Amneal manufactured, Hydrcodone- Apap 5-325 doesn't work as well as V 3604 or Watson 349. Any idea why? ## Hi Jane, I think I can help answer your question here. One of the primary factors that doesn't seem to be well known to the public, is that the FDA allows active ingredients in generic meds to vary by as much as 25% from the actual listed dosage. This could potentially mean that a 5mg hydrocodone may actually turn out to be 3 to 7 mgs depending on the manufacturer. Aside from that, subtle differences in the "inactive" ingredients (binders/fillers) could also impact the absorption/overall efficacy of the medication. Put two and two together and you pretty much have a different medication than what you may be used to taking. I hope this info helps! Have you tried any ...

Is it unusual for a pharmacy not to carry the 300mg version of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone? My Dr. that usually writes a script does it for Acetaminophen 325mg + Hydrocodone 7.5mg and this script is for the 300mg version. ## No given pharmacy is under any obligation to carry any given medication in any specific dosage. Is it possible that your doctor meant to write for 325, rather than 300, with the 7.5? Have you tried contacting them to ask? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Iv had this medication for 18months now and when I too it it took along time to kick in Should I get a new prescription? ## Hi Sandy, How did you have to wait before noticing any relief from taking it? Unless you took it with a meal, it shouldn't take very long (typically no more than say 15-20 minutes on average) to feel the effects of a medication you ingested. If however, you are simply not getting much relief or benefit from its use, I would definitely encourage you to speak with your doctor about other types of treatment options for your pain. I hope this helps! ## Do you mean you have been taking this med for 18 months or you have had the same prescription for 18 months ? ## the time it takes to absorb very's from person to person and the time you ate around taking the pil...

My child was prescribed hydrocodone-apap 7.5-500 soln in an orange liquid. Also on the main bottle with the label that says Cephalexin for Oral Suspension, USP (250 mg/5ml) 100 ml when mixed. And the pharmacy doctor put 2 of 3 in red marker on bottle. I'm confused. Is the orange liquid suppose to make it easier for him to swallow. ## To be honest, I'm a little confused by your post. You're talking about 2 different medications. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, though the Hydrocodone can also help treat couching and the Acetaminophen can help break a fever. The Cephalexin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. The color really means nothing, but most medications of this type are given to children in liquid form, sinc...

I have a tropical flavored hydrocodone-apap liquid but it doesn't say the strength?!! How much wud I need to take to equal 1 yellow 10/325 norco? It says take 1 teaspoon every 4-6 hrs for cough. Or am I way off and the whole bottle won't equal 1? Lol ## The bottle should have the amount of medication in 5 cc's on the bottle. Are there any numbers on the bottle after the name of the medication ? ## If it's hydrocodone/acetaminophen sol, it's 7.5/325 per 15 ml meaning 7.5 mgs hydrocodone, 325 Tylenol if it's the new sol, older formula has 500mg acetaminophen(Tylenol) so you would need 20ml to get 10mg. Be careful of Tylenol tho. New recommended dose is 3000mg per day. Now if its cough syrup, it's tussinex , is it super thick? That's 10mg hydrocodone per 5 m...

Are you reffering to Hydrocodone APAP 7.5/500 liquid? If so, I can tell you that 1 tablespoonful of Hydrocodone APAP 7.5/500 liquid would be the equivalent of one Hydrocodone APAP 7.5/500 tablet. What is the difference between the two medicines that I have listed above. I get sick to my stomach when I took the 10-ITP. I never get sick on the 10/650 ## Is the "ITP" something your doctor wrote on the prescription, or something from the pharmacy that was printed on their label? I'm not finding any information whatsoever on the abbreviation other than: "Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) - a disorder of the immune system that affects the platelets." I also attempted to search for a correlation between ITP and acetaminophen; in which case, patients with ITP can "take only acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) for pain or fever, as other over-the-counter pain and fever medications may damage platelet function". WHAT DOES THE LETTERS APA STAND FOR? the two articles above contradict each other. top one says...apa means amt of acetaminophen & bottom one says, that apa is the amt of hydrocodone. i came here specifically for apa info. help me with the apa on my meds. thanks g. n. ## From what I could gather, it seems like a simple misunderstanding. APA & APAP are both commonly used abbreviations of Acetaminophen. This abbreviation is often used in the following context: "APA/Hydrocodone 325mg/7.5mg" Is this what you are referring to? I would suggest double checking with your pharmacist if you believe it has an impact on the quality of your medication. However, if you know the imprint on your pill, I can even look it up for you to determine it's exact ingredients. I hope this hel...
