im needing more than the 3 a day to manage my pain. Is it possible or safe to take 4-5 of these a day? I've been on hydrocodone for 3 years now and at most I only get about an hour of relief from my current dose. ## Hello, Justin! How are you? The main concern is actually the Acetaminophen that's in them, taking too much of it in a day can result in overdose toxicity, which could lead to liver damage, failure or even death. 4 or 5 of them in a day isn't an unreasonable dose, but only your doctor c...

does hydrocodone apap come in 12.5/500 mg ## No, before the DEA made changes the maximum dosage available only contained 10mgs of the Hydrocodone, since the changes, the maximum available contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are there any markings on the tablet in questions? Can you please post back and clarify? I will gladly research more information for you.

I have been using brand name Norco 10 325 for some time. recently because of the DEA I cannot get them and nowi mallinckrodt s the only drug my pharmacy sells. I have read so many bad things about them on the internet, frankly I am about to have a nervous breakdown as I recently had rotator cuff surgery and I have to have the pain control to complete my therapy. I have heard good things but everyone says that the one to say the good things are crazy. help!!! ## I understand your concern, however, the only way to know if they will help you, or not, is to actually try them! You're not doing yourself any good by getting upset over it, please calm down. :-) It isn't that the people on either side of what you've read are crazy, it's that everyone is different, so some may not...

I thought I was going nuts until I googled this strange and worthless new pill. Definitely NOT the same and I will be calling my pain management doctor and have something else prescribed if this is how it's gonna be. I wonder if walmart has the "real deal"... gonna give walgreens a talking to too. How dare they try and trick bag the public like this! Chronic pain is nothing to take lightly. ## Hello, Madkatt! How are you? I'm very sorry that this tablet doesn't work for you. However, no one is trying to trick the public. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20%, in the amount of the active ingredients. They also don't have to measure against each other, only against the name brand. This...

Have been taking pain pills for past 10 years for back issues. New doctor had me on Morphine extended release and immediately release for 5 months then switched me to 15 mg Oxycodone for 5 weeks after surgery and was taking 15 mg every 6 hours, but last 2 weeks I took 1 every 4 hours. I had been on oxy before and I don't do well with it. Already addicted and wanted to get off it I asked for Hydrocodone. He gave me 10/325 taking every 4 hrs. My withdraws are bad and the pain is back. Nurse called back and said I can't take more than 1 every 4 hrs and to deal with it. What to do? I got myself off Oxycodone before over 3 months of cutting myself back. This is killing me. Please give me advice. Also was told to talk antihistamine and 4 ibuprofen each time. Seems so much other stuff ...

I was wondering if someone could tell me how long I should wait to take a 1 mg xanax after taking a 10 mg hydrocodone at around 11 am this morning? ## There's no specific time that you have to wait, if they've both been prescribed for you. However, taking them together could result in your experiencing more severe side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Interesting warning box at the Pfizer Xanax site: WARNING: RISKS FROM CONCOMITANT USE WITH OPIOIDS Concomitant use of benzodiazepines and opioids may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and death [see Warnings, Drug Interactions]. ? Reserve concomitant prescribing of these drugs for use in patien...

i do not get relief from this pain medicine, what is the deal ## Hi baby, Unfortunately when it comes to choosing an appropriate pain medication, there's a lot of room for trial and error. If your body is accustomed to another manufacturer's versions of this, then its ineffectiveness may be attributed to the different binders/fillers that are being used in this particular tablet versus others. That's my theory anyways, given that nothing else is changed on the label when you switch between different manufacturer's brands/generics. The only thing I'd encourage patients to do in light of this, is to kindly ask the doctor to be more descriptive on the prescription he/she writes, in order to pick out a specific manufacturer that you feel works best from past personal exp...

My Dr prescribed hydrocodone a month ago. I took one pill and immediately got extremely dizzy and nauseous. I did not take any more of them but am still dizzy and nauseous if I move too much or too fast. Even reading or watching tv and having things move is making me sick. I would like to know if this is normal or OK to still be dealing with this and what if anything could help? ## No, it is not normal to continue experiencing such side effects, if you have not continued taking it. The FDA lists the typical side effects as being transient and they generally go away a week, or so after you stop taking it. If you are still experiencing such issues, you need to have these issues checked out as it may be due to some other cause. What was this medication prescribed to treat? Are you on any o...

I have been prescribed tramadol 50 mg and hydrocodone 5-325 for migraines. Tramadol is always my first go to and if that doesn't work then I try the hydro. However, the tramadol is expired and has been for a year (I am in college and dealt with moving etc so don't have a doctor at the moment to get a new prescription that is unexpired.) I am literally having one of the worst migraines of my life which its so bad that the pain woke me up even after taking an (expired) tramadol. I took the expired tramadol at 10pm and it is now 2 am. Would it be okay for me to now take a hydrocodone after 4 hours (usually I wait 6 but I believe the tramadol did not work because it's expired?) Normally I would just go to the ER when it is this bad however I am taking summer courses and have an ...

what is it? - cytochrome pathway cp-450; etc ## Hello, David! How are you? They are a superfamily of proteins which contain a heme cofactor, so they are hemoproteins. They use various large and small molecules in substrates of enzymatic reactions. Human CYPs are primarily membrane associated proteins that are located in the inner membrane of mitochondria or in the endoplasmic reticulum. They are the major enzymes involved in drug metabolism, they actually account for about 75% of it. Most drugs undergo deactivation from CYPs, either directly or through excretion from the body. Some drugs can increase or decrease their activity. This could cause you not to absorb enough of any given medication or to absorb too much of it. A good example to use is the antiseizure medication Phenytoin, sin...

I have been prescribed 5/325 due to a possible meniscus and ACL tear. It is not doing anything for the pain. I was taking Meloxicam which also did not help. I am limited to what I can take due to an inflamed Duodenum. I really have to watch NSAIDS. Any recommendations? Just deal with it till I see ortho? ## Hi, Joelle! Sorry that you're in pain. Have you contacted your doctor? Since this only contains 325mgs of the Acetaminophen, it may be okay for you to double up on it to get better pain relief, but only your doctor can say whether or not it's safe for you to do so. Learn more Vicodin details here. However, if they say that it's okay for you to do so, that may cause you to experience more of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipatio...

I have a severe toothache..took one tablet about an hour and still in pain..has helped a little but still unbearable..is it safe to take another one or do I have to wait the 3 more hours as directed? ## Dear JIK, obviously we r suppose 2 take our prescriptions as directed. But, if u did take 2, it would be up 2 u. I take 2 all the time, and, so do many other people I know. ## @JIk, Cats68 makes a good point. While taking more than prescribed is generally not recommend, the decision would be solely up to you. I recall some past experiences where I used to take an extra one if I truly felt it was necessary for my own peace of mind during a moment of intense pain. In my opinion, the only thing to serious thing to watch out for is having too much Acetaminophen on a regular basis. They actua...

Need to know - is this hydrocodone? Just came from drug store and this is what I got. Have never seen one like this before. ## I am also in the same confusion whereas I have received the same pill white oval pill imprint 2127, sorry I cant help but it would be great if someone would ..lol..somebody plz help , my cat is curios af !! ## @Carlo & Hydrizzlecone, What you guys have there is actually a new version of generic hydrocodone 5mg + acetaminophen 325mg (made by Actavis). It is the real deal, however I've recently read some complaints here about it not being nearly as effective as other brands. I say, 'to each their own in' that regard, since everyone responds differently... But I hope this helps add some clarity to the confusion. Also for verification, the pill itsel...
