I had a tooth extraction yesterday, been taking I Norco 7.5-325 regularly since; took one pill an hour ago and the pain is still unbearable, can I take one more or even half a pill more? ## Hi Ryan, Generally with this type of drug the dosing instructions indicate that you should take 1 pill every 4-6 hours or so. I could be wrong, but I think this is mainly due to the concerns associated with Acetaminophen and liver toxicity. From my own personal experience, it should be fine to take a half a pill more, as they do make a stronger norco with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. I have been taking norco 10/325 yellow oval pill for a few years but yesterday what I got was different they were white oblong pills which says hyd/apap 10/325 mg tab amnea on it and the numbers on the tablet are G 037. Are they the same? Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin in a time released formulation, so which of those is stronger depends on the dosage, however, in theory the Oxycontin should be stronger, because the lowest dose of it available is 10mgs. The 30mg Hysingla ER is equivalent to 20mgs of Oxycodone, so of the three you've listed, this is the highest dose. Darvocet discontinued, replaced by hydroco/apap 5-325, dose 1 q8h. I do not get the pain relief I did with Darvocet. Perhaps dosage is not high enough or strength not strong enough? ## The dosage not being high enough would also be my guess. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is available with the Hydrocodone in 7.5mgs and in 10mgs, so you may wish to talk to your doctor about trying one of those dosages. Darvocet is a very mild narcotic, so it doesn't take a very large dose of anything else to equal or surpass it. You should call your doctor and tell them that your medication is not helping the pain. I hope you get some relief soon. ## Hi Gary, Post #1 is right about there being a lot of other options for pain relief; many of which are stronger than a 5mg dose of hydrocodone + 325mg of acetaminophen. If it were me, I would talk with my doctor about upping the dose of hydrocodone to 7.5mg or 10mg, since that is considered to be the "next step up" in terms of potency. From there it seems like oxycodone, opana, dilaudid, fentanyl, extended release meds, etc, are reserved for more serious or long term cases of chronic pain management.....

Hello. I take Norco 10/325 TID with MS Contin 20mg er BID for chronic back pain, sciatica, degenerative disease. I never get drowsy and feel it does the job because I notice no pain. I recently tried oxycodone with the letter M on one side & 05/52 on the other which I think is 5mg. Which one is stronger? Which Is Stronger Hydrocodone Apap 5mg 500mg Or 10 325 ## Hi Kim, I can't really tell you if one will be stronger or not since medications can affect everyone differently, some people get great results from taking, but there are others that it doesn't work for; the only way to find out is to actually try it. If I were to make an assumption though, I'd say that the 10/325 combination may be more effective, since the amount of Hydrocodone is doubled and the amount is Acetaminophen is not completely cut in half in comparison to the 5/500 combination. I wasn't able to find a list of all the various dosages that are available for Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen. So it could be that my assumption is wrong, but none the less, you'd have to try them both and compare the effects ...

I've been on muscle relaxers for about 7 years, due to a neck fracture injury ending in a surgut oval nonfusion. I have chaotic pain that my pain Doctor treats with 10/325 Hyrdroco/APAP. Limit of six per day. Some days I take the maximum some days I don't depending on my activities. He substitutes my hydrocodone done with Baclofen 10 mg. his prescription says take one to two tablets by mouth three times daily as needed for muscle spasms. I rarely ever take the maximum dose. We first started out with Flexeril that worked for a little while but I needed something more.
