Experation dates on it ... 4/3/10... Is this medicine till good to use . ## It doesn't get dangerous after the expiration date, however, it will begin to lose effectiveness, so you may not get the same relief that the regular dose provided when it was a fresher product. What are you using it for?

Hi I was prescribed hydrocod/apap elix 7.5/500 sol. I was wondering what the dose would be to be equal to the 7.5 hydrocodone pill. ## It is exactly equivalent, the intention of it is to give 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen in each dose. Side effects will also be the same and may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Are there any comments or questions? ## is the liquid hydrocodone 7.5 500 equal to the pills 7.5? ## is there any where i can get my perscription for liquid loratab filled 500mg ## I am having a problem getting my hubby's Lortab Elixir script filled. Is the yellow liquid solution of Hydrocodone-Apap a generic form of Vicodin? ## I was prescribed this stuff for pain relief after a tonsilectomy...bottle reads: 400 HYDROCODONE/ SOL APAP Take 2-4 teaspoonfuls every four hours as needed. My question is, is there a way to tell how many milligrams each of hydrocodone/acetominophen per teaspoon? I am concerned about the APAP as we all know it is toxic to the liver in high doses and would like to know how much is in each dose I take so I can monitor it. I am assuming the 400 on the bottle corresponds to that, but I don't know how it applies (ex. per teaspoon, or per reccomended dose of 2-4 an hour). Seems to me its a lot harder to find info on ratio of hydro. to APAP in liquid form, wheras it is almost common knowlege for the tablet-form...

My son is 11 months old and had surgery and was prescribed hydro/APAP for his pain. It is 7.5/325 in 15ml. The pharmacy calls it Tylenol 4. I'm just wondering if this is really safe to use on an 11 month old. ## Tylenol 4 is 60 mg Codeine and 325 mg Acetaminophen. It sounds like the prescription is for hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. There is Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen in Each 5 ml. ## I don't know what type of surgery but that's too much for an 11 month old,I would try plain tylenol,if it doesn't help,I would half the dosage on the hydrocodone. ## My son had posterior medial releases on both feet(tendon release for clubfoot ) and also tissue removed from the bottom of his feet because of his extremely high arches which contributed to his clubfoot. The sur...

My son was prescribed hydro-apap 7.5/500 it says give 1.5 mg (3ml) for pain what's that equal in pill form?? ## Hello, Sarah! How is your son doing? You really should stick with the liquid here to be able to give a precise dose and not risk overdosing. Trying to cut a tablet to get the law of a dose would be far too risky. Is there anything else I can help with?

I Found a blottle that read HYDROCODOE/APAP ELX PMA I was just curious as to how strong it was, it's yellow..If that matters any. ## I'm thinking the "ELX" probably stands for Elixir, which is liquid. And from what I could gather, Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen Oral Solutions come in dosages of: 7.5 mg/500 mg per 15 mL. I noticed that this dosage has yellow dye in it as well if that helps: "In addition, the liquid contains the following inactive ingredients: ammoniated glyyerrhizin, dibasic sodium phosphate, citric acid, ethyl maltol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate, sodium gluconate, sorbitol solution, with D&C Yellow No. 10 and FD&C Yellow No. 6 as coloring, and natural and art...

My child was prescribed hydrocodone-apap 7.5-500 soln in an orange liquid. Also on the main bottle with the label that says Cephalexin for Oral Suspension, USP (250 mg/5ml) 100 ml when mixed. And the pharmacy doctor put 2 of 3 in red marker on bottle. I'm confused. Is the orange liquid suppose to make it easier for him to swallow. ## To be honest, I'm a little confused by your post. You're talking about 2 different medications. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, though the Hydrocodone can also help treat couching and the Acetaminophen can help break a fever. The Cephalexin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. The color really means nothing, but most medications of this type are given to children in liquid form, sinc...

Was given RX Hydrocod/acetaminophen 7.5-325/15ML every 4-6hrs. Can you also use liquid tylenol 500 mg over the counter together, alternating? ## You should not combine OTC tylenol with any prescription meds that also contain tylenol. You may want to call or see your Dr or dentist if the rx you were given isn't helping the pain. ## I Ran out of my hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 10-325 T. About how many of the over the counter extra strength Tylenol's can I take to get close to the hydro's. I'm out of town for 2 more days. Need something to ease pain up at least somewhat. Any advice would be great. Thanks. ## You should not take more than 4,000 mg Tylenol in a 24 hour period or more than 1,000 mg every 6 hours. The tylenol won't equal the hydrocodone/acetaminophen you'...

