My doctor prescribed these pills to me after my breast reduction. Can I take these same pills for wisdom tooth removal? ## Hello, Rochelle! How are you? They can be used for that, as well, since they are just a narcotic analgesic, but you shouldn't take them, unless your dentist has okayed it. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

how do I convert a 5-325 TAB TO A 5-500 HYDROCODONE/APAP ## Hello, Bob! How are you? I'm sorry that cannot be done. Have you discussed the issue with our doctor? They may okay it for you to just take an extra Tylenol/Acetaminophen tablet with it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

on one side it sendes watson 387 ## Can this medication cause constipation.? prescribed for pain relief. ## This tablet contains 750mgs of Acetaminophen and 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone, the active ingredients in Vicodin, Lortab or Norco. And yes, it is a narcotic pain reliever, so constipation can be one of its side effects, along with dizziness, drowsiness and nausea. Learn more Lortab details here. An additional note to add is that the FDA has requested that all such medications be changed to lower the dosage of the Acetaminophen in them to a maximum of only 325mgs, due to the danger associated with its toxicity and overdose. Some manufacturers have already begun to implement this change and the rest are expected to have done so by January 2014. Thus, at any future point, anyone looking for... ...

Is this product Gluten Free? Does the filler formula change depending on when it is manufactured? Is there a risk for cross contamination during the manufacturing of this product or at any other time before the patient fills a prescription? ## I have been allergic to gluten for 15 years now, and I have been taking it for the past 3 years, so I am assuming it is safe or I would have known it, by my throat and tongue swelling up. I don't know about a risk of cross contamination...but so far I have not had any problems. ## Based on my research, each Hydrocodone 5mg + Acetaminophen 325mg tablet (from Qualitest Pharmaceuticals) contains the following inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, pregelatinized ... ...

Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Tab AMNE vs Tab QUAL

What is the difference between Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Tab AMNE and Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Tab QUAL ## The AMNE and the QUAL are both just abbreviations for the manufacturer of those particular tablets, so that's the only difference. AMNE stands for Amneal Pharmaceuticals and QUAL stands for Qualitest. This is a generic medication, so it is manufactured by several different companies, another one that I can think of off the top of my head that makes this same dose is Watson Pharmaceuticals. Is there anything else I can help with? You can learn more Vicodin details here. ## no - thank you. What is the limit for a single dose for a 170 lb person? I hear this drug can be dangerous and I want to make sure my son is taking it correctly for his surgery recovery. ## The hydrocodone will not harm him even if he took 8 per day but the acetaminophen cannot be more than 4000 mg a day. And as you can see 325times 8 is not even close .so I hope he does well in his recovery.God bless Rocket666. ## However, regardless of safe limits overall, they should only be taken according to his doctor's prescribing instructions. This medication does carry the risk of being habit forming and addictive. It may also cause side effects likes nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

they expired 2 years ago, can they still be taken? ## Hi Christeen, There's actually a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication, but according to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. But the question is whether or not the drug you have happens to be one of these drugs from the study... (I have not seen the list of drugs use... ...

I have been prescribed 5/325 due to a possible meniscus and ACL tear. It is not doing anything for the pain. I was taking Meloxicam which also did not help. I am limited to what I can take due to an inflamed Duodenum. I really have to watch NSAIDS. Any recommendations? Just deal with it till I see ortho? ## Hi, Joelle! Sorry that you're in pain. Have you contacted your doctor? Since this only contains 325mgs of the Acetaminophen, it may be okay for you to double up on it to get better pain relief, but only your doctor can say whether or not it's safe for you to do so. Itchy throat, Marked and distinct scratchy throat and discomfort, also felt in ears, more during swallowing. Took first doze last night Aug 14 for chest pain and cough. It hurts. It is bothersome. What to do? Is this serious? Or must be managed? ## NO! These are NOT normal side effects of Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen. These are possibly actual symptoms of an allergy to the drug! Stop taking it. Have you contacted your doctor? I have had 4 steroid injections for sciatic back pain with no relief. I have tried acupuncture to no avail and am now trying the Hydrocodone but am concerned it may be addictive. What signs should I be aware of when taking this medication every day? ## Hello, Maxine! How are you? Yes, the FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I think it will best help you, if I explain how/why addiction happens. Narcotics can cause a high feeling and energy, in some people that take them, but since those are just side effects, these symptoms eventually wear off, as their bodies become used to the medication. Thus, they have to keep taking more an mo... ...

I have been taking hydrocodone-APAP 10 / 325 as a generic for NORCO 10 325 for chronic pain, but recently my pharmacy changed the generic medication from a white tablet simply marked 'M367' on one side to a yellow tablet marked with a semi cursive 'V' on one side, and the number '36/01' on the other. The yellow tablets do not seem to work as well; as if maybe they are "slow", or "time released". Is this true? Is there a difference in these medications and how they work, or are released into my system? ## Hello, Caesar! How are you? No, these are both regular release tablets. However, under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics can have fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient, so this one may be a little lower in dosage than the other ... ...

Can you post back with more details, such as the manufacturer, or specific markings on the tablet? Is your doctor and pharmacy aware of your allergy? Hydrocodone apap 10/325 is what I take for Headaches on a daily basis.... can not get a refill until tomorrow morning... Can any one help me with this... I'm a bit nervous in taking another pain pill ## Hello, Mari! How are you? What did you end up doing? The main concern would really be the fact that the Codeine is so much weaker, it likely wouldn't handle your pain very well and with the added Acetaminophen, taking additional pills wouldn't be safe. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth... ...

Why can my DR. not prescribe the HYdrocodone apap 10/660 .reason being i was on it for about 7 years with no side affects and could stop taking it anytime with no problems. The narco 10/325 i have to take twice as many to git the same results, and have constipation problems. ## In Jan 2014, the FDA required manufactuers to limit the amount of tylenol in prescription meds to no more than 325 mgs. They no longer make a med rx with 660 mg tylenol. ## @Rocky, BL is right about the new law limiting the amount of acetaminophen to 325mgs. However to my knowledge there are safer alternatives to acetaminophen (such as Curcumin/Turmeric root) with studies showing that it's as effective as other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs but without side effects when taken as directed. My doctor changed my medication from Lortab 7.5 500 to Norco 7.5 325, but now i'm super sleepy for about 2 hours now. Any answers ? ## It might be a slight withdrawal effect, due to the lower amount of Acetaminophen, because it potentiates the Hydrocodone. It usually takes about a week or so, for your body to adjust. However, if it continues past that, or worsens, you should consult your doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Its been about 1 1/2 months, but I just found out. The lower the apap the higher Hydrocodone, that's what's make me sleepy now. How are you? Yes, as of the first of the year, they are only available with a maximum of 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose, just like the new one you are taking. The Acetaminophen tends to augment the action of the narcotic, that's why the new one doesn't seem to work as well for you. However, your body should adjust after a week or two.