how many pills is this eqiulent to ## Hi John, The milliliters (ML) refers to the size of the container, or dosage, but doesn't provide enough information to answer your question. Are you reffering to Hydrocodone APAP 7.5/500 liquid? If so, I can tell you that 1 tablespoonful of Hydrocodone APAP 7.5/500 liquid would be the equivalent of one Hydrocodone APAP 7.5/500 tablet. The intention is to give 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen in each dose. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone I hope this helps! ## That is all wrong it will tell what the Dr is is PER ML meaning 7.5/500 per 15 ML means in ONE OUNCE is 2 7.5 tablets.... Also meaning A FULL 16 OZ BOTTLE IS ONLY 32 PILLS some liquids are per 5 ml meaning that's 6 pills pe...

Thanx ## I'm sorry, but since you didn't state the dosage of the liquid, I cannot answer your question, the liquid comes in varying dosages as well, so it will depend on that. Is it safe for me to let her have my 3/4 bottle from October???? ## Hi Lucy, I checked to see if there are any reactions between the active ingredients in "Hydrocodone Apap" and "Robitussen + Codeine" and my findings state that there are some potentially unsafe interactions. I have 150 ML of Hydrocodone/APAP ELX that expired in 12/06. It has not been opened since then and has been kept at a constant room temp. Is it still safe to use for my bursitis and other muscle pains....??? ## Hello, Dlanor! How are you? No, it is long expired after that many years. Liquids degrade faster than other forms of medications and slowly lost potency. Not only will it no longer be very effective, but there's also a chance that it has turned and could make you very ill, if you take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you need pain relief, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with...

My doctor prescribed the liquid hydrocodone/APA 7.5-500mg/15ml to me for pain. The pharmacy label says to take 1 TEASPOON every 6 hours. This seems unusual given that this dosage seems to be most often given in 15ml doses as opposed to the 5ml in a teaspoon. I took it as the label recommended and honestly can't tell a bit of difference. Is it possible that the pharmacy mislabeled? Based on what I have read, I should be safe to 15ml at a time, right? I sure would like to take the full dose tonight so I can finally get some rest. ## What does the pharmacy list for the dosing amounts in the 5ml? Did you check to see if they substituted? They sometimes do that if they don't have the dosing form that your doctor prescribed in stock. Have you called the pharmacy to ask? If they just m...

My husband has COPD. He was prescribed the Hydrocodone APAP 5 500 by his doctor for back pain. However, 1 pill seems to allow him to breathe better and reduces all his aches and pain (of course). The pill has also allowed him not to have to take his dose of Advair 250/50 at night. He has less mucous in the morning also. Why is the Hydrocodone 5/500 working like this? ## Hydrocodone is actually used in some medications, such as Tussigon and Tussionex, which are liquids, to help aid coughing, because it also has proven action as an antitussive. Learn more cough medicine details here. It's likely helping to suppress his cough urge and loosen some of the mucous that may cause some of his problems. Learn more Vicodin details here. I have some Hydrocodone 5mg/500mg they expired 2009 would they still be ok to take? ## This medication which is a generic for Vicodin doesn't get dangerous once it's past the expiration date, but it does lose effectiveness, so after 3 years, they aren't likely to do much in the way of pain relief. Learn more Vicodin details here. The best thing to do would be to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I used hydrocodone liquid form from 2009. How long is the expiration for that. Can't find the bottle now. ## Not true. I have a tropical flavored hydrocodone-apap liquid but it doesn't say the strength?!! How much wud I need to take to equal 1 yellow 10/325 norco? It says take 1 teaspoon every 4-6 hrs for cough. Or am I way off and the whole bottle won't equal 1? Lol ## The bottle should have the amount of medication in 5 cc's on the bottle. Are there any numbers on the bottle after the name of the medication ? ## If it's hydrocodone/acetaminophen sol, it's 7.5/325 per 15 ml meaning 7.5 mgs hydrocodone, 325 Tylenol if it's the new sol, older formula has 500mg acetaminophen(Tylenol) so you would need 20ml to get 10mg. Does liquid hydrocodone/apap lose its yellow color after two weeks ## Hi Jenni, Based on my research, U.S. prescription medications are required to have a mandatory expiration date of 1 year from the date the prescription is filled. After a year is up, the medication should still be safe but it will start to lose its potency and can no longer be as effective. However, there are some medications that can become dangerous after they expire. That being said, it's best to not take any medication after its expiration date. I haven't heard of this happening, but I'm sure it has to someone besides yourself. Maybe there is a problem with your specific prescription. Have you spoken with your pharmacy about it? I hope you get it figured out! Has this happened to anyone else? ## I woul...
